  • ooooooooooo i love this song

  • April Wine and Chilliwack are Canada's best bands, and are both some of the best in the world.

  • @acdcgnr100 they coulda been sooo much bigger that woulda been sickkkk (sadface)

  • @acdcgnr100 Rush, Trooper, Triumph..? I like em all but A.W. and Chilliwack are definately not the best.

  • @13EN17 yes they are

  • tits \

  • the beginning is practically neil young

  • @Lopezalicous I always thought that the beginning was neil young! I'm not the only one.

  • @Lopezalicous when i first herd this song years ago, thats who i thought it was too

  • @Lopezalicous For years, I thought this was a CSNY song. Sort of like it's easy to mistake Sweet's "Love is Like Oxygen" for ELO.

  • @Lopezalicous ???????????????????? how so????

  • @Oreeyemma just how he sings so softly sounds exactly like neil young, i even went to my dad showed him the beginning (and he is a huge neil young fan) and thought it sounded exactly like him

  • @Lopezalicous I thought it was Neil Young the first time I heard it... until it started getting faster.

  • This song is so amazing, i can't stop listneing to it. Its like i sing along cause i know all the words, but i can't sing as good as bill... .

  • @TWatsonism Wow...I saw that you mentioned someone named Bill...My brother passed away in January and his name is Bill....this is one of his favs....Thanks.....to whoever you are......xoxox Bill...

  • I want to see the baddd ass players here on YT cover this tune...

Not just one picking a part the lead or the acoustic parts but a collaboration...

  • Grew up in the BEST era of music, Always remember this gem. Thanks to you tube you can find any and all of my obscure favorites. Found Aimless Lady by my all time favorites Grand Funk Railroad.

  • @nawlinzrealtor only think is, I can't find "Walk On" by Chilliwack anywhere!! =(

  • One of the best songs of all time <3

  • One of the greatest Canadian songs ever

  • @dirty30jr . I love Rush, I love April Wine, there Canadian Rockers through and through.. But B.C has produced most of the Greatest Bands out there, this band being one of the greatest legends of all

  • @dirty30jr one of the greatest Canadian bands ever!

  • Heard Bill play this live last night.. Wonderful.

  • Love it!

  • ONe of the Best.. no doubt.. thanks for posting a studio version..

  • Canadian eh? Fuck Yeah

  • 7 people thought this was the Rush song...

  • OMG, I have not heard this incredible song in at least 30 flippin' years. Awesome!

  • Just Press "3"

  • Amazing song. Love it!

  • what about sam roberts?

  • @burrirlo Sam Roberts was signed to Universal Music Group. The same record label that has signed and distributed Lady Gaga, Akon, Lil Wayne and many other musicians. Ah but how could HE be evil? I mean, if you like him he MUST be righteous.

Like I said; YOU ALL SERVE US.

  • Absolutely fantastic. Brilliantly composed and performed. I <3 it sooo much.

  • sounds like neil young

  • I always confuse this song with Neil Young! Sounds like something he would do!

  • @tetra19 I did too when I first heard this as a kid in the 70's.

  • I guess 7 people would rather hear cheesy "music" like Katy Perry over this underappreciated classic rocker.

Best yodel in classic rock behind "Hocus Pocus" by Focus.

  • @bucky468

"Best yodel in classic rock behind "Hocus Pocus" by Focus"

    +1

  • LOVE THIS SONG WAA WAA HAA HA A

  • Great song, who needs a chorus? ahhh-ahhhh-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • They had some ups and downs. Got booed in Halifax, early on. I like them, especially this and "Lonesome Mary"

  • My dad made me listen these guys when I was young now I thank him...Chilliwack us awesome!

  • A great song from some bc boys! I thank my dad for teaching me the way the rock!

  • i like the guitar solo its just..... SO AWSOME

  • k this sounds like neil young

  • @neileatsballs yeah but its not neil young.

  • Thumbs up if you air guitar the solo :)

  • @B2BTeppinfox

If you like to air guitar, find yourself an album by Avalon called "Voice Of Life". Drop the stylus down on the track titles 'Maranontha". I dare you, no I double-dog dare you to not air guitar!!!!!!

  • To Karen, Terry, Liliana & mom. You guys were cool and turned me on to this band when I was 10! Victor...

  • makes me happy

  • i won tickets to see these guys this friday, cant wait

  • 70's rock'n roll doesn't get any better than this. Rock on Chilliwack!!

  • totally numbing solo 2 times!!

  • Este grupo gustó mucho en La Paz, Bolivia en 1982 con canciones como My Girl y I believe que sonaron radios como Stereo 97 y la FM 90. Qué tiempos. Saludos desde las alturas.

  • Canadian Arena rock at it's finest !

  • @2pellybay

Sorry, I think that goes to Rush.

Chiliwack gets the award for memorable choruses that never leave your head.

  • @TheRimDoctor

    Check some Harlequin... Streetheart...

