  • FIFA 11 COMMENTATOR!!!

  • omg the goal of borgethi at italia in the fifa world cup of 2002, ten years of this goal, i am for mexico and martyn tyler is the biges comentarist ever

  • Martin come back to AUSSIE TV! world cups aren't the same since you went to ESPN!

  • I get goosebumps every time I watch this video.

  • ian darke is beast too

  • @Siralexferguson10

    i agree 100%

  • Lets be real, the Super bowl or any sports championship in the US can not compare to the World Cup, like really, and Im an American

  • Borgetti

  • yooo wat the name of that player in 0:13

  • the espn announcers didnt sound exciting at all during the world cup. would often jus watch the spanish network

  • Martin Tyler is 1 million times better than Andy Gray

  • i want every soccer player to play the o line. they will stop bitching

  • lmao, american"football" the most viewed sport in the world, let me remind you that real FOOTBALL (soccer for you) is the most popular and most viewed sport in the world with over 3.5 blillion watching the world cup and over a billion watching the worldcup final, you should like me go and google some stats b4 saying stuff like that, and beside football is catching up in USA and other asian countries beside japan korea and china.

  • @capehorn1974 i know. 100 million viewers for the supebowl and 800 million watching the final of the world cup

  • "Martin Tyler here to describe for you"

"Andy Gray to analyze for you"

  • What's super bowl? is that a tasty cereal you guys eat in north america?

  • @Iaruku can tell if you are kidding, but it is the american football (not futbol) chamionship. it is the most viewed event in the world. (bigger than the world cup final, suprisingly. For most amreicans, it is their world cup, because not many people enjoy futbol over here. I love both, but i like the world cup a tad more because it is once every 4 years. the super bowl is every year

  • @Iaruku I want to move back to Scotland. I am not a fan of North America. And I hate american Football. They don't even use their feet! Football is where it's at! WHO IS WATCHING THE 2013 BRASIL CONFIDENTIAL CUP????I AM!

  • @Iaruku Its called the Super Bowl, because of the shape of older stadiums, that why there' s stadiums with names like the Rose Bowl and others. It's just the name of the championship in the NFL. The most watched sport in North America. The most watched program ever actually.

  • @Iaruku lmaooo don't violate us,

  • 2014!

  • @Siralexferguson10 Thank you. Fuck american sports. Trashy shitbags. And OMG HOW ANNOYING IS THE NFL!?!?! Its full of drama, controversy, and fuckers bickering week after week. Omg!

  • bet-info.jimdo.com

    livescore, compare odds, .have fun!

  • @conquerone stfu faggot.

  • lol there are camershles

  • Martin Tyler is Great!!

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick - Dude you sound like youre a fat ass that sits behind your computer all day long insulting peole because you wish you had the energy to get up from your dirty ass bed to get that cookie youre craving......in case you didnt know, most of the players that are part of the NFL run faster than what you can think, and are in better shape than your mom and dad when they were getting busy to create your stupid fat ass!

  • I was disappointed with Martin Tyler this world cup. He seemed disinterested....

  • @psuitts11 Thank you! This guy had no enthusiasm in his voice. It really pissed me off because here I am thinking he was the next excellent commentator who can makes games 3x better, than he speaks in monotone the entire god damn game. I'd be great to have Ian Darke and John Harkes on the main games but then John makes too many american references and it gets annoying.

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick I honestly thought Darke was better than Tyler this world cup. I would have preferred JP Dellacamera over Tyler this World Cup. So disappointing.

My dream team would be Ian Darke and Kyle Martino (imo the next great American broadcasting hope)...

  • Stupid how people say American trash football is physically demanding. So what, those guys are huge, steroid using low lifes who cheat the system. Those guys can't run a half mile without using an oxygen mask. They're a joke. The majority of them are fat, overweight lineman who have lowly wives who sit through a 3 hours (1 hour of which are timeouts) of extravaganza and boredom. Get the hell outa here.

