  • This WILL be mine!

  • Try also VST converting Voice or guitar to MIDI in realtime "Pitch a Bitch" from bitscrew.com

I compared directly with G2M - Sonuus has a biger delay

  • Can I use this with a guitar tuned in Drop D or C ? I have a Korg X50 and I would like to connect my guitar to it and record my guitar.

  • can you use this device and play through Roland GR-55 synthesizer with it????

  • did i just hear you say you can omly do one note at a time if so this stupid this mean you can play full chords

  • will this also work like a midi control like for fl studio and lmms

  • even though it's great. Anybody could do better than this guy. Whats he using a 1980's sampler?

  • thats an awesome modern day achievement! Even though it's just monophonic, it's still awesome.

  • Looks like Sweetwater is selling the latest Version 2 which features chromatic mode switch. Wallimann (Sonuus G2M version 2) does a great demo of the differences in tracking from V1 to V2. He also shows V2 with chromatic off you can here the bend pitch errors. Just a head's up in case you try and buy one of some Ebayer. Chromatic mode on V2 is a must have.

  • please test new sonuus i2m also with vocal>

  • Cool!

  • I want to see Theremin Hero

  • that guitar needs to lay off the chili

  • Shit starts to get real weird.

  • @ShawnyMartin

    Shit gets so weird.

  • good demo.. nice to see someone clearly having fun doing it !!

    Good on yer mate

This is definately on the shopping list, has been for a while.

When I'm no longer Mr Skinty Skint the skint person, I'll get one of these babies.

  • this is awesome!! can this be used with an acoustic guitar as well?

  • At 4:12 this is called as creating magic in Music!! hahaha :) Very creative though! :)

  • Good job, however.. Arpegiator for a monophonic instrument sounds like a wasteful fantasy. MIDI theremin for 4,900 dollars sounds like steam powered computer for 30,000 dollars or another wasteful fantasy. The funny sounds sound like circuit bending.

  • Is this thing able to capture slide notes and muted notes or would you just get uncontrolled noise?

  • How are you getting the sound out..through an amp or pc speakers?

  • Hi there! It seemed so simple on your video but, I just got one and I can't get any sound out!?!??!!?!

Can you tell me what could it be? Many thanks in advance!

  • You have Big Ass Hands

  • do i need a midi converter if i just want to record tracks on to my PC???

  • @deathguitrst

Not if you are recording the guitar part. What I do is just run my 1/4 guitar cord through a pedal, and then into a 1/8 cord with an adapter in the pedal to the input of my computer. However, I am told that you will need a preamp, but guitars with active pickups have those already inside.

  • I could watch this dude get all Harry Potter with that theremin all day...

  • what is the possibility that product being manufactured also hexafonico?

  • Anyone know of a useful converter which is less expensive than 350.00?

  • 5.00 "what's that noise?!"

  • T.V...ha!

  • I have 1 small question :) since u can play only 1 note on the G2M, it is posible to use this with an electric violin as well to ?

  • i cant decide whether to get the g2m or b2m, how well can the g2m handle a bass?

  • @Harpo6 The g2m cannot handle the lower octaves well. Just like the b2m cannot handle the higher ones well.

  • wud this work with something like logic pro or cubase? and composing instead with a key board, a guitar.

  • @nathen92 Just plug a MIDI interface to your computer and it will send the MIDI notes...

  • Can you play acord with G2M...you used only solo -monophonic saund...

    Tx....

  • @qzmaq The G2m is a monophonic Guitar-to-MIDI converter.

  • @SweetwaterSound

    Tx ;)

  • @SweetwaterSound then i suggest you to check Celemony Melodyne DNA technology. there is a way to mix between those 2 products.

  • If I get one of these and a Teisco Del Rey I would be in love with myself :D

And SH-201, nice choice, I have one myself.

  • 4:30 i imagine some magic secret scroll to appear that will help you on your quest

  • Do sum Holdsworth. Pretty cool!

  • The force is strong with this one.

  • you can see how he loves the theremin so much

  • i thought we have effect padals for this type of shit1!

  • @My0wnMe no effect pedals will get you accurate synth sounds, except maybe the EHX microsynth but even then, nowhere near what you can do with this little thing.

