  • great video. Thanks for not layering shitty music over it.

  • His laugh brings me a huge smile :-D

  • I don't understand people talking about it being great to get high or trip and listen to Ram Dass. One of his key subjects is his failure at achieving what he was looking for through drugs and having to move on to different forms of mind-expansion.

  • @TheAdamewing It's true that he failed to achieve what he was looking for with drugs, but the way I see it that doesn't mean another person can't find their own ecstasy with these chemicals. And I also believe psychedelics help people like myself appreciate and understand this beautiful man even better. But that's just me. Everyone has to find their own way to enlightenment :)

  • This is the first ive heard of this guy (I was born in 69 and sheltered from life in general) I have to admit its got me interested but i doubt i would actually take LSD. Its all very facinating though...

  • I was listening to this at work once, and three people who work around me peeked in to see what I was watching because they could here it from their cubicles. The message is spreading.

  • Im i the only one high on lsd listening to this guy?

  • @FlightOverRio I like to smoke weed and listen to him.

  • Its all in the eyes.

  • Nice man :) Thank you for your inspiration....

  • i love how you can hear every time he smacks his lips or clears his throat

  • A servant of God fully. So beautiful. Right on!

*Mastery in Servitude* Meher Baba's motto.

  • we're all deceivers and truth tellers, just take what is true for you, leave the rest

  • Why do these seemingly intelligent people mislead "the herd" so blatantly? The pseudo-science these "professionals" pass off as fact is disgusting. Anyone who is convinced of these idiocies should do the world a favor and kill themselves. There is no redemption from ignorance and stupidity.

  • @kerryalanp Please explain how Ram Dass is "misleading the herd"

  • @kerryalanp Anyone who says something so "idiotic" as in "kill themselves" has no valid argument. Grow the fuck up, then come back.

  • too many mouth noises

  • Of course what the seeker wants to see and find is a higher consciousness, OUTSIDE himself, a consciousness that will transmit some of his "amazing knowledge."

Little does the seeker suspect that he is in reality admiring a disinformative narcissistic monster, feeding on his gullibilty and naievety...

  • @suddenlyitsobvious Slightly narcissistic, sure... "Ram Dass" is no different than the rest of us. But "deceiver"!? You wish.

  • @Cyanicybe

    'You wish'

No I don't. I find it's rather unfortunate for mankind that so many today confuse deceptive charlatans with spiritual guides...

  • Comment removed

  • Krishnamuri did that too, always punctuating his speech with long silences and the most suggestive, often quite hysterical facial expressions designed to generate a perfect receptacle for the seeker's projections...a seeker who sees what he wants to, uncritically.

  • Clearly a deceiver...

  • Hey! jkweddingtrancesuxblahblahblah!...whenever "jew" is used as part of insulting someone...it shows your true character...and arbusto...I think he says some interesting things...I'm not "worshiping" him...and what's my alternative?... Christianity?... heehhaaaHHHAAAAWWWEEEE....you gotta be kidding me...

you all need a little more psilocybin in your lives...just saying...

  • i'd love to have his charisma, that's sheer power. it never ceases to amaze me to observe the effect it has on other persons. so many desperate and gullible people in search of a wise man, people too lazy and coward to think for themselves. please don't be stupid. do not delegate thinking to white haired smiling gurus. hear what they have to say, but don't take it as absolute wisdom. use your brain, it's a gift of nature too precious not to make full use of it.

  • @arbusto

    right on.

these self appointed guru/teacher types are 180 opposite of the egoless and selflessness they talk about !

it is one big ego trip - listen to me, look at me, laugh at me, sit in awe at my feet as i speak on a stage w a microphone...and oh yeah...pay me !

  • This is how I remember him when I saw him at the California Theatre in San Diego around the mid-80's...he signed my copy of "Grist for the Mill"...I will treasure it forever!

  • @SolarTiger

    wow.

u "treasure" a dog eared shitty teenage philosphy book written by a drugged out jew ego maniac?

    get a life

  • @jkweddingentrancesux Oh my goodness!!!! It's true. You don't just stumble upon Ram Dass videos, you purposely search them out!

  • i love his laugh haha

  • Smiling : )

  • What a truly high being.

  • Is it me or does this dude look like John Cleese?

  • I love listening to this guy, but I don't like hippies. I hate that he was part of the whole hippie scene.

  • @frogmaster3950

    Whats wrong with Hippies?

  • @antoconno

Well i guess it depends on which hippies we are talking about. You how some hippies don't seem to shower for days on end and start to smell like homeless people? That I don't like. I also don't like the hippies that just get high all day and talk about things that they do not understand. But some hippies are alright.

