I am really looking forward to yourr book coming out and will be my next buy, the last was "god is not GREAT" had it autographed by Seth TTA, AronRa, and Matt Dilahunty. I am in act and was wondering when in febuary your were gonna be here. I will only be in town for the first weekend.

Christians often say "there's much more proof of jebus than there is of X" where X is a historical character, like Napoleon, Shakespeare, or Socrates. Can you please give us your take on this question?

Julius Caesar and Alexander the great may as well be myths by your criteria. Napoleon may as well be a myth too.

In turn, general, orator, historian, statesman and lawgiver. We have words written by Caesar himself and words written by both his friends and his enemies. Artifacts confirm his life and death, as do his successors.

@Heteblixem Legion? Stop trying to use biblical terms to look smart. All the writings on Caesar come from 1000AD or later copies. In other words, we have older copies of books relating the details of Jesus' life. Caesar is no more reliable.

@pandirasbox, There are only 2 early historians, Josephus & Tacitus, that mention Jesus, & only as a historical person, not a divine being. 2 other historians, Pliny & Seutonius, only mention the religion, not Jesus himself. All these sources were all born after the supposed life of Jesus, hence are not direct witnesses. Al claims of Jesus derive from hearsay accounts Sorry that's not evidence of Jesus.

@pandirasbox , I can be ABSOLUTELY certain that his name was not Jesus. When the Roman Emperor Constantine decided to use your religion to control his people, he changed this "messiah's" name to "Jesus." He also heavily edited your bible.

Jesus is a Latin name, it isn’t Hebrew or Aramaic. There was no man named Jesus

@Heteblixem In Greek the name is Iesous. He wasn't named in Latin first. Greek was a commonly spoken and written language in all of Judea at the time of Jesus and had been for over 300 yrs. Constantine never editted the Bible. In fact, he was a semi-Arian, not a Roman Catholic. Theodosius was the first Catholic Emperor. The Bible was never editted by an Emperor. Nice try with the Semantics game. Jesus very well could have had a Greek name as about 50% or more of Galileans did at the time.

He is also known for convening a council, not giving a fuck about doctrines, and continuing to worship SOl Invictus until the day he died. Constantine can hardly even be considered a Christian.

You have a bias and that bias is to prove Jesus the man was a myth but you have to misuse Gnostic writings and Revelation and Paul to make that work. The fact of the matter is that Gnostics believed Jesus lived and saw Christ as a spirit and Jesus as a dead man. You have to ignore this. You also ignore the fact that huge chunks of Revelation were not written until 250 AD. There are even 2 whole chapters Irenaeus knew nothing about.

I watched a video last night from that ever conceited, condescending and patronising Catholic priest Fr. Barron. In it he was talking about what he called the YouTube heresies. And in his opinion the were mostly Marcionite. The notion that the OT god was capricious etc. And he used Irenaeus to show how wrong that was.
