  • So long and thanks for all the fish

  • dogs also playing in their adulthood ...

  • YO

If you like dolphins watch 'THE COVE'. Its a movie made in '09 that deals with the BRUTAL GENOCIDE in japan of these beautiful and intelligent beings. The people of japan are vastly unaware of this tragedy that unfolds every year because of media censorship and propaganda distributed by the japanese gov. we need to spread the msg! You can sign the petition by texting DOLPHIN to 44144 or visit takepart. com/thecove.

If you are a standup person, give thumbs up, spread this...dont spam it! plz

  • Save the dolphins! Watch the cove or Google Taiji Japan dolphin slaughter. Don't look to the stars to find other intelligent life, look to the oceans and save them.

  • Where do they get the idea so few species play for fun? ....other examples: apes, monkeys, dogs, horses, cats ...must be far more than the ones I can only think of right now..

  • My grandparents lived and died in Jeffreysbay, was a wonderful place but unfortunately it has become modern and huge.Of course the dolphins are still there, one of the most wonderful creations.

  • is creysi beatifull congratulecion very very good your fien BOB

  • it's probably because when a wave breaks it sucks up what life is on the sea floor handy snack u think now.

  • We ride in a boat on the ocean surface, thinking we understand the depths.

Dare not go to the ocean deep unless you're a good swimmer.

Reality is a lot bigger than we realize.

  • sudden urge to say.... so long , and thanks for all the fish lol :))

  • absolutely love these docus! well done and thank you to the BBC! if you want to see and experience dolphins yourself in the wild check out my channel for the Bunbury Dolphins in Western Australia

  • I saw movie the cove, and after that i pray god that please kill all these japanese bastards same way, please do it for humanity, japanese mother fucker r not meant to be live in this world, they need few more nuclear attacks, god is showing them his power with tsunami, foods, earth quake, natural disaster r part of their life, whatever amount of disaster managment they do, nature has big disaster or them, fuck all japanese......... please make this comment topper if u love dolphin

  • They're just able to figure out how to invent fun. Like surfing, making bubble rings, etc. Thats engineering in a dolphins world. XD

  • I think dolphins probably live the ultimate life..

  • @kenora619 no man , your mindset is that of a controlling society and you and "your" family (in your mind) is what you will believe no matter what the size of your brain compared to the dolphins that cannot speak

i'm sure there is a more intelligent human , but i cannot prove that grasshopper , can you ???

  • dolphins are all about the hangtime.... humans r there 4 the smooth cruisin

  • that dolphin keeps snaking me!

  • This is awesome! I love to surf and my school mascot actually is a dolphin :) we are the dy dolphins!

  • The water, for us, is a mildly risky place to be, so our play there is a fun type of risk taking. But as it's their natural environment, for dolphins, this stuff is all play. All intelligent animals need to play.

  • I wonder ( if ) they saw humans at some time surfing and copied it because they saw it was fun. although... they may have been doing it WAY longer than humans have.

  • GOOD DOLPHINS !! :D

  • Also, dolphins are also the only other species who hunt and kill for fun. Everyone always seems to forget that.

  • Death to humanity, life to dolphins.

  • It's so ridiculous how scientists think they have to come up with some utilitarian reason why dolphins play, as if it isn't acceptable that they probably do it for the same reason we do: cause it's fun.

  • @ericjungleboy

if we would accept them as equal creatures we would have to change EVERYTHING.

But to feed all the people ... and to earn a lot of dollars ... killing animals is still called "sports".

We are the only animal on this globe which kills for fun.

  • @ ... and systematically.

  • @ericjungleboy ........ lol apparently you missed the lecture on evolution. Theoretically, there are evolutionary reasons why we even find things "fun" to begin with. A lot of which are hypothesized to be for social strengthening.

  • @ericjungleboy

It's ridiculous to assert yourself as if your ideals should be accepted. People can and will do what they want, that includes scientists. So if you don't like it, ignore it instead of being a whiny bitch. Don't go all fascist on someone's ass because they "think" something.

  • @ericjungleboy ok off course dolphins do it for fun; don't think most scientist would deny that. But why dolphins that get fun out of it didn't get extinct while the non-playing ones did; well that's because the social advantage you get from playing. The mistake Attenborough makes is that this 'crucial role in strengthening social bonds' has to be actually known by the dolphins when there. Dolphins don't know about evolution, they don't care, but it does explain why they are the way they are.