  • Canadian Arena rock at it's finest !

  • super underrated, and at the same time, super mindblowing.

  • Nearly 5 full minutes of dreamy musical bliss.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I'll be back for more as time permits!!! Kudos to the one who posted this perfect harmonic gem!!!

  • @futuresjackal - A truer description of this tune cannot be written...

  • Comment removed

  • ahhh,,,the old northlands colisium. saw many, many shows there. edmonton. ha, milion miles ago now.

  • good song! I learnt how to play it on ultimate guitar, this is not an adveratisement.

  • great stuff, I can totally relate one of the most undiscovered bands ever, hope it worked out anyway for them, I would see them in a heartbeat and be dam proud of them as Canadian rockers

  • canadians have written some classic songs...

  • CANT deny this shit...

  • I used to think this was Neil Young! Such a great singer, Neil, and this guy.

  • @sparkytrick they sound the same yeah, but u can hear the slight distinguishments

  • @sparkytrick So did I! And I agree :D

  • yee west coast for life, cant get any mor west than tofino bc.

  • I saw them a couple of years ago it was great. Besides all their great hits like this one they did this native drum solo that was mesmerizing. I would go again in heart beat.

  • agreed...we saw this group at a small festival in 2002...they were headliners...something magic that night, can't explain it, because the crowd wasn't particularly large...probably one of the best shows i've ever seen, not kidding...opening groups were helix and sass jordan...

  • Seen these guys live in the 70's with my girlfriend Mary. We had it good back then and we have it good now with all the technology we have to listen to all the old hits.

  • 4 people are retarded!

  • fly at night in the morning we land. fly at night till we're satisfied, see the morning from the other side

  • Doesn't music mean that you actually have some talent and can play and instrument, new music should try to play the classics then maybe I would not want to puke when when a new song comes on to the radio

  • this song makes me wanna jump in a rocket and fly at night ;)

  • One of the many great joys of being in my later fifties is having had the experience of living thru an era of truly great music being created and aired, and I, like a lot of us, have kids who are so envious of what we had. Just reading the posts here (other than the ones from the two year olds) brings back memories.

What I mostly like about this tune is just how much my mom got really choked when I pushed my JBL'S (still have'm) past ten on the volume scale anytime I played this one.

  • 4 people dont fly at night!!

  • is weird how so many people love todays crappy music- But if you go to songs like this one or the beatles, and all the good music- Everyone is sayin- wish i lived in that era- such good music compared to Justin Beiber, Keisha, and Fergie- It seems that everyone one loves the bad music- but at the same time- Everyone hates it!!

  • @catlovre

    the beatles suck ass

  • @thenameless13 why do u have to say anything about the beatles sucking. they obviously dont suck if they are the best band of all time

  • @dustinwm94

You're a fucking loser buddy. The Beatles are the most overrated talentless band of all time.

  • @thenameless13

Lol stop being an angry little nerd about it

  • @dustinwm94 i couldn't agree with you more,

  • yes! i'm the first one to say something gay about people missing the like button!!=D

  • I did live in those days and I remember these guys very well. Music has certainly changed there's no doubt. This stuff takes me back to simpler times. Thanks for posting !

  • one of the best canadian songs ever

  • chilliwack is such a talented band ....amazing that they are here still...as good as any from the 70s

  • Yu have nooooo idea.. I could kill to live in those days. I belong there

  • I'm an American, but I was attending the U. of New Brunswick ('77/'78) where I pulled a lot of airshifts at the college radio station. I remember tracking this a lot.

My great-grandparents were from New Brunswick, so I've always conidered myself part-Canadian. I've travelled coast to coast in the land of the Maple Leaf --- love the country.

  • For some reason, I thought this was Prism.

Excellent to hear that Chilliwack put this out. A class band.

  • jeff, were you responsible for the disappearances of female hitchhikers around kamloops back in the 70s? ;)

  • Back in the 70's, custom vans were popular, with shag carpets and water beds.

This tune was often coming from an 8-track tape player back then. The cool thing to do was having a Canadian Flag across the back windows of your van. Good times...

  • I'm a 14 year old, and I don't see how anyone could stand hip hop or rap music.

  • @PixieDust19962 just turned 15 and I completely agree. I'm not big into country either, but its okay sometimes. My dad had somewhere around 3000 vinyls that were stolen, or lost in a flood, but he has turned me on to some of the best music ever recorded.

  • @PixieDust19962 I wholeheartedly agree with you.

  • ok two reasons why i love this band ! #1 it is the name of the town i live in and #2 they are good music makers

  • This type of music from this time period is truely art, bands like rush, yes, floyd, zep, kansas....art. My motto is "lifes short buy copies of the songs you love."

  • amazin

    g seeing them in peachland

  • I just saw these guys live :D

  • Comment removed

  • @arthriticMamm0 They're playing the Dancin' Barefoot festival in Peachland next weekend.

