  • you got DID because you were a fat child and been bullied? I don't think so dude!!!!!!!

  • thats so funny, I feel lonely at times and avoid crowds..and feel completely ok once on stage.

  • Go watch the movie "Psychiatry An Industry Of Death" and "Making A Killing".

  • if pple read his book-or watched all his interviews 2x-its all there- sad is that trauma total loss of self confidence makes u rage if someone disagrees -b/c no solid confidence there- makes us feel unloved - so we defend self by shout, hit, reject others- "too sensitive" is a sign/defence-we cant take more hurt-suicides are VERY COMMON-feel/get rejected end the memories for good- i have 2 sibling who suicided from parental/older sibling/teacher sex assaults-if family abuses we locked as "insane"

  • Great interviewer. Love hearing this guy and love Herschel Walker!

  • Sounds like you could make about ten movies about this guys life. Sounds like a real nice guy. Very humble.

  • The manifestation of DID is most commonly thought to be associated with trauma BUT the real distinction is that a diagnosis of schizophrenia requires the presence of hallucinations and/or delusions. DID involves the presence of at least 2 other distinct personalities with different traits and memories that recurrently control the "host" person's behaviors.

  • @acalexander13 Truama is a major factor, i remember i read into an artivle about herschel once that he was molested.

  • @FoziaAbdi YES did is healthy response to trauma-its amnesia- see paul bonacci in boystown school /franklin cover up- vid conspiracy of silence-teachers have started child abuse in society-are always excused covered up- mothers/grandmothers are downgraded by teachers in order to displace their power to protect their own children-education -= genecide-see kevin annett "UNREPENTANT"-re canada natives- but also africa etc natives lands stolen by teachers-ethnic kids end up in drug sexslave ghettos

  • DID i do that or not? What part does the immune system take in these bacterial hacking attempts of the brain as it is obviously not just a blackout and voices talking to a more animal brained person with less inhibitions. What high frequency sounds can disrupt or even totally cessate the talking bateria.

  • @VilIgnoble Thats so amazing what u said- im not sure if i really get it- but sounds like u have experience & higher level info- share more/explain? thanks-keep on

  • Thank you, Herschel, you stated it so perfectly.

  • The alter that has played the biggest part in my life, upon an unofficial self-diagnosis, is a name I have tattooed on my right forearm. I won't say what it is. When people piss me off, inwardly and largely unnoticed by others, I feel the switch from who I know I am at the moment and seamlessly "switch" to that particular alter. He reacts solely on "fight, and no flight." I become the guy who beats the shit out of the dude beating the shit out of the little guy.

  • @ButterManification yes- alters can have so use in stopping the pedorapists- have u seen the larry solarz(super soldier-trained) vids- thats exactly what he did-keep on

  • MPD, or DID does NOT exist. The idea of multiple personality, is sensationalizing garbage; by fanatical, nutty psychiatrists, and spun off and capitalized on by Hollywood drama. Funny that not a single person has it, until some whack job psychologist, ( who also may believe that the client had babies with space aliens they ate, but forgot) tells the poor unsuspecting victim they have MPD. It's documented, that shrinks use hypnosis, drug overdose, brainwashing, food deprivation to convince.

  • @cosmic4u I've never been diagnosed with DID, but upon seeking colleges that offered multiple degrees for various forms of psychology, I came across Behavioral Psychology. DID was one of the studies listed. I began reading through it and the more and more I read, I discovered that I was suffering from a good majority of the symptoms of DID. It's real. I've lived with those symptoms for over a decade and a half. I've suffered through a lot of trauma in my life that I've been forced to cope with..

  • @cosmic4u .... it through means of becoming someone I wasn't known for being. When I'm large crowds, I cower and my body begins to shake because of the social anxieties spawned from people being extremely critical of me at a very young age. It snowballed out of control. I couldn't even finish my Army obligations because of the disease. I feel like a million different people from one day to the next. Upon Army docs' diagnosis, I was bi-polar, manic depressive, suicidal, homicidal, and....

  • @cosmic4u ....I couldn't distinguish reality from my own thought process. That is known as dissociation. A dissociation from reality. I suffer from auditory and visual hallucinations. Sometimes I question if my family is even really my family due to the fact that there are large gaps in my memories that would be closer related to amnesia than ordinary forgetfulness. Before you knock someone or something, walk a mile in my shoes. If you start hearing voices, you can take the shoes off lol....