  • @number890315435100 lucid Youtube reply of the week goes to YOU SIR.

  • @ericjungleboy He DID said they do it because its fun! I think what he was getting at is that when dolphins play together they bond. just like humans. ask anyone who's ever been on a team.

  • @wannabethug. Are you kidding me?? The film WAS made in Japan, and every household in Taiji received a free copy just recently and were able to get some theatres to show the documentary. There are a lot if animal welfare issues going on. Unfortunately you can't be that effective if you try to fix all the issues at the same time. Find which one You have the most passion for and do what you can.

  • So long and thanks for all the fish!

  • @TreyColwell R.I.P. Douglas Adams!

  • I wonder if Miki Dora ever pushed a dolphin out of his way.

  • wow !

  • If dolphins are so smart why do they live in igloos!?

  • @foxyfaefife wtf?

  • @Trund27 (Cartman quote)

  • @foxyfaefife LOL!!!!! I haven't watch that in while...my bad!

  • lØl_àÑYÔñe_wåÑNÄ_chät_wîth_me_I_fËèl_sÔ_lÓÑelý_tödaý┘

  • im trippin. and i love mushroom...i mean dolphins

  • I'm expecting to see winnie the poo surf in this vid.

  • Seriously people educated yourselves before actually considering the The Cove, it a film just to make money for the westerners. If they really wanted to change the Japanese people ways of killing Dolphins they would had made the film in Japan. The fact is though their are many animals in the world far closer to extinction than dolphins. Don't just stupidly choose them over others because they are cute and playful. What about the humpback whales only 10,000 left? Jaguars only 12,000.

  • Comment removed

  • @wannabethug7 I appreciate your intelligence in realizing that it was a money making film.. However, humpback and jaguars are not as intelligent as dolphins. Only 4 animals in the world are self aware. Dolphins, some type of monkeys, elephants, and of course humans. Because of this self awareness, I place them in a higher priority than Whales or big cats.. Primacy of the intellect is what I believe in. However, slaughtering other innocent animals is fucked up also.

  • they just wanna have fun :)

  • pls japan dont kill them all!

  • gnarly airs

  • there are gud dive stories on the myscubastory site too - some are a bit sad thou :( type myscubastory into google and its the first one

  • dolphins + japanese = dolphin DEATH

  • Show offs...

  • 1:25.... PARTY WAVVVEEEEEEE!!!!

  • so many frigging things to eat WTF do the Japs have to treat the dolphins that way. I dun think the Japanese population is fully aware of this and they deserve to know and then it will stop.

  • Hang fin:D!!

  • "we may not be able to ask dolphines why they play", but someday lol

  • It's almost as if they're competing. like "yeah, that's pretty good, but we're better!"

  • サメじゃなくてヨカッタねw

  • ...the only difference is that dolphins have larger brains :))

  • a pity that we can't surf by ourselves, and without a board, just using our body to follow the movment of the waves...i guess that if we even try, we turn to be ridiculous, and yet :)

  • ...there is body surfing , but it is no where near as graceful or as beautiful as that of the dolphins or sea turtles as you say :)

  • @astralhed Ours are more folded though, so ours actually have greater storage space.

  • WHO are the first to surf waves in the world, dolphins or surfers ??

  • I love surfing with dolphins =]], they're alot of fun to be with out in the waves

  • Actually, I can think of a few animals that continue to play into adulthood; elephants, apes, cats, dogs. Why do people try to make dolphins out like they are some how 'exclusive' and far more superior to any other animal? Their intelligence is certainly no greater than that of apes or elephants, yet, people try to make dolphins out as if they are gods.

  • i wish i was a dolphin...

  • Go Dolphins! South Africa, Billabong!

  • awesome

  • They are so gorgeous!

  • And they don't need surf trunks , boards , decks and all that

  • The Gulf of Mexico was food producing waters, now just wetlands along the coast.

The seafood industry both recreational, & commercial has been destroyed for decades to come.

  • surfing with dolphins how cool is that?

  • watch the cove and stop the killing of over 23,000 dolphins a year

  • awwww (:

  • Watch THE COVE and please spread the word.

