  • Igual ao meu.

  • I want to switch back to windows 7 tablet. What is the best way to upgrade?

  • For the Windows Vista one, I can format it and install the copy of windows 7 I already have?

  • @whitepen Yes you can. Use an external DVD drive or install windows from a USB hard drive or memory device.

  • TECLADO?

  • @luchorap85 Sure, you can plug in a keyboard via USB port, docking station, bluetooth etc. You can also use the on-screen keyboard.

  • I think I know the awnser, but for be sure... can it run macromedia flash???

  • @neggflash Yes.

  • i love window 7

  • can this use windows xp professional 64?

  • can it play crysis at max fps?

  • this is cool

  • @brillpog022 No, it's not a gaming machine. Intel HD Graphics is not designed for 3D gaming.

  • @oztabletpc

    are you suuuuure??

    :D

  • This isn't what I'm looking for exactly...but it is so much more than th iPad. I want a TABLET COMPUTER. One that can do computer stuff like compile and run programs, be used as a HDD, view web page source codes...etc.

  • Is this good for graphic design?

  • @RBproductionsRB It has includes a wacom digitiser which is great for graphic design and it has the best display of any Tablet that I have ever seen! That said, the larger Motion Computing J3500 would be a better bet for Graphic Designers..

  • they have these at my local verizon store

  • Can you use your finger on the screen?

  • @polaris911 This is not a touch tablet, rather a Wacom Active Digitizer only. Try the Motion Computing J3500 instead.

  • are these Tablet PCs for playing Games?I mean, these Games with cds I have to install...?I wanna buy me a Pc but I dont know, what I have to buy,Laptop,PC Tower or Tablet pc...Pls help me

  • @DevilsDaugther1972 This is not a computer for gaming. Best to stick to a tower pc if gaming is your thing.

  • @oztabletpc ahh thx for helping me..Yes I think a Pc Tower or Laptop is better....I am Woman, and If i have this Tablet pc....i wanna go crazy with so many Technics:)

  • @oztabletpc

Do you think Windows 7 would work well with a LE1600?

  • @Arabman666 It worked ok in LE1700, LE1600 might be a bit of a stretch.

  • try playing mw2 on it

  • @Zimiat It's not a gaming machine. Intel HD graphics is not designed that way.

  • @oztabletpc yea i know but it was just a joke ;)

  • I'm looking for a tablet that you can link to pc it's windows xp and can't find one if you know where to get one then please reply to this comment please

  • @kamilszyszka You can run XP on this but win 7 is much better.

  • @oztabletpc yes but im only looking for one to link to my pc and have it as a mouse by pen and never mind i found one it's bamboo craft

  • do u have to use the styles?

  • @jamesmx7 This particular model uses a Wacom Active Digitizer Pen. Others, like the Motion Computing J3500 include capactive touch so that you can operate it with your fingers.

The important point to note is that an active digitizer is the best technology for handwriting, note taking, data input and sketching.

  • I came for the tablet review and not windows review =.=

  • @Mrtassan It's there, towards the end. In summary, it's awesome. There is a new model since then anyway - F5v.

  • @Mrtassan there is almost nothing about windows :| mabye try watching it again :P

  • Can I run Adobe Photoshop CS5 on this tablet with windows7?

  • @npe3ugeHTa Yes, absolutely.

  • Depends on the model you choose and the software you are running, but most likely yes.

Bear in mind that many of these include a Wacom Active Digitizer with 256 levels of pressure sensitivity. Much faster and more accurate than a stylus... Current models use Intel Core i7 processors too, so quite powerful.

  • Is a tablet pc with Windows 7 good enough for drawing 2D (traditional) animation?

    Which one would you recommend?

  • is that a wire?

  • @littlebluebeatle No. As stated below-it is a tether to stop me losing the pen!

  • @oztabletpc ah ok sorry I didn't read. Thanks. I am loving it.

  • if only it didnt use the wire

  • @armydawg1292 The "wire" is actually a string tether and it is only installed to stop me losing the pen!

  • @oztabletpc i know lol does it come with the pc?

  • @armydawg1292 yes, but fitting it is optional.

  • @oztabletpc o NICE! then lol so now the decision this or the ipad? wat do u think

  • @armydawg1292 Incredibly different devices. I have an ipad for play, but it's next to useless for work. New version of this tablet has Intel Core i7 and easily replaces a laptop. lt's also rugged whereas the iPad is very breakable. It runs desktop applications, does note taking and has handwriting recognition. So this is a work / productivity device and iPad is a gaming platform.

  • @armydawg1292 how much is this? how much is the delivery charge?

  • @zenzen100477 Check with Motion Computing in your country.