  • you guys were soooo good.

  • pretty muthafuckin' epic.

  • you know... this may be my favorite song. MAY be.

  • Best classic rock that no one knows!

  • @matzchase

This is one of my favorite rock tunes of all time.

  • awesome!!!!

  • One o my favourite Canadian bands-- A tie with Lighthouse Playing "1849". If you Have Not heard it, your missing a seldom played and Seldom Known Song (worldwide), Please play it , a Great Balad.. Spanky, proud to be Canadian !!!

  • The 80's knew where the music was at, and it came from the heart in those days.

  • I was on the other side many times, I liked it there

  • rap sucks rock forever

  • Who the hell gave this the thumbs down? Shame.

  • This song is fuckin epic hands down! I don't know if i'm hearing it right nut at the beginning of the sond Bill Henderson sonds a bit like Neil Young i them both either way. There's nothing like some fine Canadian music.

  • @NateDawg1187 yep sounds similar to neil young, in fact when i was young i was convinced it was neil young, and now i know lol.

  • @RuthlessRipReaper Yah it definetly does and thats not a bad thing either but chiliwack alone is great. It just felt like something that Neil would be singing, if only Neil would do a cover of this I think it would be interesting to hear. Good to hear some classic tunes from Canada.

  • They are playing a 40th anniversary in May. Google it to find out more. I wish I could go but im flying back east.

  • Fuck rap

  • I saw them in STL as well, I agree Styx was not at their best that night.

Either at the Arena-Checkerdome or at Kiel I can't remember which.

I liked Chilliwack better, and even bought their album on cassette later in the month.

  • Mushroom Record Label!!! Wow! I can still see it turning on the turntable......

  • i can hear other bands and singers do this. Metallica, Danzig, maybe Slayer. :P

  • Great song! I could so hear Neil Young singing this!

  • love hearing this song at work on krock

  • i hate the hip

  • No matter what some people think. Every time I hear this song since early 80s, it moves me.

  • As an old fart who had the pleasure seeing this band live in about 1982 at the Colisium in Edmonto, I can guarantee you all that this was a group of major-league talented musicians. Perhaps now the songs seem flakey, but their musicianship is impeccable. Another great West Coast band!!!

  • @conquestsk Hey old fart i seen them in st.louis they opened for stix band, I liked Chilliwack better

  • @conquestsk Sir, I wish I had the pleasure of seeing them live. You sure are lucky!

  • @conquestsk

sometimes I think I am just prejudiced with all the great music of my generation, (the 60's and 70's) but I don't think so. The musicianship and the writing just isn't there like it was. There was some powerful GREAT music from these years. I'm an old fart too, lol!!

  • @conquestsk seeing them this friday, won tickets, cant wait, ill party a bit harder for ya!!!

  • this song tells a story. such a great classic.

  • @PGreeneart

Yea you know the TTH's, Lyrics arte real terriable. The TTH is just as good, and sounds just as good as this or rush. Your intruments don't have to be complex, and your lyrics don't have to be intese to be a great band.

  • No, but creativity is a good idea, which they lack.. Otherwise they are no better than Nickelback. And while I agree with you that being extremely technically proficient isn't a prerequisite for greatness, it certainly helps. When your drummer and bassist are consistently in consideration for the greatest of all time it certainly does help.

  • @classicrockforever5

I would hardly say they lack any creativity.

  • completely wrong man im sorry their sick

  • meh. not a fan

  • such a great song !!

  • oh shit i di. the bands great aLso

  • greatest canadian bands are april wine steppenwolf chilliwack triumph the guess who bto and rush

  • You forgot "The Band". :-)

  • @RicochetRabbit101 You forgot the Trag.

  • Hey-Hey-Hey "FatAlbert969"

The "Trag"? Home town Shelton, CT?

I'm just curious, how do they compare never mind fit in with the greatest Canadian bands? What's the connection?

  • Sorry, I meant The Tragically Hip, no list of greatest Canadian bands should be without it.

  • Sorry FatAlbert969, My misunderstanding. You're absolutely right! :o)

  • don't forget Big Sugar and Joel Plaskett Emergencey

  • @skitfel

...and don't forget the great solo artists: Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Tom Connors, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Healy, Paul Anka, KD Lang, Amanda Marshall, Paul brandt, Diana Krall

some more groups you forgot : Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Trooper, Red Ryder

  • @kozseluham And the number 1 should be Bryan Adams, CANADIAN!

  • I found a chilliwack album for 50 cents in good condition so i bought it cause their name was pretty chill. Great music to kick it to

  • kshe 95 in St. Louis used to play this. I found it on iTunes. I still can't find The Prize by The Blend and No Time to Lose by Tarney Spencer on iTunes and am waiting.

  • KSHE rocks! I live near St Louis-listened to them since I was in 6th grade and I'm 44 now!

  • Kshe is an institution in St. Louis. I was surprised they canned Katy Kruze.