  • Dolphins and Dogs are the best creatures on planet earth!

  • Once when I was swimming, I found myself caught in a rip and was carried far out to sea. After several weeks of treading water, I became too weak and gave up hope. As I slipped from the surface and slowly sank like that guy in the movie Titanic, I was rescued by a friendly dolphin who carried me back to his family and fed and nursed me back to health before constructing a small raft out of kelp for me on which I sailed back to shore.

  • @MrHelpmehelpyou. Thnx man, making someone laugh is a good thing!

  • Everything about this video is AWESOME! After you watch The Cove, be sure to check out Sharkwater as well. Possibly the two best documentaries ever made.

  • Wolves also play well into adulthood. After wolves, dolphins are my favorite animal. I guess they qualify as my fav water animal.

  • Somebody knows where i can find the original video?

  • nice

  • if you go on face book theres a petition against it i love dolphins and i think its cruel..x

  • Que lindo este vídeo!

  • If the fish swam out of the ocean

and grew legs and they started walking

and the apes climbed down from the trees

and grew tall and they started talking

  • Dolphins lovers have aDOLPH INSide... they are nazis.

  • this is a cool video about dolphins are swiming with a surfur oh and p.s. dolphins are my favorite animal

  • Dolphines are awesome, they not only play with humans they also protect them from sharks and surfers have even been rescued, miracle in nature.

  • great god of the seas. the hidden intelligence of nature. and the only other being that understands us as being different from mere animals. dolphin is the only kindred soul that we can find in this lonely universe. and what do we do with it? we slaughter it for no real reason then it eats too much fish (thanks to japanese scum)

  • Comment removed

  • @cryostation Animals die. If you take another specie's life over your own, there is something wrong with you. Without hunting, the food chain will be non-existent. That's like calling lions murderers. How are the Japanese "scum" because you are ignorant to culture?

  • @DBerlinT because this is not natural. killing dolphins for capital gain is NOT the food chain. Natural meat eaters require wide open hunting space and are in far fewer in number than herbivores. The Japanese are industrial in their slaughter, it is hardly making a single kill for a single meal in order to survive the next day.

  • @DBerlinT i beleieve that beatsinblack answered your comment correctly but let me say this, i love japan before the 90s but after watching the cove i just disgust myself with how low have they sunk as a culture adn from their glory days. also MAN IS NO LONGER PART OF THE NATURAL CHAIN. he has removed himself from it by virtue of his intelligence, that means now we are in a position to PROTECT and GUARD the biosphere, otheriwse nature will show us how LITLE we really count

  • @cryostation the legend of the animal with a kindred soul is not about a dolphin, but about the elephant. If you do some digging into the intelligence of elephants, you may be surprised. I believe they surpass the more intelligent of the dolphin species anyday, particularly based on their brain size at certain ages, size of particular parts of the brain etc.

As for the "lonely universe", I think that is a mere projection of humans trying to find similarity and projecting that onto dolphins.

  • @theyellowchameleon i like elephants but there simply is no comparison. recent studies have shown that dolphin intelligence is greater than first imagined. but my comment had nothing to do with comparing intelligence, i feel that this being the dolphin, even though in a wild state, has saved human lives countles times. he feels a kinship to us which he does not afford to otehr species. elephants dont do that. wild elephants destroy human villages in masse

  • @cryostation Actually, elephants are the only species apart frolm humans with a death ritual. There are also documented records of elephants taking in baby rhinos and aiding other species in trouble (dogs, for example). Look at the number of neurons in the elephant brain, the structure of certain parts of their brain, the size of the brain at certain ages (elephants have the slowest brain growth after humans, meaning they have the most complex learning to undergo). PTSD explains why elephants..

  • @cryostation...sometimes attack villages. I love dolphins, but their intelligence is incredibly overrated and much of it is based on speculation and projection. They are treated as if they are gods that can do no wrong. Anyway, as for the dolphin rescue, a lot of this is mythic, and can also be explained as 'right place, right time', and dolphins practicing their defensive techniques against predators.