  • @cosmic4u loooooooool

  • @cosmic4u You are a fucking moron!!! DID is very real. I have it too. Most psychologists and psychiatrists do not believe in it because they were trained not to. The government is doing it daily with MK-Ultra.

  • @multiversedancer That's real mature, did someone teach you that language too? You can believe or think what you want, just as I am entitled to my opinion, and I believe it's a load of crap. Anyone can be drugged or brainwashed, to believe ' whatever', incuding that they are 'God knows how many people' but that doesn't make it real. I bet, you never had this, nor believed you were more than one person, until some psych, told you, that you were. Otherwise it's called schizophrenia.

  • @cosmic4u

The answer to whether someone is DID or schizophrenia would be based on two things.

    1) People with schizophrenia hear or see things that aren’t there & believe things that aren’t true. They don't have multiple identities or personalities. People with DID don't have delusion beliefs, outside of their multiple personalities or identities. The only voices they hear or talk to are these identities.

    2) DID is induced by severe childhood trauma whereas schizophrenia's genetically traced.

  • @lochmabon That may be your answer, but once again, DID, or dissociative disorder was invented by a therapist after he was successfully sued for planting false ideas in vulnerable patients minds and, pretending they had multiple personalities. He had to invent the new word 'dissociation' as he' ed be sued again if he kept falsely telling people they had multiple personalities. Patients who stay away from the faulty therapy, and therapists all realize they have one personality.

  • @cosmic4u

Are you referring to Colin Ross? I agree that anyone, regardless of any 'training' they have received or any title they use as part of their name, that relies on hypnotherapy or drugs (often used in controlling people) as part of their treatment is not trust worthy. This does not discount other documented cases of MPD, which since 1994 is now called DID,and is just ONE of the main dissociative disorders listed , that goes back to as early as 1791, as accounted by Eberhardt Gmelin.

  • @cosmic4u but isnt it others who tell you that theres something wrong with you in did or schizophrenia- its family/friends who complain and stick u in mental or jail- not the victim of trauma herself- ex- war vets see/hear bombs or the children they shot or burned or torture to win war- they really think they are there- are they schizophrenic, did or just normally reacting to wars insanity?hallucin is early infant memories or severe dissociation under stress -mind escapes2 avoid stresssituation

  • @lmollot It seems, mental health therapists tell others what's wrong with them, and a few insane therapists do invent diagnosis, like multiple personalities. People with post traumatic stress and schizophrenia do NOT have multiple personalities, it does not exist, and all patients get better as soon as they stay away from the therapist. (Dissociation was a word, invented by one such therapist after he was successfully sued for lying and telling patients they had multiple personalities)

  • @multiversedancer Nice mature language, You are entitled to believe whatever you want; but it doesn't exist.

  • @cosmic4u why do u say "load of crap"? nice mature language- research instead-schizophrenia doesnt exist you just read that somewhere- and you will read something else somewhere also-then how will you decide who is right?medical history changes every 5 years-plus docs disagree w each other-u can be angry but it wont change victims getting support- rape doesnt exist- she was willing"-that used to be accepted as truth-maybe u believe thats false memory when victims get triggered out of amnesia?sad

  • @lmollot You misread, I said, 'People with post traumatic stress and schizophrenia do NOT have multiple personalities.' Furthermore, I never said anything about being angry, I never said anything about rape victims and amnesia, that's YOUR misinterpretation. Multiple Personalities- or DID as it's been changed to- never has existed, and it never will. End of story.

  • @cosmic4u many court cases rape of women/children have been "disproved" both by judges/ jury- boystown religious pedorapist ring& false memory syndrome group have admitted pedorapists as their founders-they have bribed/threatened judges/juries/therapists-have hired many therapists to make childraping acceptable-just like kinsey was bought- you can get high blood pressure telling victims that they are lying-u cant stop us from finding support from other victims-you pedorapists ALWAYS hate kids

  • @lmollot I feel you are going on about irrelevant topic, and that you are, falsely labeling people. I said NOTHING about violating a child, I never said anything about victims lying, and I certainly never said anything about hate, or that it was right to violate any child; that's your own issue. My stand is that Multiple Personalities does not exist. Period.

  • He doesn't have DID. This is nonsense.

  • @Lehmann108 dumbass. >:(

  • Lehmann108 is right. DID does exist, but this doesn't sound like it at all.

  • Walker reminds me of myself in so many ways. :'(

    He's a good fella.

  • I think every human has this type of personality, everyone of us has this type of ability (disorder) beacuse we adapt everything we see, we hear.

