@gilgators ..And good parenting! The bottom line is watch any professional soccer game, very rarely does a player keep the ballmuch longer than 5 seconds.
@winter599 You're right. At this age, kids want to keep the ball as long as they can. Over time, they learn the importance of passing. It's a skill all professional players have.
Hi there i like your boys style :) if you look at the vid i have of my boy i think the differance between the young ones in the US is the space and time the players get. plus none of the vids i have seen had any slide tackles in which they do in England even at under 7 not something i agree with. but good luck too him
@judus100 - thanks for the nice comments! :-) Yes, I imagine the level of play in England at the youth level is quite high. Good observation about slide tackles. In many leagues in the US, they're called as a foul until age 10 and above. The goal is to avoid injuries, and have the young ones focus on developing their foot skills.
I don't really, sorry! I only have the videos of my son and most of them are just training kickabouts and skills sessions as it's frowned upon to try and record YOUR OWN SON playing football officially??? He plays for Burnley FC which are a pro club
He looks like he's got good natural talent! But the opposition looks terrible to be fair! Here in Manchester there is more competition than that at U5 tournaments
Thanks for the kind words, Barnie1967. Most of this video was him as a guest player in a U10 tournament. He was only 8 years old. It was a great experience for him to play against older, more experienced players.
Gilgators, This is your sons first season playing competive. He can't finish YET, but that will come next season. My son was the same way his first season in competive(The kid offence). After that, he went on to score 20 goals. Your son i see good stuff, he has good fights around the ball, he passes, he keeps his head up, he passes, then runs for a return pass. Tell him to keep dreaming, training, and all will come true. Good luck!
He sucks

Well done little dude! At least he passes the ball and isn't selfish like some of the other u8/u10 videos on here.

@winter599 Thanks. Many 8-10 year old don't realize how much passing is a part of the game. That's where good coaching comes in.