  • @theyellowchameleon you know im not a scientist, and i will not aruge which one is smarter, like i said earlier. to me personally dolphin is a mythic being, the cases of their resuces are WELL DOCUMENTED AND NOT SPECULATION there is simply no debate on that pal. the ancient greeks held the dolphin sacred animal for this purpouse and anyone who killed a dolphin recieved the DEATH PENALTY. i see no wild elephants forming bonds with humans, wild elephants crush anyone in thier way. btw docgs suck

  • @cryostation There is also an interesting case of a man swimming with dusky dolphins when he was attacked by a shark and the dolphins simply swam off. You clearly have no understanding of elephants or the natural world, as you demonstrated by your comment of "no wild elephants form...bonds with humans...[and] crush anyone in their way", so this conversation is best to be over.

  • @theyellowchameleon actually he's right... wild elephants do not bond with civilized people and it is VERY dangerous for people to go near them. Anyhow, his point is that dolphins do have an increased sense of consciousness and emotions, clearly or they wouldn't be used at Sea World. Open your mind a bit and don't be so literal.

btw your anecdote is not the end all to any argument, you didn't cite it or anything. What are you Jane Goodall of dolphins? No one should take your argument over his.

  • Dolphins need to be stopped. The steal our thoughts in our sleep and bite our children in the rivers.

  • Fucking Japaness

God is full of beauty and his creations are beautiful.

  • Dolphins follow boats for the same reason they follow some sharks and whales... to escort them out of the area where females and their offspring are. And they do it in groups of many dozens.

I saw this more than once in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. It's really amazing to see it..

  • Dolphins are being slaughtered and inhumanely tortured by the japanese! Their meat is being sold to the japanese people without them even knowing it! Studies have shown that there are dangerously high levels of mercury in dolphin meat and it is a health hazard. If you love dolphins as much as I do, please watch this documentary called THE COVE. . . you will be surprised with what is really going on in the dolphin industry :-(

  • Fucking japanese.

  • Comment removed

  • @peace4raissa shut up dolphin meat tastes really good and it makes your bones grow strong

  • @peace4raissa Ewww. Eating dolphin is about as bad as eating people. That is just horrific.

  • @peace4raissa : This is shocking to say the least. In the US Atlantic Bottle Nose are protected. They have capabilities well beyond us--as well as a bonding power with humans that's beneficial. I do hope an International recognition will put them on protected status. In my opinion, they've got the bigger brain and should be making our decisions for us.

    --Robert

  • @peace4raissa ITS fucked up y would ppl sloughter these animals they are peacefull fun loving animals im from port elizabeth which is not far from jefreys bay and me and my dad surf alot and have the pleasure of seen and surfing with these beutifull animals its so cool surfing wit them u go left they left u go right they go right and wen u fall they swim around u like ur one of them and to me thats amazing y would those japs do that to them

  • @peace4raissa Well said! If you have any other comments, then please notice me! I am running a school project about this :D

  • @peace4raissa i saw it its pretty good theres a p[art where they surf with dolphins

  • @peace4raissa HIGH levels of mercury? understatement of the century there.

  • @peace4raissa SHARINGGGGGGGG !!!

  • @peace4raissa its a total disgrace that this practice still goes on, Its barbaric

  • @peace4raissa fuck Japan ! i would be lying if i said that i wasnt happy about the earthquake :))))

  • @wass777 not every body in japan was/is responsible for the slaughter of dolphins.

  • @wass777 You ignorant piece of shit. I love family members in that quake.. It was not all of Japanese that slaughtered dolphins you ignorant ignoramus.. It was a couple dozen fishermen. That does not make all fishermen or Japaense in the world ass holes so STOP segregating a race of people because of stupid illegitimate actions of a small minority. And btw, Americans participated in far worse travesties than the slaughter of a few dolphins..We slaughter thousands of people a month. THINK dumbass

  • @BomaBoi fuck youre family members if they`re japanese ... I`m not even American you stupid fuck !

  • @wass777 Your a bitch

  • @peace4raissa

I agree, and these are the only animals on earth that have compassion for us as well as nearly matching our intelligence. Why would we try and compromise such an amazing thing by killing them? The japs got what was coming for them..lol sorry if that offended anyone.

  • @HammerOfTheGods4 It offended me!!! Its not the fucking japanese! Its a handfull of fishermen who happen to be japanese and under 5'5".. But you dont see me saying that ALL 5'5" PEOPLE SLAUGHTER DOLPHINS.. Its super ignorant.. ANd besides, the slaughter at Taiji stopped like a year ago.. For fuck sakes hold back the antisemitism against the Japanese.