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick Oh and i got a question. If you hate amercicans so bad, then why the hell are you in this country? I could understand the ignorance of some americans and how alot of them just say we're the best, but what the hell is your problem that you have to go out of your way to insult this country. Why are you saying racial slurs? I dont know what happened to you but you really need to just calm down

  • u cant compare two different games. their both are good sport cant b bad. but i just hate the ignorance of usa for calling a football a soccer. in american football they play with hands and call it a football. They could come up with some other name than football.

  • Soccer<3 it the best sport in the world and deal with it. Your parents play soccer, ur grandpa plays soccer everyone plays soccer

  • I have one thing to say : a professional soccer player makes about 6 miles of sprints per match !!!

nothing to compare with any other sport !!!!

  • @viragisteESS 6miles/1.5hrs = 4mph. that's nothing but a brisk walking pace. trying playing basketball for 48minutes. the pace is much quicker and there is no offside rule to penalize a fast break.

  • FAIL. Notice he said "sprints", as in total of six miles per match. Since when does a "sprint" equate to averaging it out for 90 minutes? Since when is a sprint "a steady pace"? Anyway that's only for Forwards. The Mid-Fielders actually RUN 8 to 12 miles per match, depending on their tactic and formation.

And FYI, all Football sports have one sort of Offside Law or another. Rugby still has no Fwd Pass, and Gridiron's Fwd Pass is only from behind the Line of Scrimmage + there are "Onside" kicks.

  • @RingSight91 fail yourself. i'd like to see the actual data that says EACH player is sprinting 6 miles. you still failed to address basketball. that is true constant movement. you have to play offense and defense. also, the offside rule in american football is very different from that of soccer. being offside depends on when the ball is snapped, not when the ball is passed.

  • @rcdny Nobody said "each", but at the top levels they all do "run" the distances cited, some more than the rest. Look-up Soccer + "Physiological Demands & Match Performance Analysis".

Of course the Offside in Gridiron is different from Association, they're different games, duh. Point is, they both have some sort of Offensive Handicap in Relation to the Ball, that way nobody on the Offense without the ball is unduly nearer to the goal than the Defense. Been true since at least 1863.

  • @RingSight91 the offside rule in american football doesnt artificially slow down the game by the defense. there is no version of an offside trap in american football. fastest man to the ball wins. you still havent addressed the physical demand of basketball players vs soccer players.

  • @rcdny If you'll re-read everything, you'll notice I didn't even touch any matter about Basketball, neither do I care to. But maybe when it takes out TV time-outs and imposes threats of permanently ejecting a player for fouls (like a Red Card), I might think about it. (cont.)

  • Just because it's called an "offside rule" in Grid doesn't mean it came from the same beginnings in Soccer. And if you'll do your homework, the Forward Throw Pass in Grid was ILLEGAL until the 1930s. It's a perversion of Rugby anyway so why hold that as some sort of shining example? What happened to "kicking" the FOOTball "forward" to advance the ball? Oh yeah, it survives only in the Punt Play. No wonder Offside Laws don't exist in Grid, unlike in ALL the other Football games.

  • >"there is no version of an offside trap in american football"

Hmm, you reaally think so? Then why cannot 'anyone' do a Forward Pass 'beyond' (Offside) the Line of Scrimmage? If it was just "fastest man to the ball wins", why cannot a RB, under defensive pressure, decide on the fly to fling the pigskin to an open WR ahead of him, who might be closer to goal?

All the focus is on him until he's downed or makes a TD. Admit it or not, that's also a handicap on the Offense to benefit the Defense.

  • @RingSight91 Americans are faggots. American football plays consist of a 7 second ball hussel and 45 second rest between plays. Fat fucking nigs can't even catch their breath within those 45 seconds either. Physically demanding? Bastards barely even run a half mile a game...stop with your garbage...you're embarrassing yourself.

  • @RingSight91 American trash spots are for fat, overweight whites.

  • USA NUMBER #1

  • Martin Tyler is the best sportscaster ever!!!

