I am seeking your advice on a good super automatic espresso machine that I will use primarily for making lattes (99% of the time). Originally I had decided on either the Jura Impressa C5 or Jura Ena 3/4 espresso machines. But then I saw one of your Jura reviews – in the video you stated that if you steam a lot of milk then the Jura line of espresso machines is not preferred / not recommended as the steam wand is flimsy and does not work to well.
@PhilDY6 No - you can program the water volume on this to be more or less so it sounds like the factory setting was set fairly short. You can re-program it very easily to the water volume you want. It will grind the same about of coffee for the extraction, however - Kat
I've been comparing superautomatics for awhile now. I'm leaning towards the Juras, especially the ena5 and this C5. Which one would u prefer? Are there any major difference in the coffee qualitywise? What about the overall functionality? Which one would u guys choose?
Is there anything better in the c5 besides the programmable buttons? I understood that u can't adjust the strenght of the coffee in the jura imressa c5?
@sarkynytlasi Mainly superauto improvements are about programmability and bells/whistles. I think if you need the extra programming (multiple users) this is a good choice over the Ena series (which has only 1 programmable default). You can override the strength in the coffee dosage each time you brew on the C5, just can't program it in. - Kat
@sarkynytlasi It's really just bells/whistles; their coffee is going to be identical, although we do like the steam wand on the C5 better -- more durable. The Ena wands have a nasty habit of shooting off over time. - Kat
that coffee looks a lot like the 'espresso' you can find in the netherlands, and i think that the machine is actually similar to those they have there. i also tried the superautomatics from saeco and in my opinion they're quite a lot better.
Yeah, the coffee flavor is a pretty subjective assessment -- when folks try them in the store side by side, it's about 50/50 which one they prefer taste-wise. - Kat

@cninham I'd recommend the Saeco or DeLonghi lines; the new DeLonghi compact machines work really well - Kat
