I left facebook as well, cveitch, for similar reasons. It did serve its purpose, but at this point of the game, it is more of a liability than an assent. Anyway, from now on, I mainly stick with encrypted email for personal matters.

@ruscoast90 The 'arrest' was a common law breach of the peace arrest. Not a statute PACE arrest. All that they wanted to do was get Charlie off the premisis and outside. Charlie would have been released as soon as he left the shopping centre not taken back to custody. When he agreed to leave the arrest stopped being necessary so all Charlie did was save the officers some paperwork.

You can't cancel your facebook page, only suspend it. Any and all info you put on facebook is kept by facebook even if you delete content.
If you decide to go back, you will pick up where you left off.
I often suspend my account if I go away for a few weeks so I am not met with 700 facebook emails when I get back.
There is no profile deletion. Its all in the terms and conditions.

@ruscoast90 The 'arrest' was a common law breach of the peace arrest. Not a statute PACE arrest. All that they wanted to do was get Charlie off the premisis and outside. Charlie would have been released as soon as he left the shopping centre not taken back to custody. When he agreed to leave the arrest stopped being necessary so all Charlie did was save the officers some paperwork.

Firstly I moved country and found a better one.
Secondly I only buy anything second hand.
Third I buy only organic vegan food.
Fourth, I only travel by bike (up to 100 miles).
I dare charlie to better, moving country aside.

Have you watched the whole zeitgeist 3? I Saw that you were positive. I was too until around 1h 30min. Then they flipped the concept completely. But I guess as you say, you can live free even in an unfree society. I hope you support me if I want to use som of those precious computer managed resources to build a cabin by a lake and not live in those standardised cities.

Excellent work. I'm with you on kicking the facebook habit. Had my own account deleted a year ago now and am getting more from life without it. Of course, I'm now considered by all of my old facebook friends to be out of the loop and behind the times but I love not having to consider their dramatic, insignificant whims anymore. Communication continues to occur as I believe it was meant to - heart to heart and mostly with eye contact. Good luck!