  • @madeinamerica650, Yes but it sounds like he was not interested during commentating the world cup. Ian Darke sounded like like he was having a fun time.

  • true that..football or basketball dont even close

  • 0:15 = Beauty!

    Poor Baggio..

    I KNOW MAN

I WAS 5 WHEN I SAW THAT GAME

I FELT PRETTY BAD FRO ITALY THAT DAY

  • SUPER BOWL ONLY GAY AMERICANS WATCH IT THE WORLD CUP IS ALL ABOUT EVERYONE ..

  • waz the name off the song

  • @jayjaykayode "Beautiful Day" by U2. Man that's been out since 2000. I take it you don't know Bono and the rest of the band?

  • EVERY SPORT PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE DECATHLON.

  • @CarpetMuncher1337 hah thats common sense lol =)

  • UEFA demolished the superbowl.

  • UEFA is WAY bigger than the superbowl too.

  • the world cup is huge, bigger than our superbowl which is almost impossiable but uefa and fifa seem to do it i cant wate to beat england go usa!!!! the yanks are comin to SA!!!!

  • I dont get i I dont care that much for martin tyler I woyuld of preferred Andy Gray

  • go mexico we can do it

  • The World Cup is a better EVENT, but when it comes to the actual SPORT itself, or the individual GAME, the Super Bowl is far superior. Who here believes the France/Italy final in 2006 was better than New England/New York or Arizona/Pittsburgh? Remember the Italy/Brazil 0-0 draw in 1994? What a championship match. Soccer is popular because of its simplicity and for the simple reason that the countries of the world had no other sport before Britain gave them football.

  • @RenShiWu that comment had to come from an american.. ... no matter if it's a world cup or not.... FOOTBALL(what u call soccer) is the most beautuful, played, followed, sport in the world..... ONLY the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL is even bigger than ur superbowl....

  • @RenShiWu gridiron is the most inferior game on the planet. 5 hours of fat guys and roid ragers stadning around.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @astrolux444 If soccer is so intriguing, why so much chanting and singing in the stands during a match? Obviously, the spectators are trying to entertain themselves given the dearth of action on the pitch. Hooliganism is another byproduct of the snoozefest that is soccer. Idle minds are the devil's workshop.

  • @RenShiWu The "chanting" and "singing" you complain about are part of the glorious atmosphere of football (what you call "soccer"). The fans involved do not partake because they are bored of what is going on on the pitch, but rather because it is customary for the fans to do so. Sure, there are times when matches are somewhat dull, but that is a triviality that can be extended to any sport, not only football.

  • @RenShiWu the chanting and singing in the stands is the fans showing their support for their team. cheering them on, giving them that bit of adrenaline to put the ball in the back of the net...you must be very thick if you do not understand such a basic concept

  • @astrolux444 On basic principle, football is inferior to soccer. Why? In soccer, you don't have fat overweight guys making a play for 2 seconds, having a rest for 5 minutes, taking another 5 minutes to get back on the field, and then going at it again, all while taking turns on the oxygen masks that are parked on the side of the bench. Soccer is hands down the most physically demanding sport in the world. Give me 5 football players that have the stamina to go a full 90 minutes of running

  • @sheva: That's confusing "physically demanding" with quality. I agree with you that football (soccer) is the greatest sport in the world, but the people who talk down to American Football fans are the same breed as the American who talks of soccer inferiority.

Sports don't become wildly popular without good characteristics. I came to appreciate American Football when I started to think of it as a chess match. Strategically, it has no rival.

And rugby is the most demanding sport, bar none.

  • @sheva056: And you clearly don't understand American Football if you think there aren't athletes in that sport who could go the full 90. American Football, unlike football, where you have a keeper and outfield players, is VERY specialized.

Nine of the 22 on a pitch at any given time are the strongest, most athletic fatties you've ever seen. Others combine size and speed. And receivers are pacey, world-class track athletes who would make great wing players in football. See the chess parallels?

