the only other thing is that the trend spikes in 06 onward. Tiger is great, but OS share does not equal Hardware.

it is hard to statically show that as the trend went up then down on the release of tiger but when intel hit it shot up.

but, again i say that tiger was the major factor. do you think the majority of mac users get macs just to run windows on them?

no, no. you misunderstand.
I am saying that there is a OS X market share and there is an Apple hardware market share. The problem is that the hardware has a larger market share than OS X, thus the difference means OS X is not being used in the % difference but another OS, take your pick as to which one.

yep, that does not mean it is used. I have switched many friends to Apple but they only use Windows :(. These stats are gathered similar as ratings are for television shows and has been tracked for years. My vids have the links in description.

uh, why would a person, purchase a mac, with its comparative limited hardware choice when there are pc manufacturers with windows preinstalled on the pc?

no, that was a comment directed at gareth who tried to use browser stats to prove that significant numbers of mac users are using windows as their main os. i lumped response to his video in with yours
