Police are targets when on the job. Why should their families be made targets as well? And frankly, if you live right by a building with noise issues, you can find out who owns it through the county recording system. Publishing addresses is just stupid.

Furthermore, I am in full agreement with Public Safety Officers having their personal information be withheld from the public. There is no question that they asked to do this job and that they accept the danger that comes with it. Why should any public safety officer have to worry about the safety of their families while they are protecting our streets. If I was a cop, I would want my information withheld espcially with people like Mr. Erickson on th loose.

Are you kidding me. If he spent time in jail, it was a jury (a body of his peers) that put him there. He is babbling in this video. If he was innocent, how come his daughter doesnt talk to him anymore? Maybe the reason they want him to leave Connecticut is because they are tired of dealing with him everytime he is off of his meds.

They're starting to want street addresses on drivers licences. here. When mine comes up for renewal, I will once again give my post office box and if they insist i give a street address I will tell them that I live in my car and it is parked in their lot outside, making the parking lot my current address.I don't want every jackass with a badge to know where I live without at least working at it. When I can know their addresses they can know mine.

Police officers are also trying to have the court room closed when they testify, AND have their name be anonymous. Which is illegal, 6th Amendment. If they cant take it they should find a different career.

I give this guy all the credit in the world for beeing brave enough to stand up as he did. Notice how nothing was said when he said what he went through in order to even get there to park!!!! How outrageous.

He was wronged. And I agree with him pointing out the "transparency". Those cops know what the hell they are doing, and they are abusing the "power" they were given. Even cops will talk about croocked cops. Sounds like CT has it's own private system of law enforcement. It's wrong!!

If you wish to sue your neighbor..seems to me you can figure out thier address.Further you dont need a persons address to sue them simply need to have them served. Serving a person at thier place of employment will suffice..the suit isnt heard at anyone's home address so its irrelivant.Filing a criminal/internal complaint against an officer further doesnt require a home address for investigation.Officers home addresses are kept confidential because there are nuts out there who would do them harm

I kind of understand your argument, but isnt that their job that they chose. "Cant take the heat get out of the kitchen".

What about the fuzz not giving their badge numbers to Citizens when requested. So the Citizen has a reliable way of filling an internal complaint.

It isnt a police officers job to be unecessarily put at risk (nor thier families) for the sake of some violent asshole twisting the defintion of rights. No one but no one has a right to endanger a cop (or anyone else). It has nothing to do not taking the heat...morons like this guy, who pose a threat to officers are the driving force behind laws that protect them...AGAIN an address is not required to sue a person..there is no lawful purpose to be served by publishing a cops address.
