If you give it some thought, artistic endeavors have been critiqued throughout the ages. Movies are analyzed, painting and sculptures, plays, you name it. When you enter creative field it's a given that your work is going to evaluated for better or worse. It's part of the process. Often it raises the bar of what work the public sees from the artist. It doesn't mean it's a license to be nasty or hit below the belt, but I really believe in the freedom to express your opinion.

Everything she had? All Abigail had was her hymen? Really? She is essentially telling girls all they are worth is their virginity. That their virginity defines them. This is a message that was sent to women 200 years ago and that is sent to them in fundamentalist Islamic cultures. Not a good lesson if you ask me.
