Loved this one! My daughter had a massive stroke on the right side of her brain when she was 18. She had to relearn to walk, talk, etc. She has recovered fully and then some...she now paints very similar to your style. Thanks for your point of view. Your a sweetheart. :^)

I am hoping to finish my PhD in Education building on his work because it's very interesting and has me convinced that most schools in North America only deal with a small % of how we learn.

You miss the point. I would be willing to bid much more than a dollar dear. There is a principle that must be lived by, and that if you put your art out for the public to bid on, then you must stand by what people think your art is worth!

I am a professional musician. I make my living traveling the world playing the drums and exposing my art. I happen to have a lifetime of experience in the world of trying to "sustain" myself kid! Try playing drums on a number one hit song, and still having to have to borrow money from mom and dad to help me out on my car payments which are 4 months past due! I have lived, and currently live, the artists life, so don't you try and belittle me!
Most of Vals paintings sell for much more than her reserve price is set. Not to mention if your parents are paying for your car payments that you cannot keep up with then you don't have the money to spend anyway.
Fun video Val. I can relate to the idea of school designed for a certain way of thinking because I was bad in school until I realized that in order for me to learn/understand something, I can't read it but must visualize it. So now I draw pictures or place information into lists that I can picture in my mind to remember it :)

Why is there a skunk in my brain? ...time to call the exterminator again I guess. Sheesh. Third time this month, too. Darned plush skunks with high pitched voices invading my brains. Hangin's too good fer 'em.
Bush decided on a preimtive strike against Iraq..that means ummm we think they may attack us so we will attack them before they get to..we started it. Out of 19 terrorists 8 were found to not even be apart of the attack and 1 of them was dead more than a year before the fking attack. Terrorist didnt attack us. Even Nova/PBS says that it is impossible for the towers to fall like they did without outside forces other than just a plane flying into it. You dont know much lil kid research more.

It is agsinst our constitution to use preimtive strikes as a solution to potential threats. The Patriot Act is supposed to be a positive thing to most people. It really isn't. The governor in Austin Texas states that he will not enforce this law and that it is unconstitutional. Just becasue terrorists reside in a country doesnt mean the country should be invaded thats not diplomatic. We house thousands of terrrorists here in the states.
Its not a primitive attack. It's not like we just entered into a war without thinking first. What would you rather do? Have terrorists kill our people, turn the cheek and say please sir, i want some more? If we didn't go into this war, then I'm sure they would have struck our country again.

I'm definately a right brainer....its kind of a bad thing for me....I have always struggled in a world that seems to be run by left brainers...but in a lot of ways I am happier this way :) Might as well embrace it because I can't help it....
Val, I wouldn't worry if your right side of the brain is dominant. The right side of your brain brings about the wonderful paintings you paint because, i'm pretty sure you know, the right side of the brain controls our imagination, creativity and other such skills. can't wait for another of your videos!! btw, i'm leaning towards the right side. not there yet... :( (lucky you! dominant right brain!)

I too am very right brained and my teacher, who was very left brained, disliked me very much. hmmm, makes one think. Wow, Val, your new painting is beautiful! I might say that, so far, 2 Brains is my favorite. I love the color scheme, the spiral hair and the story behind it is fascinating. The story behind it reminds me of my all-niter's in college as an art student. Eventually, after many hours of illustrating, painting and thinking, I would be completely submerged into the left side of my brain (the creative side). Great work this week!
Yesterday at the bookstore I recomended Drawing On the Right Side of The Brain by Dr Betty Edwards to a young artist who wanted to get into art school and she bought it.
However I am still drinking nearly a case of coca cola a day despite your timely warnings.
Look at someone like Albert Einstien- he couldn't remember where he lived and walked around literally spaced out in a right brained imagination trip yet he was able to devise the complex left brained mathematics to prove his right brained theories.
But anyway, your paintings are amazing, (If only I could draw like that...) Your personality just puts me in a good mood, we need more people in the world like you, Val, be a better place to have some cheerful people, eh? ^_^

I know she is attractive and has a nice accent, but trust me guys run like hell if you meet a woman like this. Women don't make sense as it is little lone one way out in left field. I cannot imagine getting into a argument with this one. I would give up simple because the topic wouldn't make any sense, and it be too hard to make a valid point. She is nice to look at, but I am sure she is a nightmare to date.

