@honestbutugly Well yeah there was a Porter before him but I know what you mean , Porters Music wouldn`t have had the popularity with out Buck , Buck is a fantastic picker on several instruments, He`s been a good friend & my picking hero for many years, He gave me The Buck & the Five album years ago I thought I would learn all the songs & make a medly out of them as a salute to his talent & friendship. Shot Jackson built me an electric Baldwin banjo in about 1971and I played it for several years with the Jones Hat Band in El Paso. I still have the banjo but haven't played it for a good while. It was a total blast to play on stage & at dances with the tuners and palm pedals! I bought a Sho-Bud amp from Shot at 416 Broadway in 1973 to go with it and still have it.......
@philharveyjr They are a great banjo I have a Shot Jackson Electric , with Bucks old Baldwin neck on it, I tend to like the ones I`ve built better because the changers are faster & lest travel on the palm buttons , One of my peddles is a lever It`s easier for me to use. That Show Bud amp is a good one. But these days I travel with a small Peavey. I also use a small Samick, They have the exact perfect sound I`m looking for & they won`t break your bad LOL God bless
Hey banjo man you are as good as Buck I think I play a five string and pedal steel and I love country Im really not much on bluegrass but when I was a kid I loved to hear Buck play country with Porter and always wanted an electric banjo but for some reason I thought Buck was the only one who had one and probably made it himself is that true I the way your sounds I'm 57 years old but i would like to have one where can i find one or did you make that one yourself
@shobudldg Thank you so very much, I`m flattered, Buck is a friend of mine, I`ve made him a guitar an electric banjo & many parts over the years, Buck invented that set up & picikng the Electric banjo, I`ve been making & playing electric since 1964, I made my own, Shot Jackson made Bucks first few banjos, I have the neck & bridge on the Baldwin I`m picking, before Shot died died he gave me the rights to the Electric banjo However They are Buck`s invention And he`s still Picking in MO
@shobudldg I made my own & an electric head & a complete electric banjo for Buck, One electric guitar many sets of tuners & bridges for him. I get requests to build them But I have to hand make the parts & it`s a lot of work. I stopped making them a while back.

Wow that`s a compliment ; Porter`s daughter called me an Honorary Wagonmaster a couple years ago , The Wagonmasters were the best band I ever heard, & I`ve met most of them Don Warden & Buck Trent are both friends of mine I`ve also met Mack, I`m playing all the instruments on the Video, as I do on all my Video`s so having someone say that is very flattering Thanks & God bless Dan