  • On the other hand, controlling a midi device with your voice can be quite fun and usefull in live

  • arpeggiator with a "one note only" device.... what a joke....

  • @heisserschrei its delaying

  • I really have to buy that the most earlier possible.

Happy to have waited before buying GR20 at 800$

  • its cool and everything but one note at a time is really restricting. I prefer to save the money and invest to a decent guitar controller that would be a complete solution than spending money here and there on solutions that address only part of my needs.

  • @denisgiann

One could say polyphony is really restricting, too. It restricts the subject from coming up with great lines, to some extent, for example. I tend to switch of polyphony whenever i can on my synthesizers just to get the creative work going.

As for when it comes to studio work, i think it is blasphemy to record multiple voices in one go if it can be avoided, as far as synthesizers are concerned. Recording one note at a time gives you much more control over vibrato, gliss, pan, etc.

  • @Volkspolizist86 oh come on now dont beat around the bush. You cant even play chords with this thing and you dont find that restricting?Of course its still a very interesting tool but for me i prefer a complete solution like for example a decent midi guitar controller that lets you play everything.A little more expensive than this and much cheaper than axon and the likes.

  • @Dreamdancer11

In a live context, it IS restricting not being able to play chords though in a studio, it is more rewarding recording one synth line at a time (even for pads), as stated above.

MIDI guits are clearly the best option but are out of many people's range. If one's already paid for a guitar they don't want to separate from, then this is a pretty good solution.

Roland gr-20 works fine, but the synth part included is a toy compared to real stuff. g2m + mopho = cheap + good sound.

  • spelling correction: switch off

If you've ever experienced a synth pad feels flat, like a roadkill, just try to record it one voice and note at a time. m-hm! that's stuff.

  • 'You can never play more than one note on this device'. Its a fork with one tine, then, innit?

  • Lol hes a jedi using the force on that thing :p

  • meu colega; moro no brasil vitoria Es, e não tem nada aqui relacionado a captação midi, e quando acha é caro demais, como faço para comprar um e ser enviado para brasil sem maiores custos, porque os impostos aqui tambem ficam um absurto e este aparelho que é $99 no amozon; se chegar aqui sai por nada menos que $500 dolares, um absurdo; dificil.... is dream for mi... dream.. very good your product, a day dream, a day...

  • hi! can the synth be replaced by somekind of software?

  • Hi blackhun,

    MIDI is MIDI.

Whatever MIDI-driven sound source you connect to will be played by this.

  • @TheDanielFisher Thanks!

  • @SingHouse roland gr 20

  • @SingHouse you may be missing the point, firstly; a midi guitar is way more expensive then this, secondly; it doesnt just do guitar which a midi only does, as this video shows it can do many things, in that way it's far more versatile then a midi guitar, thirdly;just because it's monophonic it doesnt mean its shit, look at the minimoog thats not shit by any stretch, this is a quick, easy, relatively cheap way to convert almost any sound source into midi.

  • so you can just plug a guitar in and go to a keyboard and it doesnt need to be plugged into computer or anything, is it that simple?

  • That thing is off the wall. What an amazing piece of equipment. I'll be buying the bass version.

  • Is there any sort of delay from this unit? let's say if you do a fast riff or licks?

  • what kind of sound does it create if i plug it through only into an amp ? without any midi player or anything

  • Hi Jarrnou,

There's a 1/4" THRU jack (at 0:24) that is simply a straight pass-through of your original guitar signal. This THRU is always on.

If this isn't what you meant, please clarify.

  • That looks hilllarious seeing you use the mic and hearing those sounds! Move over Michael Winslow!

    Eric

    Rhythmicons

  • damned

i wonder if i can make my guitar sound like a violin now.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 Yes you can !!! I'm using my "violin/cello guitar" all the time now haha :P

  • I think I have been there!!

  • can this be used with multi stringed instruments? 7/8/10/12/16 stringed guitars? violins Lutes etc....or say! Tab/staff notation software?

  • My understanding is that you can play anything into it as long as you only play one note at a time (no chords - no legato).

  • What an awesome product!!!

  • not a guitar player my ass

  • OMG..... I LOVE IT !! A billion ideas are flying through my cerebrum right now.....
