Chad was a cool drummer, but apparrantly their were aesthetic friction as well and sometimes his timing was a bit dragged, but dave grohl said that he pretty much played the parts on "nevermind" that chad came up with, dave is just one of the mightiest drummers ever, really really really good!
Jason! great to see you in this video. Jason & I were in Ranger Battalion together "back in the day" We used to get espresso every morning at the little mini mart after those excruciating runs. Anyway Jason, if you read these ...Gods blessings :) I continue to develope my warrior spirit my friend as I know you do. From the infantry and combat and death I find myself in school, pondering theology. Life is a journey :) All the best Jason.
Y yes I do know Jason! Not on a "hes my best friend" basis ... just a person that crosses ur path for a period of time and then moves on. U share the hrdships that life in a Ranger Battalion prvides for u ...develope a bond ...& have a nice chat latr on in life ovr a beer.
Jason has many talents, Im sure, at this point in life. I see ur a gitarist & Ill bet ur good at it! My friend, make sure u develope many talents. Dont pigeon-hole urself w/ just being a guitar player. U'll thank me latr :-)
For me...Dave & Chad both of them is great & have a creative skills..the two of them has gave his part for nirvana although chad is the first skin heater for nirvana they have allot of reason why he leave nirvana & thanks for Dave he take the position to be continue to heat the skin for nirvana..that two people is real part of grunge no mater what, they continue not for fun!! But for the spirit of music that came from the distorted heart of Cobain. ;-) May The God of Rock bless you all.>>>.satori
Come on. Just because Chad Channing was the first drummer doesn't make him the best. That's such bollocks! Grohl kicked his ass. I don't dislike Chad's drumming but he wasn't in the same league.
they only got better live, just because it's pre-record label doesn't mean it's better dave grohl is a much better drummer than chad channing and he even made old songs sound better
When I get my time machine working, I'm setting it to June 23, 1989 and heading to Rhino Records with a professional audio/video crew.

Why bands don't do this anymore? play in a record store something that Nirvana did even in the Nevermind album.

Those are North drums, look them up. I really want a set. (The sound is projected forward into the audience, they're supposed to be pretty loud).

dave grohl was a better drummer than chad, i think anyone can admit that
but chads sound fit nirvana much more than daves drumming
speakofthedevil94 3 years ago
i mean they've always sounded good live but i'm saying this was back when their live songs were really accurate to the studio recordings.
