"the benefit of easy origami is two fold"

  • I love the irony of watching alan say this is going to be straight on youtube, on youtube XD

  • @MissILoveBooks

Weird and funny yes, not ironic.

It would be ironic if he had said that it wouldn't be going on Youtube.

  • @MissILoveBooks watch the QI episode on irony, and you will realise that this is not irony. Glad to be of service.

    Signed "THE QI ELVES"

  • 1:40... very true :P

  • doesn't it depend on how big the piece of paper is??

  • @Ytubewanker Yes, hence the formula ¬.¬

  • They have some great ideas for TV. Paper folding, LIVE."

  • One person couldn't fold a piece of paper three times.

  • Yess Alan. It is on youtube. Much to our joy :)

  • Actually, if you search for "what you need is length and thickness" you get that very clip that Alan said would end up on YouTube. XP

  • So sexy.

  • Bad grammar Stephen.

It should be "number" of times you fold paper, not "amount".

  • @catcritchley1987 whatever he says is right.

  • @catcritchley1987 Personally i would tell you to fuck off.

as i am sure that nobody gives a shit if there grammar is not perfect all of the time

  • @Judgementtday It's "their grammar" not "there grammar". :)

  • @alanpgoodwin God dam it. I am dyslexic it all looks the same to me. haha:P

  • @catcritchley1987 Have a look at youtube.com/watch?v=J7E-aoXLZGY

  • I don't usually like Rob Brydon but the look he gives Stephen after that classic line is so funny.

  • so what is the maximum then ??

  • @TennisCoachno1 6 for standard A4, but technically the limit is entirely dependant on the length, width and thickness of the paper

  • Huh...I always thought it was 7.

  • Alan was right :P

  • You see I would have said that you can only ever fold a piece of paper in half once.

  • @Sidowse No, you can fold it in half numerous times, you could only cut a peice of paper in half once though ;-)

  • @Millnsy1994

No you can cut it in half numerous times, because each time you cut it, it become a new (whole) piece of paper.

  • @SiskinOnUTube meant to be @Sidowse

  • We did paperfolding in school today. I told my teacher there was an insanely complicated formula to work it out...gotta love QI for pointless facts that you think you may never need to use!

  • @TanyaRayne That Formula is pretty simple :) Try working out how fast a ball weighing 20kg will roll down a convex slope 10m long.

  • I have "what you need is length, and, thickness" as my ringtone :)

  • "straight on youtube" lol!

  • Paper folding, LIVE!

  • All you need, is length and thickness.

  • How many times can you fold a peice of paper in half?

ONCE, because after that you'll be folding it into 1/4, 1/8/ 1/16.

    ;)

  • @Clarestovold that is an interesting theory lol

    correct aswell :D

  • @Clarestovold well technically its a half every time lol so its just a half od the overal length and width of the paper so it would be a half everytime lol

  • @msterdaniels117

It was still a correct theory XD More of a witty joke, I guess. I bet if I'd been on the panel then Stephen would have had a little chuckle at that XD

  • @Clarestovold lol fair nough was quite funny lol

  • @msterdaniels117

    Lol, thanks XD

  • Did anyone else paperfold along with them or just me?

  • 1:22 to 1:27 made me cry :D. X

just for those of you who were asking.

  • hahahaha! hilarious! the moment i saw the rerun on tv i rushed onto youtube to find this one! love it!

  • lolololol ringtone

  • :) Stephen Fry rocks :)

But they have made a grammatical error in the description box.

  • tv license muney put to good use then

  • shame that you didn't pay attention to spelling either

  • i bet you paid so much attention to your spelling as you criticize my spelling. Little do you realise that youtube comments come with a built in spell checker for pricks like you who care.

  • Should've used it then.........

  • haha that was classic Mr Fry - every home should have his clone.x

And earlier on..dont look at me, dont look at me.

    love it

  • This is my ringtone now.

    Because I'm a QI sheep.

  • Made the ringtone too, and there's no shame in being a QI sheep

  • Lmao, put it on youtube. Shame they never did though.

  • Stephen Fry... how I wish he was my big, gay uncle :)

  • @elh666 OMG yeah.... i have loved him for years hahahha... i am female and i just think he is a big teddy bear lol...

Weird i know, but it would be cool to have him as an uncle.

Plus i hear he is a great shopaholic, so he would be great to go on a clothes spree with HAHAHAHAHA :P