  • @BomaBoi You're spending way too much time arguing this, and you're obviously not winning if the odds are against you. C'mon get off of youtube, and get a life. Nobody gives a shit. and the stats show most dolphin murders are from Japan, soooo...you're argument really has no base. one last thing...antisemitism? im pretty sure that can only be applied to hating jews. Now you're offending me.

  • @peace4raissa hungry hungry asians! (8)

  • @peace4raissa

Dolphins are my favorite animal and i love them your comment is so true and it made me cry ='( poor dolphines there just like humans there animals like us

  • @salmonthesalmon DOLPHINS ARE NO LONGER BEING SLAUGHTERED =D!!

  • @peace4raissa Its fine and dandy that you watched the cove and now feel a sense of urgency in saving them. I dont really care that you jumped on the band wagon even though the dolphin slaughter at Taiji Japan no longer happens.. However, for you to blasphemy a whole race of people because of what a couple dozen fishermen do in a cove is beyond ignorant, it is border line racist. They are not being tortured by "The Japanese" but rather by a small group of fishermen... Please dont be such a parrot

  • @BomaBoi Where did you hear that this slaughter in Taiji has stopped? It hasn't....

  • If you love Dolphins watch 'The Cove' it's an awesome movie everyone needs to see.... We all need to help the dolphins survive, see the movie and you'll know what to do to help them.

  • Wow praise God! This is just awesome! It's cool looking at God's creation!

  • Very Cool !

  • I have seen this in Florida, it think it is called stump pass state park, there is a river coming up to the gulf which creates a permanant break, the dolphins ride it from end to end, I have spend many an afternnon watching them, and my buddy paddled out and played with them and said it was awesome

  • I love having dolphins around when surfing. No sharks.

  • @vandalaylatex6969 but sharks want to surf with you 2?? r u prejudice lol

  • GREAT, thanks

  • Great

  • dolphins + david attenborough = PWNAGE

  • One good point about having dolphins around - sharks won't even dare coming in. Dolphins will attack and kill a shark in nothing flat - and the sharks know it.

  • Its a myth mate the white pointers feed on dolphins

  • I saw dolphins surfing at the Jersey shore last summer. They would ride the wave in, flip out and do it again. They kept it going for about 30 minutes. Fortunately for them it was a designated "surfing beach" or they would have had a major violation thrown on them.

  • Yo surfer dude, what you gonna do when the dolphins drop in on you? Kick their ass? I don't think so. You just kick out. (1:37)

  • What an experiance to surf with the children of the deep..<3<3

  • Watch the movie called: The cove (2009)!!! Help to save the dolphins and whales from Japan!!!!They are eating all those beaultiful animals!

  • Love it! play for pleasure. Have seen it before on our coastline, awesome sight

huge fan of David Attenborough too

  • Beautiful.

Just as likely to be Great Whites in SA instead of dolphins.

  • hahahaha que lindos... pegando altas ondas... eu amo golfinhos!! :)

  • thats badass. that surfer was lucky to surf next to them didn't even know they dolphins did that.

  • god it would be fun to be a dolphin lol

  • Amazing

  • Wow, what a beautiful video!

That surfer is blessed to surf along with those friendly and playful dolphins.

  • "Whoooooaaa! Like, 'sup, dolphin dudes?"

    "Clickclick click clickwheeeee"

    "Awesome!"

  • I love Dolphins

  • Wow.This is amazing.Lucky guy who gets to be so close to the dolphins like that. This would be like a dream come true for me.Hope none off the dolphins got hurt being so close to that boat :( .5*.

  • and then the shark shows up!

  • hahaha YEAH

  • Hello guys. Amazing animals and if anyone would like to learn more about people doing real work saving Dolphin lives in our oceans then please visit the Sea Sheperd website and find out about their amazing work.

If you can - consider donating a small amount to support their heroic and brave actions.

    Thank you and God Bless.

  • dolphins rule.

  • great footage

  • Dolphins are cool.

  • Really cool!

  • nice!

  • shit how cool is this

  • What do the dolphins think of the surfer?

  • LOCALS ONLY.

  • Thanks for posting this. It is really cool.
