Ha, obviously. In fact, Brainiac fake some of their explosions. The one of ceasium in the bath is a good example. It is just a crowd pleasing program. I have blown up some crap in my time and can tell you, the caravan explosions often seem to be completely faked. (That is, not using the explosive they say they do).

One before the explosion; where the man is moving about in the van, the second when the explosion starts and the man has been replaced by a dummy (you can tell, at 0:33 as there is a sudden "jerk" in the position of the two people, as the dummy was say half an inch to the left.

its was actually quite real, they can't blow it up with people around for safety reasons, so they double edit it, one where people are around and then blowing it up and then layers it. if you look in the slow-mo replay, you see him out 1 frame before the explosion.