  • omg... that's flippin' fast! that's a tablet!... i gonna work hard to get this stuff! god!

  • Good god that's fantastic!... Especially the finger print bit!

    But I can't afford that... ;_;

  • great video. .. just a question

how can i upgrade, from vista to windows 7 without a usb?

    thanks

  • @kokex For this Tablet PC you will need a docking station (desktop or vehicle) or a USB/Ethernet Port Bar. There may be another way but it would be quite complicated... The new model has a USB port on it.

  • Three Questions

    1. How can I get a Win 7 Tablet?

    2. How much is it?

    3. Is it even released yet?

I just love the idea of a PC Tablet. I've tried the ipad its okay but I'd love to have a Windows 7 Tablet.

  • @hockeyguy731 1 and 2. Search around - Motion Computing have a Canadian website which will list places you can buy and pricing.

    3. Yes but only for 2 years now... ;-) Tablets like this for about 8 years now.

As cool as it is, this is nothing like an ipad (ie it is a ruggedised work tool, not a toy), so you might be surprised at the pricing.

If you're looking for a cheap "Consumer" slate device like the ipad, wait a couple of months and they will be plentiful.

  • Thats pretty cool. I would like to get one of those.

  • This is so much better than the ipad.

  • how can i get one (in us)

  • how much is it?

  • @MissSushi123 the price is around $2000, its the fastest tablet in the world right now.. because it runs on i7 intel processor.. great stuff anyway

  • @dikajenny That is approximate US pricing - correct. There are many options to consider like i5 or i7 processor, SSD or HDD, 3G + GPS, Barcode Reader, RFID, Docking Stations, Carry Options etc, so the price will vary depending on your needs. In other countries the pricing will be different.

Good point about the processor too. The J3500 and the new F5v both have the option of the Intel Core i7 and it rocks!

  • yeah, guess i have to wait for a couple month and sell my damn Toy Ipad..

  • what tablet is that?

  • @shabs124 Motion Computing F5

  • why get an ipad?

  • Very nice!

  • Apple if you're watching this seriously the ipad isn't a tablet its shit

  • Love this device already. Will consider buying one for uni! (Well, a device from the same line of tablets in 2013).

    And, woops? at 8:31 ? #lol

  • @RandomAwe hehe, my finger has an identity crisis...

  • @oztabletpc ^_^ By the way, which device do you think would be more suitable: This device (Whatever it'll be called in 2013), or the toshiba portege (the one with finger touch support). Money won't be an issue with the Australian Airforce/Navy.

  • @RandomAwe This by far for defence applications... This is currently used by the ADF and some engineering contractors in Iraq. Also have an RAAF FA-18 Instructor using the older version of this...

  • hey oztabletpc, do you know if the Motion J3400 has the same pressure capabilities that this one has? I've been searching everywhere but just can't find information on it.

I got decided to buy this tablet when I saw this @6:12 but I went to their website and fell in love with the Motion J3400 but i really wanna make sure it has pressure sensitivity.

I wanna use this for the road to paint and 3d sculpt in zbrush

    hope you see this, thx.

  • @Apostacious Hi There, Yes the J3400 uses the same Wacom Active Digitizer and also has the same Hydis AFFS+ display. I am using one right now and it is awesome!

  • @oztabletpc Great! thank you very much :D

I can picture my self backpacking trough various parts of the world with my J3400 :)

    thanks again.

  • Ah, I understand your point but what I'm saying is these things can do everything the ipad can do plus way more.

  • iPad killer.

  • @moneyquickeasy Very different beast. New model has Intel Core i7 processor and better battery life. Processing power of 10-15 ipads so it is not really in the same class at all.

I have an iPad too, and it is a great machine, but has an entirely seperate entertainment purpose that is not work related.

  • @moconne1234 Yes, Motion Computing is an international company with UK resellers. Check the website for details.

  • can u buy this?? is there anything like this for sale in the UK???

  • can u also use ur finger on d tablet or do u always hav 2 use d pen?

  • @maximilianbeggel This a wacom active digitizer tablet, and it does not have a touch screen component, so it requires the pen. The pen is proximity and pressure sensitive. It is ideal for note taking and fast, accurate input. Touch adds some convenience, but is not really needed on this tablet PC.

There are plenty of other tablets that do include touch.

  • argh i want one lol

  • I know your probably not interested in selling, but if you are, id love to get a deal set up. Just send me a message

  • i hope windows come with a computer like ipad, but better

  • wireless pen??

  • the pen remembers me the thomson Thomson To7. A computer that has been launched almost 30 years ago !!

  • Yeah iPad and Mac OSX sucks. Windows all the way!!!

