For Gyro Ball to do that much on Vensaur its either a lack of defense, or more porbalby it is holding an Iron Ball, plsu the STAB. I woud have kept Mainetric in to do the Thunderbolt whne he switched after Psychic.
I completly agree with your statment on NU Pokémon. I always tell our subscribers on my "Underdogbros" channel that's one advantage NUs have. People will be so focused on OUs they will forget about NUs.
It's a shame you lost but I wouldn't have expected Pursuit from Spiritomb either.
@quzofrommycoke I checked the Battle Pass and I can confirm that Wormadam did indeed have an Iron Ball. Nice call on that one.
I do think that NU Pokémon (and for that matter, nonstandard movesets on any Pokémon) can give you the advantage of surprise, but if the opponent is using higher tier Pokémon and is also experienced, knowledgeable, or adaptive enough, that advantage is nullified. A battler who's more skilled than I am would have won that match; for example, Antar won twice.
