  • Hi there ...I am trying to solve an issue regarding the plastic limb tips on crossbows ...I have upgraded to a more expensive string and also made it an inch shorter for more power but the cost is the plastic tips blow because they are thin and cheap. I want to shape and mould tips like that of the more expensive crossbows ...would this be ideal or is there another compound that will serve the problem better ...cheers

  • Trying to cast simple 3/8 washers ... What should I use for a mold material?

  • How hard is this material????? I have to make a shoe high for a high heel shoe... is it possible.. is this strong enough to be a shoe heel???

  • @allboutme630 It may be strong enough, depending on the configuration of the heel. If, after testing, you find you need a harder mater, we have dozens to choose from.

  • Is the plastic safe to serve food on?

If not, any reccomendations? I'd like to create custom serving trays for cold appetizers and shot glasses. It wouldn't have to handle anything hot, though I'd like to be able to rinse/wash it in the sink.

  • @TehJayZ This material does not have a food a food safe rating. Our TASK 11 does have a DRY food contact rating - this may or may not be suitable for your application.

  • @Schoening91 You should have room sized ventilation when using urethane materials. Some of our customers choose to use a respirator as well.

  • actually this resin is quite strong; but if I'm after super tough & super strong, I tend to look at Smooth-On's TASK Series resins for more materials options.

  • i would like to know if your plastic is tough enough to not shatter when dropped, i am making diy helmets and i want to make one out of your plastic but only if it is strong enough for true helmet qualities

  • @eddie2000ad You may want to investigate our Smooth-Cast 65D - it has a higher impact resistance.

  • That was easy! Thanx for sharing :)

  • @coojstar69 I don't think so. It might be too brittle. There are some resins I have on order that seem to be tough but with a small amount of give in them. Will let ya know.

  • @coojstar69 I'm building a prototype rifle stock and need to know what type of liquid plastic resins to use, hwat materials to make the mold out of and where to buy them in thailand.