  • You've got 2 please give me one.

  • @RMCKIE hehe... hmmm

  • If some one was looking for an alternative to the iPad, would you recommend something like this?

  • @Disthron Probably not. This is a rugged field tablet PC. It has a laptop style core 2 duo processor and could be used to replace a laptop or a desktop. I use it as my main computer with Office 2010.

So it is not really comparable to a device like the iPad (which i will have here soon to show you). iPad is really an entertainment machine - I think of it as a a non-gamers ps3 or Xbox. The Motion F5 is a work horse for working anywhere!

  • @oztabletpc It's just that everyone is going ape scat over this iPad thing. I found a product called the Nav 9 Slate PC witch seems to have a LOT more features for only $100 more.

  • @Disthron Thats great, but beware that the Nav 9 is a touch screen only. Windows really becomes superior with both an active digitizer pen and a touch screen.

In fact any tablet with an active digitzer is worth far more than 150,000 blown up iPhone apps (most of which are just repackaged web pages). A Tablet with an active digitizer like this one makes an awesome note taking, web browsing and content creation machine. iPad and for that matter Nav 9 are consumption machines.

  • @oztabletpc Also, if you do go down that path, make sure you don't get Windows 7 starter - it doesn't have the neccessary Tablet PC features.

Later in the year, there are some awesome consumer slate Tablets coming out with both an active digitizer and a touch screen. The HP slate is one of them, and there are some others that I can't tell you about yet... So I think it is a good idea to wait for a slate!

  • @oztabletpc Interesting, thanks for the heads up. I have a Netbook with Win7 starter it works fine but is apparently missing features.

I had heard of the HP slate, it also looks interesting. So how long have tablet/slate PCs been around for?

  • @Disthron 20 years in different forms. In the common form that you see here since about 2002. They are a well developed and refined product after 6-7 generations now...

  • @oztabletpc Well, if I was going to get a slate PC it would be as a consumer. However I had heard that you could use the Nav 9 as a graphics tablet, with a pen, for drawing if you wished, is that not true?

Also, can't you plug in a keyboard and mouse, using the USB ports, if you wish?

  • @Disthron For sure, you can plug anything into the USB ports. As far as I can tell from their website, the Nav 9 is not a graphics tablet, just a capacitive touch screen like the iPad.

There will be consumer slates out later in the year that include the graphics tablet (aka active digitizer). They do include pressure sensitivity and proximity like the tablet in this video.

  • What kind of touchscreen is that ? Can i use fingers or it only work with pen?

  • @ntr2489 This tablet does not include a touchscreen. It has a Wacom Active digitizer and it uses a pen. It is pressure and proximity sensitive and designed for handwriting input, sketching and drawing.

There are plenty of other Windows Tablet PCs that do have touch screens, and some that have both digitiser and touch.

  • Thanks.

  • are you able to create a personal font using your own handwriting?

  • @GeminiAzules Yes, there was a free Microsoft Powertoy that allowed you to do that for Windows XP Tablet Edition. I'm not sure if it works on windows 7, but I would assume that you could run it under XP mode if all else fails. There would also be plenty of font creation software that would allow you to do that too.

  • win 7 has his own program to make your handwritting recognized....;)

  • @djrazvanel yes, that's what the video is all about. Windows Vista had it too, and so did Windows XP. It's been around nearly 10 years.

  • are you able to create a personal font using your own handwriting?

  • Even though i like apple... i would prefer this over an ipad anytime, at least because it has an full sized OS (:

  • does it have usb port and does it work any old photoshop softwares.....tht would be great.....??

  • USB port via accessary. Photoshop works fine. The tablet is Wacom, so pressure sensitivity works in photoshop too.

  • Thanks for the info. :) Really needed to know Ciao....

  • @oztabletpc nice! soi won't need my intuos 4 now

  • ok so i dont want the ipad anymore DX it sucks after doing my research so i wanna know how much this one cost

  • Visit the motion computing website in the US for pricing, or call us on 03 9012 6602 within Australia.

  • whats the name of the tablet your using?

  • Motion Computing F5

  • i have several tablets, including an X-61, and sorry, but they suck. If MS's different departments would work together to incorporate their apps WITH tablet properties then we might have something. Ever seen such a convoluted method for entering text? My life is too short for that crap. I'm ordering an iPad.

  • I'm not particularly impressed with Lenovo's tablets to date, even the x200t. As for MS, you are dead right right that they need to lift their game to improve tablet capabilities in apps.

Good luck with the iPad. I'll be getting one too, but I think it's a big step backwards.

