Are you sure the 2 bolts just below the boot are tight? I found mine came loose and tightening them fixed the rattle. I read that this is a common problem...I'm gonna use some threadlock and hope that solves the issue.
I worked some bearing grease into the joint on mine and it hasnt been clunky since then.... i think the stock grease is just weak and when it works its way out you really can feel the slack in the joint.
no i used the bushings that came with the hurst. i dont have any issues with mine popping out of gear. maybe you installed the shifter backwards? its very easy to do and can cause issues like this.
did you transfer the stock metal and plastic bushing into the hurst. And do you have a problem where it pops out of 5th into neutral occasunaly? if so do you know how to fix it?
i took some bearing grease and worked it down into the joint and mine stopped. it will need it every six months or so if you want to keep it quiet but at least it worked.
Have you had problems with the bolt going from the Hurst to the tranny backing out?

when you guys do your install with this shifter use the factory bushings, they seem to fix this problem nicely

Had this exact problem with my Hurst, but no one wanted to believe me when I told them.
I sold it and got a Steeda Triax.
I think I'd like to have a B&M Ripper.
