Zo bijzonder dit...mijn vader, Stefanus Bakker, heeft zijn hele leven bij de RIL gewerkt waarvan 30 jaar in Azie....dit soort filmpjes brengt zijn verhalen tot leven (hij is er niet meer) en een brok in mijn keel :)

@Fritstube1065 . Er zijn heel veel oud bemanningsleden en hun families die zo graag het verleden willen zien herleven in filmpjes. Je kunt ze terugvinden door op YouTube te zoeken met michael+rogge+RIl+koopvaardij of andere zoektermen Ik heb er een paar dozijn op YouTube staan.

Excellent, excellent!!! I get the goosebumps when I watch your video's! You really do a fantastic job. Would you have anything about Pladju, (Palembang) Sumatra. I sailed on the tankers from Singapure, Sambu tp Pladju for something like 64 trips. 16 hours pilot to pilot during the British confrontation years in the 60's. I was still Ch. Off. and became captain 1965. If memory is correct the Musi river had was only good for 19 ft. a draft. Keep up the good works !!!!