  • @sheva056 Dude you have to be kidding. You cannot honestly say that soccer players run around for 90 straight minutes. They definitely walk at least half the time. I would put total conditioning required for a soccer player on par with a basketball player, but not the level of a marathon runner like all soccer players think they do.

  • @sheva056 Even though I am a big fan of World Football dude....Cornerbacks could defiantly last a whole game of soccer. So could running backs and Wide Receivers your telling me they are fat? You can think what you want and yes there are fat football players but there are some like Chris Johnson that could outrun any soccer player no questions asked.

  • Adrian peterson, devin hester, ahmad bradshaw, Antonio Cromartie, Reggie Bush, As much as i love soccer you cant say players in the NFL are all fat.American football is a game of strategy. There are plays which is why each play lasts about 6 sec. Each guy is a certain size for a certain postion. There are fast and more athletic guys. Then there a huge guys. American football players usually have a 10 year career which is far less than a soccer player. American football is physically demanding.

  • @AlphaMale593 You think any of these overweight, dumb-downed niggers can play soccer? Stop with this comparing black athletes garbage with amazing soccer players. Do you think any of those garbage, american football players can play with the Brazil team of 02? Don't know what I mean? Go watch some clips...fucking redneck.

  • uhh theres alot of players that could play soccer. i didnt say they could compete with a team. theres a reason why theyre playing that sport. Just like some soccer players cant compete with a team from the nfl. And if you read my comment i love soccer. im a huge fan. In fact i support england and Chelsea fc. Comments like yours are just plain ignorant. Theres no reason to call them niggers and generalize about people. Btw im from Jordan so im not a redneck you arrogant cunt.

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick try playing the the 1964 nebraska cornhuskers. that was the best team to ever play football. and yes i will say tht soccer is hard, but i want every bitchy soccer player to go play a game as a o-lineman or linebacker. you will then know pain and HARD work.

  • @sheva056 That's funny. I have NEVER seen soccer players play a full 90 minutes. Offsides calls, penalties, out of bounds, substitutions... and DIVING! That claim that they play 90 minutes straight is pure bullshit. One of those faggots gets hit with a light breeze it's like sniper fire to them, have to be carted off the field when they scratch their knee.

  • @usafbutters its funny how ignorant americans are towards an actual sport......yes I do live in the US but its funny how stupid your examples are! At least soccer fans have an attention span, and there doesnt have to be a commercial every 5 seconds! I'm not even going to argue with you, so have fun with your one-track mind.

  • @usafbutters do you know what stoppage time is?

  • have you heard of adrian peterson

  • @sheva056 have you heard of adrian peterson

  • @sheva056 Any form of race or marathon easily is more physically demanding then soccer. I would also place rugby and tennis ahead of soccer as well.

  • @sheva056 Dumbass!!! Your comment was from a year ago, i hoped you gained some logic since then. You relaize there only like 10 sec. in between each play, and each play can go longer than 10 sec. 2. Fat, overweight guys? theres 5 of them out of 22 players on the field. THey are also the strongest. 5 players who could last 90 min. Chad ochocinco, chris johnson, ladanian tomlinson, darren sproles, Ray lewis. there's 5 easy ones, with plenty more. You should learn about a sport before criticizing.

  • @sheva056 2, players only get that "special" treatment and all that equipment in the NFL, there paid way too much for them not to be taken care of. In college and high school ball they don't have them. Then again. the NFL is much faster and alot harder.

  • @sheva056 I like how you take the smallest part of football and say all of football is just that and exaggerate. Then take soccer, and make one statement which is not ture. You do not run the full 90 min. i've seen plenty of games, there's plenty of guys walking around catching their breath. I could easily ask, give me 5 soccer players that can sprint 20-30 yards+, jog back to the huddle, jog back out, then sprint another 30 yards, and do it 30-40 times straight. while, taking hits and blows.

  • @TheMagicBolt no...no...no....football has overweight people, that's why its easier to tackle. Bigger the mass, the more force you will have. Basic right? In soccer you run ALOT and therefore slim, in football you don't run a lot, therefore BIG. Catching up?