  • you don't have to be like Sybil and have different names and accents, you just have to have different "modes". Its like logging into windows with a different account, its the same computer but all the settings are separate.

  • @MrXSpeaks "days when u just lose yourself"- oh yes- i get up and forgot my name etc- not as severe as him- to heal gently dont get an agressive therapist like in sybil -psychia almost pushed her to suicide- do revivification yourself at your own pace and write down dont talk of abuse to prevent re-compartmentalization of the memories- delays co-consciousness- see bryce taylor & access denied by cathy obrien

  • Man, Herschell is a classy classy guy. Good man. GO FOR IT IN MMA.

  • That's so insensitive. DID is real, very real. Read "When Rabbit Howls" (92 personalities) or Sybil (16 per.). It's rare, but it exists.

You try living life with continuous black outs and not being able to tell time. You try to live life while having different people inside of you that are different genders, race, and age.

  • Actually, among the scientific community there's a good deal of doubt regarding whether it exists. A disproportionate amount of DID daignoses can be isolated to a small minority of therapists. Before Sybil, it was a relatively unknown affliction, and in the decades after it has exploded. I'm not saying it isn't real, but to call someone "so insensitive" when they're really expressing a rather common and empirically backed opinion it seems a bit unfair...

  • And honestly, I don't see how people can not believe it's real. All you need to do is read those books and you can tell there's a real problem with those people. What other disorder would it be? DID fits.

  • I am sorry to ruin your pretty dream, but I went to therapy BECAUSE I was suffering from black holes in my memory and voices. Therapy did not put it there.

Also I do not like people to judge when you are not familiar with it. Like MrXSpeaks said, every case is different. Who are singletons to judge whether we exist or not?

It really hurts to hear people say there is a doubt about my existance.

Did you kknow alters have feelings too?

    Well, now you do.

    Anyway, thank you for reading.

  • @acebassoon Yes, a large # of cases were diagnosed by the same few therapists, but there's a reason for that. Right after, "False Memory Syndrome" became a big scare, and then therapists were terrified of diagnosing it any more. Even now, most don't. The FMS thing is a hoax. The quack to came up with it was accused by her child of co-abuse. Anyway, I just wanted to add that for consideration.

  • Wow, arcomm, the reason disorders exist like these do is because of little bullies like yourself.

  • Ohhh, students!Sweetheart, i think you are on the wrong site,........ you need to do a search for Narcissistic Personality Disorder if you are looking for help. Please, do it for all of us - ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • douche

  • @arcomn go be an ass somewhere else. It exists, its real, its not bullshit. You ever suffered from it? No? Then don't talk. >:(

  • I recently had a book published titled 'As One' by Strategic Book Publishing in New York. It is a revealing account of my struggle to overcome DID. I journeyed through the pain and discovered a sense of self. DID kept me alive until I was ready to face my deepest insecurities HEAD ON.

  • i got to shake his hand once. it was truly a great honor. love ya Hershal!

  • the only reason he came out with this is to promote his new book he came out with recently

  • I LOVE HIM.

  • when i saw Hershel on Celebrity Apprentice i thought even tho he is a nice enough person that he has a misperception problem when he dealt with some of the other players. he took things the wrong way. so maybe his disorder is the reason?

  • ya dude it is its like a cycle that u make on ur own

  • I think I may have something like that. Maybe we all do to small extent. We have a workplace identity, romantic identity, parent/child, etc. We behave slightly differently in various circumstances, adapt 2 roles, consciously. It's a problem when, like with me, I turn into person with different set of beliefs. I've been called "Fake" b/c of it and it hurts. I don't mean 2 deceive ppl. I just always need to escape pain and this helps. I'm not a bad person.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy has been shown to be effective in helping to treat DID. It's a fairly new theaputic method, first written about in the mid 90s. Those who are traumatized need help and support, so for those who are, please reach out to a professional for help.

  • Hi my name is Denise and We live in Australia; Please, HELP US...WE want and are trying to get a very STRONG message out to our public. How do we go about it?

    Denise & all.

  • @mirrorofmanyfaces talk about it, for one thing. Maybe write about your experiences. Post youtube videos. Artwork. There are all sorts of ways to go about letting the world know what you are. What you ALL are. It sounds like your relationship with your alters is pretty positive. I have an alter I call the Bitch, and we don't get along too well XD.

  • amazing - i'm studying this in class and i'm pretty sure there is absolutely nothing in my experience that could relate to anything like this.