  • @frogmaster3950

Each to their own I suppose but Id be along your lines of thinking also but I like to consider myself a hippie but I wear conventional clothes, wash and dont sit around smoking doobies all day :-)

    Peace

  • @frogmaster3950 its like the people that think "punk" is a hairstyle

really any sort of stylistic projection is obviously not sincere, no matter how you define yourself you are still a poser.. still a caricature

you havent seen it in yourself yet, otherwise you would have understanding - not hate

  • @docwhammo A lot of people hate a thing because they do infact see that thing in their self.

  • @frogmaster3950 its a question of consciousness - if you hate yourself, but project your hatred of yourself on someone else, then you arent seeing the whole picture - thats where understanding comes in

its not theoretical, its emotional - describing something isnt the same as feeling it

  • @frogmaster3950 Your hatred is your choice. I personally choose not to harbor hatred in my being.

  • So real but so cool.

Not at all like these fluffy, smug, super righteous ones with their soft, hushed toned "spiritual" voices these days who are all "enlightened" (enlightened egos perhaps)

This is a man who has seriously and genuinely experienced life.

  • I was on a quest to find the meaning of life and I found the Journey of Awakening book and a meditation tape by Ram Dass and I have to say it's amazing. He has spent to long trying to find the alternative to science at finding out our reality and he used so many sources for quotes that he's very interesting. Even though I believe in science, Ram Dass gives me another view to the meaning of life that I believe.

  • reality is one big crochet ;) made of little spirals turning in 3D "through" time ;)

  • What an amazing person :)

  • he is great.

  • Where is Part 4?? Please upload it!

  • He truly is a servant of god, God, or gods.

Thank you Ram Dass. For better, but without forgetting the worse.

  • Very nice. The most important thing we can do is stay in this "I am"'ness. It's not a feeling or state of mind. Rather It is being the observer itself. Being your true self, and not getting caught in the sneaky ego. All religions are based on this, though through different methods. Take the name of God in the bible for example. YHWH. This means "I am that I am", or shortened, "I am".

Buddha nature, Christ and Krsna conscienceness, Jah, Allah.. What ever you might call god. Be there. NOW!

  • hehe he looks funny back then

  • Oh Ram Dass :) I learn from you - or better said I realize through your words, thoughts, energy :) That story about the lady is soo funny yet very insightful :) Every path leads to the same place:)

    "Its all the same trip"

"Its all the same trip" hahaha ' I crochet!' hahaha :) Love Light and Peace to all :)

  • are you on LSD right now? lol

  • haha nah man, that's not the path I am on :) haha

I am in meditation/ sadhana :) Love Light and Peace :)

  • What did the old woman say in the story? I dont know the word.

  • ..hi, what the lady said was '' i crochet'' . .which is similar to knitting..

  • wow, i consider myself as very skilled in the english langage, as a german speaking guy, but this word wasn``t familiar to me. Well, now i understand the whole story even less. I mean, what has the LSD experience Ram Dass had to do with knitting?

  • ..well, he is talking about how different people get their understanding in different ways.. he used a LOT of lsd and all other psychedelics he could try, others use meditation or had spontaneous revelations, ..this lady, she crochets.. . .she does her contemplation and meditation with her hook and yarn, ..she knew all this stuff from sitting in deep crochet meditation, ..thats how i see it.. and it made me laugh too.. feel free to message me on any of this ..

  • Thank you alot. Finally this story makes sense to me.

  • .. you're welcome.. . .

  • Crochet

  • he's like a laid back version of the joker... haha =)

  • Hahaha, what? Ram Dass reminds you of the Joker? I say word to that.

  • haha yeh, his mouth (licks his lips a lot). ITS JUST HIM REALLY! Spittin image! haha what a guy though! Both Dass and the Joker are legends!

  • I was thinking of taking up crocheting...

  • Everyone loves this guy. Everyone.

  • @Monolith1618

  • @Monolith1618 I know I do. I only wish I could meet him.

  • he looks so happy

  • God Bless Ram Dass

  • @MarijuanaSamadhi, I agree, I go to sleep EVERY night with one of his tapes. His love he exudes is just overwhelming.

  • Psilocybin.

    Psychedelic mushrooms.

  • that will "sqeedgie your third eye", as Bill Hicks put it...

  • Timothy Leary gave him what ??? Silisybem ? English is not my mother language, could someone write up this word correctly ? Ram Dass says something I can't understand at 7:20, siloseibam, silaysibem, sliosibem, I don't know.

  • Psilocybin mushrooms

  • God Bless Ram Dass

  • God Bless Ram Dass

  • God Bless Ram Dass

  • a great man indeed

  • What does crousche mean?? he says it at around 5:49

  • Goggle "crochet", it'll answer your question :)

  • Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn or thread

  • Thanks for posting. Ram Dass is a wise intellect and great speaker.

  • Awesome to finally have some follow ups on this great Mind

    BadHero
