  • rachel maddow is a fool or she's just being intentionally misleading. i really don't know. yes, i'm sure you can find a few corporations who, because of recording net losses and careful tax preparation, paid no taxes in some given year. but the fact is that, on average, american corporations pay the highest average effective rate on corporate income than any other country in the world.

  • Raechel's problem, is she doesnt take jobs and debt into consideration. You lower taxes for the 'rich' and they stop shipping jobs to china, and keep them here, making more employed citizens, more tax payers and less welfare recipients, all the while increasing our productivity. Lowering taxes for the rich is actually the best way to combat our debt. But the libs hear this, and they cover their ears and scream no no no because they know they're wrong, and that infuriates their ego.

  • @SuperAdventureGaming so if GE pays less that $0 they'll bring back all the manufacturing jobs they shipped to china? why would the bring jobs back? why not take the tax cut and keep the cheap labor resulting in higher profit? typical republican idea, sounds good in theory but doesn't work in real life.

reality: higher taxes for the rich under clinton - 22 million jobs created. lower taxes for the rich under bush - 3 million jobs created. so much for tax cuts for the rich creating jobs.

  • i forgot to mention that the differnce in donations is bc john mccain stuck to the pledge to use public finacing, unlike the liar barak obama

  • what point is she trying to make? Is it that republicans are in the back pocket of corps? If it is then som1 needs to remind her who the top donors 2 barak obama's 08 campaign, corps like goldman sachs-1 million, jp morgan and chase-800k, citi group-730k. If you look at the top 10 contributors to both mcain and obamas 08 campaigns you will see that they both got money from essentially the same corps but barak obama got on average 2-3 times more per donation, u can find it at OPENSECRETS(dot)ORG

  • Wrong bobyda there are a lot more than 138 mill taxpayers and income taxes are not the only tax out there

  • Yes Rachel, "many of the biggest paid nothing". According to Edward D. Kleinbard, a law professor at the USC LA. “They devote enormous resources first to moving income to tax havens, and then to bringing those profits back to the U.S. at the lowest possible tax cost.” The argument for lower rates says that if we lower corp rates, they won't "devote enormous resources..." just to lower their tax rate. Instead they will just pay the "fair" and competitive rate. I'm just saying.

  • @bobyda so instead of them spending all that money to exploit tax loopholes we should just lower their rate to 0%. brilliant fucking idea LOL.

the assumption is that they WANT to pay a "fair" rate. the reality is they don't want to pay anything. the CEOs of ge, citigroup and bank of america only care about 2 things: did we make a profit and how much and did our stock value go up. their jobs are dependent on those 2 things. paying taxes means less profit.

  • so what they didnt pay taxes cause they pushed it onto the consumer? or ................

  • As Rachel Maddow said, why is it so hard for people to understand the basic concept that if you give the government less money...the government has less money? Seriously? To that effect, lowering the higher echelon of America's income earners HAS BEEN PROVEN STATISTICALLY AND HISTORICALLY TO NOT INCREASE ECONOMIC GROWTH. I don't understand what is so hard about this.

  • Printing money the government doesn't have and giving it away is stealing from Paul to pay Peter.

  • Interesting. I presume this counts only the corporate tax (not sure what that means, is that like my individual income?) and not property, etc..?

  • this woman is just a kiddie. shes talking crap.

do you all really think, that ALL companies in america pays $0 in taxes? please. the MAJORITY of big corps are paying 35% or even 39%.

the corp tax should be like 20% and nothing more. for all. or even less.

  • If anyone wants the links to these stories, please view the description of my videos . At the end of most of my comments, I usually provide links to back up the claims in the video . If I don't , just request them, and I'll provide them .

  • Corporate pay 0% tax, So how much lower should it be? I suppose they should all get refunds LMFAO, Maybe every citizen should file as a corporation, beings the supreme court said corporations are people

  • Hey! Does anyone know where I can find the proof of this? tax sheets? studies? etc? Cause I thought this was true but no one believed me. Anyone have suggestions?

  • @wartburgknight This was based on a study from the GOA ( Government Accountability Office ) requested by Democratic senators Dorgan and Levin . The study showed a majority of corporations payed no taxes, not just Bank of America . The study was picked up by CNNMoneyWatch. I placed a pdf link to the study in my description of this video. Also I included a new link to the CNNMoney watch story . This story is old but it's new to allot of Americans who aren't aware of it .

  • @wartburgknight - no one can provide proof of this because it is false. 95% of Americans did not receive a tax cut. First of all, there are only 138m tax payers and 308m people in the US, so at the most, you could say that 95% of the 44% that file a return received a tax cut. However, all those "tax cuts" were offset by our loss of net worth in our homes due to TARP (TARP allows big banks to dump their "toxic assets" thus causing our home values to tank - good for fat cat banks, bad for us)

  • Another kick ass upload! You are the best, B

  • Republicans = lies, lies, lies...

  • @magiorey What lies are you talking about? The truth is that America DOES have high corporate tax rates. However, because tax rates are so high, it drives corporations to move their money off-shore to other countries where the rates are lower. If the US had low tax rates, then business would keep their money here and not have to play these games. Simple.

  • @Entropy56 The average American pays a higher percentage of his/her wages in tax than multimillion dollar corporations do on their profits, so if you're ok with the middle class funding the infrastructure the companies need to do bussiness but that its the governments JOB to provide, then that's your opinion, I think the companies should help cover the cost of providing and maintaining the infrastructure that THEY benefit from the most (highways, ports, energy, etc...)

  • @magiorey Keeping ON TOPIC with this video, show me where Republicans have lied. This is what YOU said and this what Rachel Maddow implied. However, none of the video clips of the Republicans, she showed, said that corporations actually pay high taxes. The Republicans simply said that the tax RATE is too high. What part of that do you not understand? If anyone is a liar, then Rachael is for her cunning misleading statements. You have to understand that she is a desperate political hack.

  • @magiorey The truth is, is that Republicans and Libertarians are fully aware of the problem. Search this: “The Global Race for Lower Corporate Tax Rates” and you will understand what the issue really is. Rachael and the Democrats are stupid if they don’t understand how the world is now a competitive market.

  • @Entropy56 - I don't think RM is stupid, she is just very closed minded. She seems to have disdain for anyone with an opinion that is different from her own. She should not hate people just because they see things from a different point of view. Note to Rachel - dont't be a closed minded hater!

She also thinks that 95% of Americans are stupid "you hope people don't notice the few extra dollars and they spend them" (otherwise those dopes will save them which does not create demand).

  • @magiorey Repblicans are not against all taxes as Libertarians are. Reducing corporate tax rate will actually bring in MORE money. And lowering individual tax rates will stimulate the economy. No one said that they are against the Obama tax cuts for individuals. We just need to be smarter about our tax laws. This is why Republicans are smarter than Democrats.
