  • I watched the video for "Monologue" then found this linked video.

As a lover of bass, I absolutely admire your playing, sound, and bass.

I also like the idea that you consider yourself to not be good because it allows you to continue to grow as a musician. Excellent work on the song, hope to see more. :]

  • Really like your playing, and really like your comment "Playing 7 years and havent been good yet, so still working on that"

What amp do you use for this recording, live, and vids? or anything that makes your tone that good, cause mine could use some improvement in all catagories

  • @drkmonkey7 Thanks a lot for that man! I record directly from my Gallien-Krueger head into the audio interface (GK RB1001-II head), and I use this live paired with a GK 4x10 NEO cab. This video was recorded before I had the home-studio thing setup, so I just put an SM-57 to my cab for this video and the tone was still great, but future videos will be even better. If you check out the other play-along video on our channel to "Shadows", I recorded DI-out from my GK head.

  • mark, how long did it take you to get this good and play a 7 string. like i been playin for 2 years and only up to a 5 string

  • @comeherelilboi I've been playing 7 years and haven't been good yet, so still working on that! Thanks though! Don't equate more strings with being better, a bass is a bass. The 7-string didn't make me improve or anything, it's simply a bass with more range to suit the style of music I'm playing, that's it!

  • Nice playing dude, sick bass!

  • @CherubicGuardian Thanks a ton man!

  • nice to see this. you make it look easy to play, but sounds very complex! The official video to this song is awesome!!

  • @mahsbl Sweet, thanks for checking it out.

  • Awesome! (-:

  • Great song and video! Cool how we both use Conklin 7-strings and Gallien-Kruegers!

But, how come you tuned your E string down when you have the low B?

  • Comment removed

  • @P13666 He probably tuned the E string down because the guitarist plays in Drop D.
