Dude, it's like, I know they're awesome and all, I understand the whole "spell it right or GTFO", but what I think everyone is trying to tell you, is that they lack the understanding of the song to sing it with the appropriate emotion. The song is lacking life. I get it that it's a showchoir, but they're SINGERS before being a choir. Emotion is a part of being a singer. I know that because I made half my school cry singing Total Eclipse of The Heart in the Talents' show.

Hmm...the soloist didn't float my boat, he was flat, and his tonal quality was terrifying. The blend of the overall choir scared me the women really overprojected....it was like watching middle schoolers trying to be a show choir. It saddens me to think that this is the choir that won first place...it's the fall of Broadway and show chiors, nay! The fall of entertainment everywhere! The choreo was WAY predictable as well, oh, ripple down, ripple up...spin...and it didn't fit the music.

this is horrible. the soloist has a terrible sound and vowels. the music isnt sung to the correct style. the costumes dont make sense. the choreography is horrible and could use some cleaning....they must be performing at some low grade competitions.

@titaniumman54 I agree that the soloist isn't the best. But he isn't the worst either. And idk how you say the music isn't sung to the correct style. It's supposed to be show choir. Not rock. Show choir is all about diction and clarity while in rock music most of the time you can only understand half of the words! The choreography isn't the greatest but they did it near perfectly. I don't see the flaws you are seeing and I have watched this video more than you can imagine.

For a show-choir (or any choir for that matter) singing this piece I thought that they did fairly well. I think the main problem is that this song (just like so many other rock songs) is not meant to be sung with choir voices. A choir voice is smooth, harmonious, and pure and strives to be what one might call "perfected". However, songs in the rock genre are meant to be sung with a more common voice. This voice is raw, strong, and passionate. It does not strive to be "perfected" but to be

We have 2 choirs now who tonight both had shows for roughly 2,000 with 2 more sold out shows Saturday. I may seem bias, but its a known thing now Albertville is 1-2 with Clinton. Look, this recording is crap. It was NOT mic'd well. At ALL. I was AT THAT PERFORMANCE, and that was my FAVORITE number for that particular group.

The high brass sounds like garbage in this performance. In real life, it was GREAT. The player projected to the back of the auditorium where I was seated, and the group was much louder.

Pretty darn good in real life. Not on YouTube, for sure! Too bad if you didn't see it :P