  • It exists. They have proven this through brain imaging. Many cases are faulty or misdiagnosed but the brain imaging does not lie. I have DID. To me, the disorder sounds ridiculous even though I know it exists and I have it. I came on here tonight because I've been having probs with it a lot recently. I did'nt want to feel alone so I was hoping looking at videos of others would help. You really can't imagine what it's like having another person sucking your brain for dominance.

  • Fkin fruit tune

  • The interviewer states that the diagnosis of DID is controversial. It may be intangible, but I have been shown cases where a cat scan showed a completely different brain scan under alternate personalities.

  • can you give me the link to that.....

  • I believe that was from the book: "A Fractured Mind: My Life with Multiple Personality Disorder" by Robert Oxnam.

  • yes you can develop it by being bullied i was bullied by my father and beaten. i have DID too. i'm greatful for my alters they helped me in a time of need.

  • DID is probably underdiagnosed overall, but probably misdiagnosed in some people as well, who probably should be classified in the spectrum of bipolar disorder or schizotypal personality.

  • your a good person and you will always be a good example for doing all those pushups during those commercials. I will always try to do pushups like that for the rest of my life. It helps my deppression. Thank you for being a life time example for me.

  • just wanted to add that I thought it was great of him too and even wrote to a talk show about his book coming out when I first heard but then when I saw what he was saying caused it, I have much questions, not of him but his T, one time his T was having a free chat years ago, found it by doing a search. but than when ppl went he wanted us to send him money to be in it, so I am very skeptical of this man not of walker so this is why I brought up the money factor

  • My wife has this condition. She was severely abused when she was young. Maybe Herschel does not want to admit what really happenned. Anyway, I have spoken to a few dozen of the personalities; & they each tell me that they once had their own body & then died, & then there was a period of time before they found my wife, noticed others were coming through her, and then they eventually had a chance to talk to me. Is this how it is with you? Or is my wife experiencing something different? Thank You.

  • most ppl that develop DID in my experience do so before age 5 maybe 7 but not later. if in fact his family was supportive & "good" they would have took care of this situation, ppl dissociate cause there is NO other option, no escape no help and no relief from their abuse, I wouldnt share any of my history here but bullying and a weight problem is like breaking a nail in comparison to what myself and ppl I know have been through. I have thought that maybe his T wants to make $ found a way?

  • That's not Herschel. Thats an imposter!

  • well you know some people take things more harsher then others. maybe the bullying was really severe. you dont know.

  • As someone who has DID I'm not sure if you can develop this by being bullied, overweight, and not loving yourself.

  • another fascinating guy of the american century

  • my question about him specifically is I dont see how a weight problem and bullied at school could cause DID, if he had a "good family as he claims, he wouldnt need to split I just dont feel bullying and a weight problem could cause it, I no one that has that kind of trauma and delopes DID does anyone?

  • it would be interesting to know how severe the bullying was.. I thought the same but then I thought the same with 'Eve' - her experience was supposed to be just from being forced to see her dead grandmother.. which made me wonder if there wasn't more that had gone on of which she wasn't aware.

  • You might wanna read that again. She had to kiss her dead grandmother. Seeing a dead body at such a young age is disgusting in it's own right, but being forced to kiss it.. yuck.

  • I come from a wonderful family, it was strangers/neighbors outside the home that hurt me. But his situation is a bit dubious.

  • whats a herschel

  • herchel walker is a runningback that played for georgia and went into the nfl becoming one of the best there is. wow, whats a herchel?

  • if u have it to stand up and say i have DID is hard. and for some one like him who has been over the tv in the news it must have been so much harder. because ppl would see who he was then. not the real life, often we forget famous ppl r real ppl and have lives like we do.

having DID myself i think he has done a great thing by standing up and talking about it.

  • So DID is like you have multiple personalities and afterward you forget about them or am I reading this wrong?

  • slightly wrong but not far off, u dont forget them, u dont know or remember what they do.

but DID is and used to be called multiple personality disorder.

  • We tend to think of memory as a light-switch, and "not remembering" is a typical "excuse" for behavior. But memory is like an array of networked hard drives. The person with D.I.D. does not make excuses. But it's like the drives have some bad sectors, the network is a bit fragmented. The fragments speacialize over time. They remember everything, but don't always experience it as "First-Person memory".

My friend has D.I.D. It's hard to accept, for a while, but it's not like the movies.

  • Tell me, is ignorance really bliss? Please, learn about something before passing judgment.
