  • Landau's performance was hilarious - that poor guy had NO IDEA what was coming to him...But does Bela need 5 minutes to calm down and cool himself off?....." Bullshit. Im ready NOW! Roll the Camera! "..... What a Pro! LOL.

  • This was a great movie, but in interviews I've read (no I'm not trolling or ever will be a troll) they say Lugosi was a kind man. He never swore nor did he hate Karloff, they just kept an amicable relationship.

  • Playing Frankenstein does actually take talent. Karloff had presence, he was sinister, but also sympathetic.

It also takes talent to play Godzilla too, and the first movie has the best Godzilla over all.

  • Martin Landau is insanely good in this movie. It's hard to play Bela Lugosi without overacting a little bit, and he pulled it off perfectly.

  • He makes a good point, anyone could have been Frankenstein.

  • isn't the AD Johnny Depp ?

  • @4domystic You mean assistant director? Johnnny Depp plays Ed Wood, who is the actual director.

  • Martin Landu wasn't playing Lugosi.

    He WAS Lugosi.

  • in other news...this video is 5 years old yet looks to be in ridiculously high quality

  • Priceless. Fucking priceless.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shit was funny as hell when they used it on THE HOWARD STERN SHOW

  • Comment removed

  • @downfallzawesome why are you dragging rebecca black into this?

  • six people smelled Bela Lugosi's shit

  • oscar performance

  • Landau was NEVER better than he was in this movie.

  • Of course! Dracula requries PRESENCE! Its all in the eyes and the voice and the hands!

  • Hahaha I love the way they abuse this bit in the Howard Stern show.

"Karloff does not deserve to smell my shiet!"

  • Check DRACULA Full Movie on ANTONPICTURES channel. Thank You. George Anton in COLOR!

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Ed wood wasn't a bad director..

He just didn't have the money to make a-grade movies.

  • @Hendrix15642 I don't know--even when a scene was obviously flawed, Ed seldom ordered a re-take. He was a pretty bad director, but I don't think he was the worst. But I think you're right about his budget limitations hurting his movies.

  • @galoon Indeed, Ed Wood was far, really far from being the worst director ever... Try and look up for Çetin İnanç, for instance, the man who's infamous for directing the Turkish Star Wars... Now this is bad. >.> Anyway, great movie (Ed Wood) and Martin Landau is awesome.

  • @AlexDraco Thanks for telling me about the Turkish Star Wars! Man, that IS awful. You know you're looking at a bad Star Wars ripoff when Ernie Fosselius's Hardware Wars looks like the original movie by comparison!

  • I wonder how Legosi would react to Edward Cullen

  • I love it-never heard Martin cuss before!!

  • "I'm telling Carl"

  • 0:29

    ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! hilarious line right there!

  • "BWOOL-SHit" LOl

  • "That limey cock sucker can rot in hell"! LMAO

  • "Karloff doesn't deserve to smell my shit!" -- Best movie line EVER!!!

  • I'm a big fan of Misson: Impossible as well as Martin Landau, but the accent here is similar to several alter egos he potrayed in MI, so it wasn't that much of a strech for him to do Legosi. However he did deserve that Oscar

  • Has anyone here actually seen "The Invisible Ray"?

Johnny Depp is one of the world's greatest actors, I love him , he can do anything.

    He's amazingly versatile.

  • @edko426 The Invisible Ray is a great film, but if you want to see a film where Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi are both amazing you watch The Raven. Boris Karloff and Bela Logosi made many great film together dispite that Lugosi hated Karloff.

  • @johnyboytrack29 -They were never enemies, nor friends, just co-workers- according to many who worked on their films. You see them together in "The Raven", "The Black Cat", and a comedy "You'll Find Out", there's a chemistry, enemies wouldn't have. Still, this is a great piece. Depp calming down Landau is comedy gold.

If you want to see on-screen discomfort, watch the last couple of Martin and Lewis films!

  • "Twilight? Sparkles? FUCK YOU!!!"

  • @HawaiiKnut LMAO almost fell off my chair

  • BULLSHIT! I'M READY NOW, ROLL THE CAMERA!

    Lugosi was hardcore.

  • In real life Karloff and Lugosi was friends, this was just hillarious it was not seriously at all lol

  • The four people who gave this a thumbs down do not deserve to smell my shit.

  • he he he!!!!

  • Just like Bela.

  • Karloff?

    Sidekick?

    FUCK YOU!!!!

  • fantastic :d

  • I hear "Fuck you!" on 'The Howard Stern Radio Show', all the time.; Love it!

  • Today my teacher mistoke Bela Lugosi for Karloff. I wanted to quote this scene, but I knew it would get me kicked out of school.

  • @shenron204 LOL!

  • Message to the four dislikers:

    FUCK YOU!!!

  • LOL now I know I shouldn't speak about Karloff in the prescence of Martin Landau

  • i just love how the FUCK YOU came out of nowhere

  • I wanna FUCK YOU like an animal

  • This is brilliant. Funnier than Hell. Landau's greatest film role.

  • The greatest movie in the world!!