Windows 7 is a serious step forward for tablets, and for me and many others a digitiser pen and the tablet pc input panel is about twice as fast as an iPhone / iPad style virtual keyboard (20 wpm compared to 40 wpm).

  • Another thing that we do find is that despite the limitations, there are a lot of features of Windows and Office that are designed for pen like the Access-Infopath integration but people (even tablet owners) often aren't aware of them. Infopath allows you to fill out digital forms directly in your own handwriting.

PS, this comment was hand written on a Motion C5 with Win 7 , Mobile Broadband from a couch in a hotel in Perth, Australia!

  • wait what?

so by your logic having an operating system specially designed for multi touch and with apps written for multi touch is a "big step backwards"

but you think throwing an resource hungry os (compared to say linux) , that was designed for mouse/keyboard (with apps designed for the same input) is a step forward

    do you get my point?

  • I get your opinion, but you missed my point completely.

Most current Tablet users understand the value of pen input and inking. That is completely missing on iPad leaving the input possibilities to simply an on-screen keyboard. That is very limited and slow for a business Tablet device. Great for browsing the web and sending short emails though... It's not a commentary on apple vs MS, but Pen vs Touch vs Pen/Touch.

  • what makes you think the ipad cant use a stylus , there are hundreds of them for the iphone

  • Sorry, but you are showing your inexperience here. A Tablet PC pen is an active digitizer with proximity and pressure sensitivity, not a dumb stick. A stylus on a touch screen is not half of the experience of a digiral pen.

    Not even close... try again.

  • as long as you can draw charts/write notes i dont see the problem

anyway the experience of the tool used for input might be better on this kind of tablet but it doesnt change the crappy user experience you get from using windows (especially on a tablet)

  • Aaaah. Well that is the point now isn't it. "As long as you can draw charts / write notes". And doing that with touch is a very crappy experience. I have several touch only devices here, and I go for the digitiser tablets every time.

Your opinion about crappy user interface is your opinion, but as a 10 year tablet user I disagree. Works magnificently with a digitser pen due to its pointing accuracy.

  • And let's not forget handwriting recognition (next to useless with touch) that allows me to write at 40 wpm as opposed to 20 wpm for a touch keyboard.

And 20 wpm will slow down considerably when standing or sitting in an akward position - due to the extra distance you have to travel to the keys with one hand.

Did you see Stevie J trying to type with the iPad in his lap? Not exactly comfortable... Handwriting on a Tablet PC is comfortable and fast, no matter where you are.

  • the thing is that the average user doesnt want to use a stylus on a tablet , they would rather use their finger

also i think the ipad would provide a way better user experience for the average costumer because its designed for muti touch , theres no hassle with needing antiviruses or blocking the stupid firewall from popping out every few seconds and apps are specifically designed for multitouch , not like windows ones

  • Says who? The average user has never seen, let alone touched a Tablet PC. I know, I deal with them every single day.

Average user goes to see a Tablet at the shop and if by miracle they find one the store has taken away the pen - theft risk! They simply don't have any experience to make that call!

Many of our Tablets have multi-touch as well and active pen which is ideal. As for the dumb ol' anti-virus argument... pfft!

I'm tipping that you have never touched a windows Tablet too.

  • i disagree.. i would LOVE to use a stylus on a tablet...its way more accurate..and much easier to draw with ... like trying to write kanji with ur finger on a tablet? hahah, that would suck

  • @xleo21 are you sure the ipad can use pens ? cuz i would like to install sketchbookpro pn a ipad and start drawing

  • What you can do with a capacitive touch screen is get a kind of stylus called a pogo stick (I think there's one called a sausage too). Trouble is, they are .5 to 1 cm thick at the tip (which must be pressed flat against the screen).

So if you can imagine... It is like drawing with a crayon (only less effective because there is no pressure sensitivity). In other words, iPad will be great for kindergarten! Lol

  • Good luck with the ipad. I hear it might actually let you do something, but not a lot

  • What computer is that? I am interested in one

  • Motion Computing F5 Tablet PC

  • can be handy for geeks on train and bus.....

btw your drawing is laggy LOL

  • Must be the video... The Wacom tablet is very fast and accurate I especially when compared to a touch screen which doesn't handle fast ink input well at all.

  • how much is it ?

  • you know it its expensive when they want you to fill out a form just to get a price quote. I usually just move on when i see something like that on a webpage

  • That all depends on what expensive means to you... If you mean that you'll pay more than a cheap netbook, then yes you are right... Most of our customers realize a very fast and high ROI.

We don't list prices on our website for 2 reasons:

1, We are a solution provider and not a cheap dodgy box mover (i.e. you actually get support and assistance).

