  • I tried that, but i can't find a fan that runs on 5 Volts most of them are 12 V

  • plz help my fan has 3 wires blue, grey, and black so i cant splice it

  • i made one .. not very much air comin out haha

  • OKAY...

5V is the maximum output of USB port.

So is it still enough for this kind of vent??

I think that it will need a 12V output?

    Someone plz respond:D

  • @W1ld3g4m3r you can't use more than 5V from the usb. If you were to use a bigger fan, it could probably run but would be very very slow.

  • @Luda12Plyr

using 2 usb-s would workd imo.

    Thats 5v+5v.

Usually the normal pc vents use 12v voltage.

So 10v woild be nice too.

  • i have red, blue and light brown wire

  • can you make one out of an ethernet cable?

    please respond it would hep greatly :}

  • @ForTehFallenDreams if it has red and black probably

  • thanks:)

  • When I connect the USB, the computer shuts down automatically. Help!

  • To bad usb fans run at like 5v i think and my fan is capable running at 12v but only 5v be used ):

  • hey man pretty cool, but i was wondering if you can connect multiple fans to one usb wire?

  • @funyguy it will do

  • @funyguy yes, but they will go slower

  • @funyguy if you get wires and split the connection alothough you only get about 2.5v in each fan so best to use one with two different cables

  • thanks a lot dude

  • can that metal grill be taken off? What's its purpose?

  • @iCloudification yes it can be taken off, I just put it there.. its to cover the fan while its running.

  • @GhettoGang100 its old now lol, but thanks :)

  • this fan is a little slow, look at my fan ;) the video can be found on my youtube channel.

  • Great, the next video was about using toilet paper...

  • Real easy, made it in about 3mins overall (cuz i had a couple of fans and an usb cable already ready for this) it is cool and works fine =)

  • @Lal017 thanks, im glad the tutorial helped :)

  • what is the metal bit on the fan called.

  • @modz96 its a fan guard

  • Its really cool but it looks like a usb stove burner haha. Nice job on that.

  • @nickpembroke haha, thanks :) lol

  • can i push the voltage into the fan ?

  • @MusicFreakGermany their isnt that much voltage to push because usb has limited power, the fan isnt running at full speed because usb is only 5 volts.

  • what if you have black green and yellow wires

  • thanks nig

  • yes how can i connect 2 fans in 1 usb port? t

    hanks :)

  • @lunampcg If you connected two fans to one usb port, it would probably short circuit. Their is not enough voltage coming from a USB port to power two fans, let alone one. Usb is only 5v. The fan I had worked though because it was small. It actually requires 12v to run at full speed. Hope that helps :)

  • @Luda12Plyr every working elecrtical circit is a short circit, and if you'd connect 2 fans in paralel, it'l properply work, as long as you do not go over 500mA, that yould maby break your USB port!

  • For a PS3 fan, which is grey, black, and brown, which colour is which wire (as in earth, hot, information)?

If I knew this would I be able to solder the wires onto an ordinary three pin PWM plug, which has red, black, and yellow wires?

  • @RedHaxorz from what I know red is positive and black is negative. But in this case black could be neutral, grey could be positive and brown could be negative. I'm not sure 100 percent but what i would do is test the wires if you have a battery, a 12 volt maybe and touch them with two wires, alternate them until you see them spin. Hope that helps :)

  • @Luda12Plyr

I never thought of that, i'll look for a 12v. Thanks for the advice

  • @RedHaxorz no prob :)!

  • I have a fan which has a yellow, black, green and blue wire. Can I link the yellow wire to the red wire?

  • @olivierhacking I would try it with a battery first. Probably your best bet to know which one is positive and negative. Alternate them until you see the fan spin.

  • great man did the same works

  • lol i use to 4 batter packs xD v15 the fan runs to fast some times and the blade comes off so im going to take 1 batter pack out or super glue the blade or something

  • Hello. will it be possible to connect another fan and power it using the two remaining wires which were previously cut off???.....

    thanks in advance.

  • does an ac adapter also have a red and black wire?

  • @factory2012 depends on the adapter. Some have 1 black wire and another black wire with a white line, which tells you which one is positive or negative.

  • can u make a tutorial on how to connect 2 fans to an usb?

  • @factory2012 It would be the same thing, do you mean two fans to one usb port?

  • USB is 5 volts fan needs 12 volt to run at full speed.

  • correct :) lol

  • ooh i found the two wires from usb catch alight when touching :O LoL

  • lol it sparked?

  • @Luda12Plyr Yeah somehow its only what 5 volts, an the wire turned glowing orange :O

  • I didnt think the fans had that low of a voltage....haha......

  • they don't for some reason the fan speed is really low. I tried it on my PS2 and it was fast and loud..USB voltage is not that much. There is something i'm missing but i forget the name of it.

  • @Luda12Plyr By PS2 do you mean playstation 2 or PS/2 port?

  • No i meant my actual Playstation 2..in the usb ports lol..not mouse connector