  • i thought this was bela lugosi...

  • Bullshit!

  • "HOW DARE THAT ASSHOLE BRING UP KARLOFF!"

  • His face @ 1:06 is just epic.

  • One of the best clips!

Howard Stern's crew made one of the best phony phone calls using this scene

  • "FUCK YOU!!!!":DDDD

  • Bullshit! I'm ready now!! Roll the camera!

  • ''fuck you''

    ''limely co**sucker''

martin as bela is awsome as well, he did a good job.

  • Whenever I watch this movie again, I start bursting into laughter when Bela says "Karloff...?" because I know all too well what's coming next.

  • @funkynubman I'd never seen that before and I knew what was coming.....

  • best movie scene EVER.

  • "It's all makeup and grrr!" lmao

  • Was Bela really like this?

He was such a tragic figure. I plan on reading more on him

  • @darkhyena sorta of, he was under drug addiction when he was filming glen or glenda

  • marty landau did a simply historic, legendary job with this - thanks tim & john!!!

  • LOL at Johnny Deep´s face when Bela tell him that the fan bring up Karloff.

  • Its all makeup and burrrgh!!!

  • I can watch this over and over....I love this movie .....I love those lines you hardly hear that in american cinema.

  • I real life though, they got along. Sure they did have disagrements, and they did have issues with each other, but they did become friends.

  • ok im 13 & i love thismovie.

  • Man did he deserve the award he got for this role. And just the way they added foam and latex to capture that perfect Lugosi profile. The makeup team on this movie should have gotten something as well.

  • Sidekick???!!!!

  • FUCK YOU!

  • Karloff did not deserve to smell my shit!!

  • I saw this movie, this scene was funnier than shit. I rememebr it to this day.

    Martin Landau is wonderful !!!!!!

    Thanks for posting

  • Karloff?

  • PULL THE STRING

  • damn, martin landau was good! i can't believe i didn't see this movie!

  • Oh one more thing: I do know from reading books that he didn't get the role of The Monster (until Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman) which at the time was fine with him but later took any role after Karloff's fame leading to him having to resort to Wood. He still was a fantastic actor though. Martin Landau also gains points for playing him. He's hilarious! Rick Baker also did great at making him look like him and recording in books how despite the challenge by facial difference he did it.

  • WOw I've unfortunately never seen this, but watching this one clip I know I shoudl. I'm a HUGE fan of the classic monster movies and Karloff, Lugosi, and Chaney (Senior and Junior) were all fantastic. On imdb it says they weren't really enemies and were only rivals for films (although he did say once in his drug fantasies that Karloff was he Boogeyman out for him.

  • No joke.

  • CLASSIC!!!!

  • Great performance

  • Howard Stern uses this scene to make some epic phony phone calls.

    EXCUSE MEEE!!!!!!

  • Thats the best scene in the movie... FUCK YOU!!!!!!

  • The is Tim Burton's best movie

  • The fella here asking for the autograph is Conrad Brooks. I have talked several times to the real Conrad and he has told me this absolutely never happened. In fact the autographed picture he sent me is of him and Bella all smiles together.

  • Did Bela Lugosi really hate Karloff?

  • Yes and no... You see, ever since Frankenstein, Karloff has been preferred more than Lugosi. Karloff had overshadowed Lugosi for years. Like in The Body Snatcher, where Lugosi worked with Karloff yet again for the last time, but was only given a very short, filler role. You can imagine the hate Lugosi had for Karloff. But I think there was no actual comment made by Lugosi saying he hated Karloff's guts.

  • This scene is HILARIOUS! good for you Mr Landau for pulling it off! Martin can do ANYTHING !!! Convincingly! Deserves Life time achievement oscar award!! (54 years in Hollywood...and going strong still!!!)

  • This movie is Fucking genius!

  • "Karloff? Sidekick? FUCK YOU!"

  • @TheGameTerminator "KARLOFF DOES NOT DESERVE TO SMELL MY SHIT!"

  • there is no other movie where you can hear Bela Lugosi calling Boris Karloff a cocksucker LOL

  • @QuietGiantProduction --correction--"a LIMEY cocksucker!"

  • bela is master and boris is master 'they worked well together' they had their talents. anyway bela gave the frankenstein monster to boris as he diddnt wanna do it. now cmon my good friends' lets not argue' for life is a many many splendored thing' as sure as my name is broadtrain.

  • Karloff does not deserve to smell my shit! YES!!!

  • This is really a brilliant, hysterically funny, beautifully timed and shot little scene. Landau really deserved his Oscar for this and as a nod to a career of great performances. "Nobody gives a fuck about Bela anymore!" he moans to Depp's Wood earlier in the film.

  • The woman who was the actual Vampira has said that BEla never cursed, but this portrayal is hilarious and ,at times, touching.

  • It is touching--it adds a human side to Bela; I think this dialogue was written as much for the purpose of feeling Bela's pain as for the humor! Martin Landau really did a great job portraying him. I don't know for sure whether Lugosi really swore or not--on the DVD commentary Tim Burton claims to have reliable information that he did.

  • FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like that moment.

