your not ready for pointe, sorry and 2 classes of "ballet jazz" a week plus a pointe class is def. not enough class....you need to take class daily 2 a day if possible...find a studio that concentrates mainly in ballet. Any decent ballet studio would never include a "ballet jazz" class...sorry to burst your bubble. also, dancing on pointe is very dangerous if your not ready...
i think its amazing for a guy who wants to be en pointe. especially considering im also a male who has been doing pointe off and on the last two years. first question how long have youve been doing ballet? your ankles def need more strengthening and try not to hop onto your box. really pull up to sustain the form and the movement whether its doing a simple das de bourree or rising up to an arabesque. but def keep up with your pointe work, im sure youre going to do great.
Thank you so much, lord know this is an old video i'm way better now, my only problem is i don't do pointe long enough for my feet to keep the arch that it develops when i am dancing en pointe for long periods of pointe so i just enrolled in a ballet jazz class that i go twice a week and and a pointe class once a eek so i hope this will help. i know it will!!!!
you need to work on your point of your foot and pushing more on teh insoles. boys dont go on pointe ordinarily but there is no reason why they shouldnt in an age that is breaking more boundarys then are being created. what i will say is that you need to go on pointe from your bum down, everything should be drawn up and it wasnt sometimes. it was good tho so well done for that. also boys bone structure in their feet is different than girls whcih is y ppl dnt think they shud be on pointe.

Boys are not meant to be doin' pointe. It will put too much pressure on your ankles and even knees which will cause injuries in the future. Boys have a higher body mass which means there too heavy.
Uhm... so if you don't know what you're talking about don't comment cause it only makes u look less educated on the fact. Men were the first to wear pointe shoes.
i do know what im talkin' about. I'm a ballet dancer amongst other styles too. Actually a lady was the first to create pointe shoes, That's the reason why men have to jump even higher.
this is true, but its true about ballet period. if you are not properly placed nor properly trained, your body WILL suffer. However, with the proper placement and training, your body should be strong enough to withstand the anything ballet throws at it. With that said, pointe work is a part of ballet and with the proper training and placement your body can and will be strong enough for pointe shoes, weather you are a female or a male does not matter its all about your body's strength!
i just got my balances inn the mail!!!! on my gah' they are freaking awesome my feet look all kinds of suprima ballerina in them. im going to post a new vid friday.
thanx i now see how bad i was i just got through doing a ballet two week intermediate intensive and i was en pointe and i think from this video and now whats changed is my stength and technique and im a a little better getting a little on my box but my arches still look horrible.. and i've been using suprimas and one pair of grishkos my teacher says i need european balances and im about to start private pointe lessons so expect new vids up soon!!!
That's so cool. I've always had a really deep respect for boys who go en pointe. I hate when people think it's only for girls. It's the complete opposite. Men were the first dancers to actually dance en point. Back then women weren't even ALLOWED to do ballet. Keep up the good work.
You need to do a little bit better research before you try to sound like you know something. Ballet was invented by men, but pointe shoes didnt come along until much later, well after women had made their way into the art. Marie Taglioni was the first person on record to dance on pointe, and her shoes didnt have the hard box that you think of now. Hers were just satin slippers with a tiny bit of darning on the sides, nothing for her toes. She was one strong WOMAN. Kudos to all men strong enough!
you no your the first guy ive seen go en pointe, i didnt think guys could go en pointe, i thought it was just girls. im going en pointe in september and cant wait! does it hurt as much as they say it does?
I'm a girl but I thought I'd anwser anyway =) . If you're feet and ankles are strong enough , you can pull up correctly and you get correctly fitting shoes you should feel little to no pain =)
hahahahahaahahahahahaqhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah that was absolutely the most halarious thing but he is really good for a boy!!!!!!!!! lmao

Check out Les Ballet Trockadero. It's an all male ballet company and ALL of them have been dancing on pointe for years. And they're damn good too!
If the dancers body can sustain the eight...dance on!

'Trocs' are the guys who dress up as women and do all of the point work. It's comical ballet, very funny, but they are all excellent dancers too.

Pointe was first dance by men back in the 1600s. Women were'n even allowed to do it.
