Yes yes the whole thing seems similar to Celine in '88 especially the whole Quebecois thing. But lay off the girl - she's bloody amazing. This song should have won for sure.
there is an english version of this and it is rubbish,,,mr showman what do you want hiding behind your magic wand,,,title is called I will be myself not Quite simply me, though it is a great song in french
Szerintem, nem akarta utánnozni Celine Dion-t.A hangja tökéletes volt ehhez a dalhoz. I think he did not want to be Celine Dion imitation. His voice was perfect for this song.
The song does sound like a winning song but for me it was not the best in the competition. Coming from Quebec, the swiss television really were trying to hard to repeat the "Céline Dion" magic moment from 1988 but Cotton is nothing like Céline. First the song and the singer don't seem to match together. I don't see she was the right performer for it and this genre of ballads doesnt seem to represent her musicality at all. Howver she really did her thing on stage as if no reason to be nervous.
she did have at least one album, as I have it - the record company sent it to me shortly after Eurovision. The copyright is owned by Silver Street Productions & Editions, Geneva, Switzerland (address was; 2, chemin Rouelbeau, CH-1252 Geneve) Hope this helps. Pabs

The true winner is the one with the most points. The Orchestra ruined songs more often than not, the contest is richer without it!

Such a great entry from Switzerland - fully deserved top 3 place (and would have made a nice winner too!).

Without any doubt, this song is much superior to Irish winning entry.

She was like 17 or something at the time, wasn't she? Her appearance and looks are at least ten years older.

Moi aussi, je la trouve ben belle, mais dans Watatatow, elle était tout simplement magnifique...mais au Camp de Petite-Vallée, alors là...