  • I've seen two films with Lugosi and Karloff together: The Black Cat and Son of Frankenstein. In both, Karloff was good, but Lugosi stole every scene they did together.

  • lol "FACK YUO"

  • You are a moron.

  • Comment removed

  • No, you are a moron.

  • Just because Bela Lugosi rejected that role doesn't mean Karloff is more famous, you fucking moron.

Tell me, moron, did the Goth band Bauhaus record a classic song called "Boris Karloff's Dead"? No, so you are a moron.

  • Comment removed

  • that movie is so funny I love it

  • Fuck you!!!

  • Ba Ba Booey

  • Landau won the Oscar cause of this scene.

  • @Bassballz78 That's awesome. He totally deserved it. The whole movie felt like Lugosi had come back from the dead.

  • he cusses soo much! haha i wonder if the real Bela did. haha

  • LOVE this part lmao :D

  • The most hilarious scene in the whole movie! Lugosi is a legend! <3

  • Man this is hillarious! How he says fuck you and his face expression changes LMAO All Hail Lugosi!xD

  • The limey cocksucker!!!!!

  • hahahaha oh my god this si so funny!

  • carlof sidekick fuck you

  • BULLSHIT!

  • LOL! Too bad Ed Wood wasnt as good at directing as he was at conflict resolution!

  • hilarious! This film is underrated but Wood is the black sheep of Hollywood.

  • Landau was amazing in this movie.

  • Hi, this is Sal Governale.

  • hahaha, "unfortunately i made some comments on the wrap up show..." best apology ever, better than jackie's

  • I once had a drama teacher who was like Landau's Lugosi.

"It's all in the eyes and the voice...and the hand." lol

  • "Karloff? Sidekick? FUCK YOU!" LO-FUCKIN-L

  • It's true that Bela never swore but i think Martin did a wonderful job portraing him anyway.

  • That's what's so funny about it. Martin Landau is dead on as Lugosi when he's in character, but when he starts spewing curses it catches you off guard.

  • No. That's just stupid. There are tons of people who curse all the time, and it's funny to hear the Bela Lugosi voice screaming "FUCK YOU!". However, there aren't tons of people who go around pissing on other people's leg, and also, that's just stupid.

  • Many men expose their genitalia in public, they're known as "flashers." Martin Landau's Bela Lugosi could've flashed the film crew. Surely that would've made for side-splitting hilarity.

  • If I'm walking down the street and hear someone say fuck, it's not gonna catch my attention. Now if I see someone whip out their dick, it won't go unnoticed. Yeah there are flashers, but there isn't a term for people who curse because so many people do it.

  • Bela Lugosi wasn't a profane man. He wasn't a Hindu. He wasn't 7 feet tall and he didn't ride a camel to work. There are things that people find funny. Bela Lugosi, as portrayed by Landau, is now (and forever known) as a man who flew into obscene tirades. This is character-assassination.

  • THAT'S THE POINT! HE WASN'T A PROFANE MAN! Too hear someone so dead on as Lugosi all of a sudden jump out of character like that is hilarious!

  • Exactly! Bela would never curse like this, that's what's so hilarious!

  • "How dare that asshole bring up Karloff!"

    Hilarious!

  • Bela never used foul language, He was a gentleman.

  • A great preformance. You would never guess that this man is really Landau.

  • he won an oscar for his portrayal of Bela. well deserved.

  • This is my favorite scene in this whole movie.

And the "SHEET!" part while they're doing the hand trick. "You must be double jointed..."

  • ..."And you must be Hungarian."

  • whoa, big attack on karloff there

  • Yeah, Lugosi and Karloff were rivals. At least that was the way Lugosi thought of it when Karloff kept nabbing parts and Lugosi started acting into obscurity.

  • Karloff...

    Sidekick...

    FUCK YOU!

    LOL

  • was bela lugosi really that kind of an angry individual.

  • Actually, no. He was always a perfect gentleman.

  • Apparently Bela Lugosi never swore like this but it's still funny as hell XP

  • funniest Lugosi impersonation every.

  • Too bad they didnt get the real thing on camera

  • Karloff does not deserve to smell my shit! lol

  • Simply amazing. One of the best movies ever.

  • yet so underrated by general audiences.

  • Martin deserved his Oscar win for his performance! This scene was hilarious...and he gave some very touching scenes with Ed Wood (Johnny Depp) as well. But, then again, Martin ALWAYS delivers! He's one fantastic! Under rated actor...! He deserved 2 more wins in my opinion! Go Marty!!

  • Excuse me.I'm from Spain and i don't speak English very well. That word "limey", have in U.S. a defamatory intention?Thank you...

  • It's a slang term for someone from England.

  • No It`s a Tim

  • derogatory term for british, esp sailors

  • Thank you so much.

  • Limey is a term for british person esp a sailor. When sailors eat lime to prevent scrvy, a condition that you can contract if you have a vitamin C defenacy.

  • Thank you so much.

  • did you know that the expression "close but no cigar" comes from the fact that when someone was going to have a baby, he would give out cigars to his friends...get it?