Anyway, I think it is so lame how people go on and on about her looks. The fact that she is attractive has been established even before she signed up for YouTube. Her viewers should either focus on creative criticism, supportive comments, or just taking a cold shower.
You are correct, the action of slapping a bunch of paint on a canvas does not make a person creative, it is the action of turning that paint into recognizable subject matter that makes a person creative.
And if you think that what she does is not creative, then you are also right that she would be a nightmare for you to date.

I am no authority on anything, and I realize women are a mystery. All I know is women like this twist and turn everything a person says against them. A woman way out there is even harder to get into focus on certain issues. Just be careful what women you choose to worship.

They might not have been involved, but we have to protect our country from their constant threats. Really, what would you do in that situation? If you were the president and american had just been under attack, would you just sit by the sidelines and let it work itself out?

Val, I too am a fellow "right-brainer". It is a wonderful thing to be, but certainly can be challanging in college (which i am in right now). Anyway, gorgeous painting - I think it's my favorite one yet!

I'm definately a right brainer....its kind of a bad thing for me....I have always struggled in a world that seems to be run by left brainers...but in a lot of ways I am happier this way :) Might as well embrace it because I can't help it....

Val, I wouldn't worry if your right side of the brain is dominant. The right side of your brain brings about the wonderful paintings you paint because, i'm pretty sure you know, the right side of the brain controls our imagination, creativity and other such skills. can't wait for another of your videos!! btw, i'm leaning towards the right side. not there yet... :( (lucky you! dominant right brain!)

Nice painting, its very interesting. when I was in 7th or 8th grade we worked on the whole left brain, right brain thing. I too am very right brained and my teacher, who was very left brained, disliked me very much. hmmm, makes one think. Speaking of thinking...ive wondered about the idea of your brain evolving as you age...for example, I feel as though I have started using more of my left brain than i did in the past. hmmm

You're brilliant.
The way you make your videos is amazing, with you discussing things very philosophically, yet we can tell you are full of life and personality. You discuss your issues, and you show us your process of creating these wonderful works of art. You are probably my favorite Youtuber ever.
You are also as much fun to watch as much as how good you are at painting :).

Wow, Val, your new painting is beautiful! I might say that, so far, 2 Brains is my favorite. I love the color scheme, the spiral hair and the story behind it is fascinating. The story behind it reminds me of my all-niter's in college as an art student. Eventually, after many hours of illustrating, painting and thinking, I would be completely submerged into the left side of my brain (the creative side). Great work this week!

Yesterday at the bookstore I recomended Drawing On the Right Side of The Brain by Dr Betty Edwards to a young artist who wanted to get into art school and she bought it.
However I am still drinking nearly a case of coca cola a day despite your timely warnings.

Look at someone like Albert Einstien- he couldn't remember where he lived and walked around literally spaced out in a right brained imagination trip yet he was able to devise the complex left brained mathematics to prove his right brained theories.

I know she is attractive and has a nice accent, but trust me guys run like hell if you meet a woman like this. Women don't make sense as it is little lone one way out in left field. I cannot imagine getting into a argument with this one. I would give up simple because the topic wouldn't make any sense, and it be too hard to make a valid point. She is nice to look at, but I am sure she is a nightmare to date.

Anyway, I think it is so lame how people go on and on about her looks. The fact that she is attractive has been established even before she signed up for YouTube. Her viewers should either focus on creative criticism, supportive comments, or just taking a cold shower.

You are correct, the action of slapping a bunch of paint on a canvas does not make a person creative, it is the action of turning that paint into recognizable subject matter that makes a person creative.
And if you think that what she does is not creative, then you are also right that she would be a nightmare for you to date.

I am no authority on anything, and I realize women are a mystery. All I know is women like this twist and turn everything a person says against them. A woman way out there is even harder to get into focus on certain issues. Just be careful what women you choose to worship.