  • @mio68df You are incredibly wrong, go watch an NFL highlight. The only overweight ones are the linemen thats 5 of 22 players on the field, the collisions don't occur there, they occur between the two people with pads sprinting at each other. You don't run my ass. Football is an explosive sprint sport. Of course you would no nothing about it because you like to compare 2 sports without even knowing or playing it.

  • @RenShiWu Ahem, any WC Final involving Italy should not be cited as a "good example" of a Championship Match. That's just...common sense. Those guys invented the Deadbolt Defense. No wonder their Finals are boring. What happened to you not citing the 1998 and 2002 Final? Those were decent.

Fast Forward to now and tell me this last Final wasn't exciting. And for pure entertainment value on the field the Third-Places matches are way more fun than any DVR-sped-up Super Bowl match.

  • @CarpetMuncher1337 no way in hell

  • The people who compare the super bowl to THE GREATEST EVENT IN THE WORLD know nothing about futbol. This World Cup will be great. Vamos Spain!

  • does any1 know if there is any channels besides espn that will cover every match in the world cup? like fsc or goltv, abc anything? i would appreciate it thanx!!!

  • @jaaLA1991 for english in the usa. espn and abc.... but search online to see which game will be on espn or abc

  • /watch?v=XqwGFt2Uxa0

    WORLD CUP!!!

spread the word, the love, and the game!!!

  • hopefullly usa does well so espn doesnt just quit caring about soccer for 2 years

    they are making huge steps.

  • I almost cried watching this

  • I can't wait to hear his commentary!!!!!

  • ITALY

  • Martin Tyler.

    The icing on the cake.

  • Super Bowl is nowhere close to the World Cup. I would take the World Cup any day. Best time of the year. Can't wait!

  • super buette dont comp to world cup

  • Being from New Orleans we know more than anyone else in the United States at least about passion for a sports team (i.e. Saints bringing us our first Super Bowl championship ever this past February after Katrina) but even with that being the most watched super bowl ever, nothing compares to the passion or number of viewers the world cup gets... being that that is on a WORLD stage. Cant wait for it! GO USA!!

  • finally espn is playing their card right

  • Real football, can't wait for the World Cup!

  • Borgetti!

  • @rickuadra23 fuck yea. and that was a sick goal.

  • People should stop comparing a national competition like the super bowl; a competition between two states with a global competition like the world cup; a competition between countries. There is no contest here. The super Bowl is a national (USA) event that's all, the world cup is a global competition. 200 nations started the competition as far as 3 years ago, now we are left with the final 32 teams.

  • In what the super bowl makes in four years the World Cup makes three times more money than the super bowl in just one MONTH.

  • Is not soccer what is that? The right way to say is FUTBOL.

  • It'll be just like when I'm playing FIFA! :D

  • omg i cant wait. go spain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • there is not other sport that can compare with the passion of soccer.

  • i believe that the olympics don't even come close. hahahahahaha

  • Im a big super bowl fan, stanley cup fan, world series fan and an even bigger World Cup fan!!! There is nothing better than representing the blood that runs through your veins..and to cheer for your country!!! Viva Espana!

  • just jizzed

  • 2006 Superbowl between Steelers & Seahawks viewers- 90.7 million

2006 World Cup Final between France & Italy - 715 million with 26 billion in total watching some part of the Word Cup.

    Enough said...

  • @RS8715 hey dawg, last time i checked...world population is not quite 26 billion yet. might want to check your sources...just sayin. =)

  • Comment removed

  • @kshen7 idiot its the total aggregate of all matches watch. All 64 matches; the stats make sense

  • @kshen7 He said in total.. meaning throughout the whole competition there was a total of 26 billion viewers.

  • @RS8715 Nice stats. Where'd you get them? ESPN?

  • @emnevershouts Got the superbowl stat from an abc article and the soccer stat from fifa... so no not espn

  • @RS8715 Oh and the reason the World Cup is much more popular than the Superbowl is because football's an American thing and soccer's an International sport.

