To make chronicle sword and purchase wise owl sword use dagger glitch to upgrade till u reach atmillia sword after atmillia its chronicle! Pre simple best sword aside from chronicle sword 2. But I suggest ruby as well for her great magic power prob just as strong as toan if not stronger

@queenaldra use none atribute its the best agaist him plus max out the chonicle sword and the osmonds gun or rubys magic then the game is eazy as fuck then u got to finish demon shaft if u like if u need help ask and use stamina drinks and the things u revive again

@queenaldra have you ever notice after a while that the genie stops to shield himself with his wings? after he removes them look carefully at his hands (before he puts them in the ground). study his hand colors. (for example: pink on his left, or holy and red on his right, or fire.) right before he put a hand in the ground, quickly go to the menu and change your weapon's attribute to that color, or element. it took me a while to figure that out. if u have any questions just message me.

Man this is the FIRST game I have ever liked so much that I accually shed a tear upon beating the Dark Genie. For a game that came out pretty much when the PS2 was released, this has to be one of the best old platform RPG games ever made.

Ha, I remember that feeling. Sold it in 2004 because I couldn't beat Genie (was 12 at the time), lost interest in it, etc. Bought it back for like 5 bucks in '09. Beat it that time.

im using the Sunsword on +26 and all but the metal damage maxed and did 500 min damage to his hands then a fairy ring +10 and did 200+ damage on him but i couldnt beat him......my defence was to low how can i get more defence stuff for Toan and Ruby?

Heh heh, last time I played through, I glitched into the Demon TOwer, and got the Chronicle 2 sword before completing Gallery of Time. Dark Genie goes down FAST. >=3

Apparently something to do with the fact that it was my *second* playthrough. I guess the programmers were lazy and just programmed the unlocking of the tower with "is the player at the Gallery of Time, and has the game been beaten before?" (ie; not specifiying if *that* save file was the one that beat the game or not)

A rather well-built game, the only true glitch I've heard of is a "broken dagger" glitch you can find here if you look. (compare to, say, Ocarina of Time; there's alot of glitches that let you do all kinds of crazy shit). But it's effects are random at best, or it might just mess up any weapons to try to use it on.

So, for Dark Cloud, there's only really strategies, not any real secrets....

I'm sure this has been said a bajilion times, but that wing move is really noobish. The only thing I haven't tried to resist it is actually blocking, which I haven't used the entire game! @popowerst I know a way, but its quite unfeasable in battle.

Use Goro's charge move whilst he's doing it. If you time it right, it'll miss. But in the heat of battle with Ruby, you really don't have time to change, charge it up and time it right.

Hey, i had a dark cloud demo on either a ps1 or ps2 disk ages ago, i didnt know much but you had to go into a cave looking for things to improve your city with i think....there was also a mans closet in a default house with some sort of lizard/newt in it....if anyone could help me find out whhat dark cloud i was playing i would be HIGHLY greatful.
