@massiveattack786 Yeah, In the original release Cygnus X remixed this track keeping the acid riff at it's core and then adding a separate and original melody to their remix. Ferry Corsten used Cygnus X's melody in his remix and so too did Durand. In effect, It's a remix of a remix of a remix. There's little to no traces of the original in Durand's mix.

This is the album version of the track. The single version on platipus is considered the original as it came out before the album with terra firma as the b side. As far as im aware there were no remixes until 2000. I worked with simon berry aka art of trance in the late 90's doing mixes on pirate radio in manchester. p.s dont get confused between this and madagasga which is an entirely different track from 1998. People need to stop posting tripe.

the first time i heard Madagascar was the original, that was 5 years ago. ever since i've only heard the other popular remixes. now i find myself prefering this old school mix.

this was probably my first classic trance song i heard. at first i wasn't so accepting of it and never ventured off the new mainstream stuff, but soon the classics became the only type of trance that i could listen to.

This is the original mix from 1993, some of you guys are thinking of the 1998/99 mix. saying that i still prefer the new mix from the likes of ferry corsten and cygnus x. i remember hearing the tune for the first time on an album called 1999 Year of Trance. Great tune.

@normq I did the research; the first known release of Madagascar was as "Madagasca" in 1998 on the Platipus records. The initial release was pressed with the original mix and the Cygnus X remix on vinyl. No internet search has yielded any sort of source quoting the track existing in 1993, unless the track existed strictly underground for 5 years prior to pressing in 1998, which doesn't make much sense (to me) as Art Of Trance had already been active since 1993. Why would they wait?

Yes i confirm that Madagascar began to exit in1993, i've yet played its track in my radioshow "TopTec MaxiMax" in 1994, on Horizon Fm radio in Normandy (France).

i heard the track in the CD and its sound coincide with the Ferry Corsten Remix.