  • @RS8715 True, but given the fact that the Super Bowl captured 1/3.5 of its possible audience (America) and the World Cup captured 1/10 of its possible audience (the world) maybe it appears that the Super Bowl is able to capture a desired audience better? Just throwing it out there

  • @RS8715 Yeah in the USA.

  • @RS8715 football is national not global...

  • @RS8715 dude their is no 26 billion people in total in the world, about 1.5 and 3 billion people watched the game, impossible to come out with a accurate number, the sport is beyond awesome though!

  • @xxcrucificioxx Idiot, he said 26 billion people watched the worldcup off an on. Meaning I could've tuned in 10 times and count towards the whole total. Are you a retarded fuck? Bitch?

  • goose bumps!!

  • @manchesterrulesda a million times goose bumps.football is life.from Africa

  • @kudanemba Hell ya man!

  • I respect all teams, but go Germany!

  • does anybody know during which world cup is in 0:02? salut to the argentinian fans

  • whos the guy at :24?

  • @NiCoLeXx1 Fernando Torres!!! one of the best strikers!....well in the EPL that is. Villa scores more for the Spain NT than Torres.

  • @NiCoLeXx1 how do you not know who that is? that is kaka, he plays for brazil

  • @NiCoLeXx1 Ricky Kaka

  • ...I've seen days that defy all common sense, logic & physics...I've seen the MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES WC 2010 is here!!!!!

  • wow, this is gonna make this summer way better, espn made a FANTASTIC job by getting martin tyler, those other guys just wouldnt cut it AT ALL for whats to be THE BEST WC YET !!!! cheers !

  • YES! Finally, a commentator who actually knows and enjoys the game of football. so much better than these american espn commentators who never know what theyre talking about.

  • what is the song?

  • @Candyprincess80134 beautiful day by U2

  • Martin Tyler is so sickk!!!

  • Thrilled that we have Martin Tyler. Another summer of listening to Marcelo Balboa would not cut the mustard. Well done, ESPN.

  • wow someone actually gave this video a thumbs down.

  • encore you are so right....and I"m an American..I'd rather proper announcers

  • thank god somebody who finally knows soccer. i couldnt go through watching another match with dave obrien or john harkes and jp dellacamra. theyre all clowns

  • @dallascowboys124 WHAT? you mean you dont wanna hear Max Bretos yell "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!" again? lol

and us americans wonder why everyone else hates it when we have anything to do with football...(yes, i refrain at all costs to call it soccer)

  • i vote most epic commercial? yes? yes

  • Great commercial. ONE F--KING AMERICAN PLAYER WOULD BE NICE!

  • why would there be an american player in this commercial?

  • @kaanartis espns an american station, gotta give us some love hahah

  • ...great commercial!

  • Is Andy Gray coming back for the WC? I thought he was great on ESPN during Euro 2008. If ESPN could get Martin Tyler and Andy Gray together, that would be fantastic!

  • oooooooooooohhhhhhhh nelly....

  • Man! I love ESPN's line up of play by play commentators...JUST SUPERB. Atleats they learned from their WC 2006 fiasco! darke, Healey, Rae & above all Tyler!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @CarpetMuncher1337 superbowl!!!

    haha jk

  • Haha, super bowl's not even close

  • @Dani1love What's a super bowl? xP

  • Haha, something that most Americans think is the biggest sporting event everr.

Like I said, not even close.

    :)

  • @Dani1love i'm an american, i love the the super bowl, but as you say. it will never compare to the world cup. i had never watched the world cup til 2006, it pretty much changed my life.

  • That's great! It is an event that changes lives. It changed mine as well, it opened my eyes to a lot of things.

  • @Dani1love Soccer is much more exciting.

  • @donovan2010c superbowl does not even touch the whole wworld wide audience the fifa world cup does..... i love both sports but have to admit the WC is the bigger event

  • @juan1189 i kn i was just joking

  • As a spanish speaking person living in America having Steven Tyler for ESPN might have me watch it there instead on Univision because those announcers are not that good.

  • true to that!