2, We are in Australia. Check the motion website if you are in the US - prices are listed. In Australia, contact us.

  • That's a cool tablet but the handle makes it look damn ugly.

  • In the eye of the beholder... The handle makes it fantastic to carry though.

  • tablets cant be used efficiently during travel... typing is an essential thing and you dont want to hurt your back bending over to see what you're typing or holding the thing with onehand and type with one hand....

  • What are you talking about??? You've obviously never used a Tablet... They are in fact the most efficient things to use on public transport and on planes. You hold with one hand and input with handwriting at up to 40 wpm... Easier than typing on a laptop, trying to balance it and fit it behind the seat in front of you. I've used all sorts of Tablets, UMPCs and laptops on transport for years now, and the best I have ever found is the Motion F5.

  • All I need is a tabletPC that looks like an iPad, but runs Win7 flawlessly, and can use a pen and mutlitouch finger, whatever I want at the time. Thats all I ask for. Please, make it happen.

  • hear hear! My sentiments too. Hopefully some of the manufacturers will make this happen this year.

Keep an eye on Motion Computing too. I have a feeling that they might do something to fill that space!

  • ...why does it matter whether it looks like an iPad?

  • Mark my words, Tablet PCs are the future

  • even though the ipad isn't a real computer, it's A LOT better looking then these

  • Ummm, yeah, and as the council health office is walking into a restraunt to do an inspection with this I have no doubt that they would pull it out and think wow, how cool does this look.

These are actual productive work computers, not toys. Get it?

Apps for this: Mines, Defence, Local Government, Field workers, Engineers, Builders, Architechts, Warehouses, Sales reps.

    Apps for iPad: Toilet, Couch.

    Behold the beauty!

  • Haha, well said

  • Why is everyone comparing this to the IPad!!!

THE IPAD IS NOT A REAL COMPUTER!!!

  • @08315 so what is it made for?

  • Awesome

  • this is a real tablet PC, not the ipad

  • Very thorough video and a great device. I would to have love a device like this were I in a field that they would have some use, lol.

I love how all of the "Apple FTW!" comments immediately died on the 27th. Keep up the great job of putting up with commenters and posting intelligent answers.

  • It seems that the number of words per minute that you could enter using the recognition software is much less than regular typing. I doubt you would write 20 words per minute without mistakes.

  • I just tested it on a Motion C5 with win7 = 36 wpm

  • And I ran that test sitting in my parked car in Melbourne city, resting on the steering wheel and using 21 mbps mobile broadband!

  • In fact, the best I could achieve on the iPhone virtual keyboard was 20 wpm. I use it daily and am very quick at it... That is a significant shortfall. I have also tried touch typing on the Fujitsu T4310 with its multi-touchscreen, but of course you have to set it down to do that, and you might as well are the keyboard.

  • could you use your fingers?

  • This device is not a touch screen, but there are plenty of windows tablets that are...

  • Very responsive, and impressive... though the design is sort of odd to say the least.

  • Yes, the design is different. That's because it is based on the Intel Mobile Clinical Assistant design - designed to replace clipboards in hostpitals.

It has been adapted for field use, so this is not the sort of Tablet that you would normally use on the couch - although personally I do ;-).

  • Well, if you don't liek the onscreen keyboard, you can use the Apple Wireless Keyboard, or you can use The dock, so you can put it straight up, and type, but, I would recommend the keyboard, I dont want to get tired of my arm!

  • So how do you draw and sketch on it? How do you take notes? How do you input using handwriting? The Apple iPad missed a huge opportunity to revolutionise the slate. It will sell sure, but it's nothing new and that's dissapointing.

  • Maybe there will be an app for drawing, you can take notes in the Notes App, included in the iPad, but, yes, you can't hand write. But remember it's the first generation of iPad's, Apple improves their products constantly

  • There are several apps on the iPhone for drawing, however the lack of a precise instrument like a wacom Pen and pressure sensitivity makes them very ineffective.

The lack of handwriting points to the iPod consumer philosophy. Apple don't want you to create stuff on these devices, they make money when you consume it...

  • Yes, you're right. It would be better a wacom Pen, but, remember it's the first generation. Apple is changing, like their prices, iPad starting at $499!. You don't know if there will be a wacom adaptor or something like that or an improvement in the multitouch technology.

  • Sure there will be improvements one day, but again, the spirit of the device is consumption. Buy more apps, videos and music from Apple. It is not in Apple's interest to build in productivity.

BTW, A wacom digitiser is built into the screen, not something that you can add on later. What we do know is that version 1 iPad will never have it.

  • You're right. But what business does not want to sell?

Oh and thanks for the detail about the Wacom Digitiser that is built into the screen.
