The only problem i have with Eric is the fact he is wearing the catman costume, he should have came up with his own like Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent had to. If he would have been the fox i would of had a problem with that to. But he is a fantastic drummer and a lot of other great qualities you can't take away from him..

After his band, fell to shit back in the day, he made a living being Gene's coffee boy and playing in a tribute band. i love the band regardless, but im a 30 year fanatical fan who is speaking from the heart! @AceOfHeart2012 Think of it as a uniform. He has to wear what has been created for him. It's too late to put him [& Tommy] in their own 'uniforms'. I think they are showing respect by wearing the make-ups & costumes their predecessors created when the band was first formed. KISS wouldn't feel right if they just up & changed it all this far down the track. (no doubt there is probably a ton of legal crap about those particular 'characters' staying in KISS no matter who complains about it) :)

@raran44 - I'll never understand how a guy like Criss could turn down touring with KISS because of an issue with money. I'm sure his share would've been enormous, more than most people make in a lifetime. It's not like he's got other gigs. He needed to check his ego and get on with it.
@jaybone23 He's the oldest member. He was probably just getting sick of it, traveling around the world on a hectic schedule and putting on makeup six nights a week. He probably figured he was too old. I know the last time around he said Gene and Paul tricked him by telling him Ace would be playing with them (the last time Criss toured with them, that is-the Aerosmith tour in 2003). That caused some issues between him and Gene and Paul.
@HearingLossProvider Yeah, I guess I really wouldn't know what Peter's motivation was or the details behind the split. I just figuered that if he was being asked to play, he'd be crazy to say "No!" even if they didn't want to pay him what he was wanting to get out of the situation. But I wasn't there so it was wrong of me to speculate and judge.
Yeah he was from a jazz background, so? All heavy metal or hard rock stems from the blues anyway. As for Tommy and Eric being more committed...hell they are on to something good that was already established, so I would be committed to that too. BUT Ace and Peter were part of the creation. How is that not committed? KISS started experimenting into disco and that's when they started having issues. Thumbs up to Singer and Tommy, they are great musicians, but not Ace or Peter.
Also Eric Kinnda sounds like Peter a bit as far as the way his sound and speech is done. They way he says things. Peter was not alsways like that when the make up was off. When the makeup was on it gave hin a more sure soundf in his voice. If you know what I am saying.

Eric is articulate and well spoken; plus , he is a hell of a skin basher. I was thoroughly impressed with him on KISS's two most recent tours. He adds an energy and strong backbone to the modern KISS sound.
I have been a KISS fan since 1977, when i was 6 years old. IMO Both Peter and Eric are incredible drummers. I feel the same way about Ace and Tommy, Both are great. I do think new makeup should have been given to Eric and Tommy and i don't think it would have hurt KISS at all. They still would have made great music and the live show would still blow you away. But when i see the Space Ace and Catman makeup i think of Ace and Peter, its really unfair to Eric,Tommy and the fans.

I am a KISS fan from before ALIVE! and I have no problem whatever with Eric taking on the character of the Catman. He does it well and plays the old parts and new parts flawlessly. Yes, I wish this was Peter, but his ego was not in line and to be truthful, his drumming ability was deteriorating.

@01Spacemanspiff I completely disagree. Criss's drumming had style and flare. Eric just sounds like everyone else, and he DOESN'T play the drums parts the same. He 'straightens them up' if you will. All those nice syncopated beats that Peter used, Eric removes.

Eric is in a tough situation for being a drummer for KISS. Peter Criss had a problem drinking and was holding thre band up. Ace Frehley had a drug problem. He looks like hell to this day. Eric Carr died and by no fault of his own...Eric Singer need to pay bills like anyone else and he is a good drummer. Even peter Criss says he isa greeat drummer. If someone doesn't like to see Eric Singer in the band...well that is your own problem. Ace and Peter shot themselves in the foot. Good Man!
@zgomer1 - Ace Frehley is a much more talented guitarplayer as Thayer, he left Kiss by his own decision 2001! Drugs and Alc or not, it is the past, Simmons and Stanley wanted him to stay. Saw him live and it was great. And Kiss - saw them at Rock am Ring 2010 - horrible show. Kiss at its best after reunion was in the year 2000...imo. Singer and Thayer just have to do what Simmons and Stanley want, nothing more...they even don't get "much" money like Frehley and Criss in 1996-2001/03. Muppets!

@raran44 - I'll never understand how a guy like Criss could turn down touring with KISS because of an issue with money. I'm sure his share would've been enormous, more than most people make in a lifetime. It's not like he's got other gigs. He needed to check his ego and get on with it.

@jaybone23 He's the oldest member. He was probably just getting sick of it, traveling around the world on a hectic schedule and putting on makeup six nights a week. He probably figured he was too old. I know the last time around he said Gene and Paul tricked him by telling him Ace would be playing with them (the last time Criss toured with them, that is-the Aerosmith tour in 2003). That caused some issues between him and Gene and Paul.

@HearingLossProvider Yeah, I guess I really wouldn't know what Peter's motivation was or the details behind the split. I just figuered that if he was being asked to play, he'd be crazy to say "No!" even if they didn't want to pay him what he was wanting to get out of the situation. But I wasn't there so it was wrong of me to speculate and judge.

Yeah he was from a jazz background, so? All heavy metal or hard rock stems from the blues anyway. As for Tommy and Eric being more committed...hell they are on to something good that was already established, so I would be committed to that too. BUT Ace and Peter were part of the creation. How is that not committed? KISS started experimenting into disco and that's when they started having issues. Thumbs up to Singer and Tommy, they are great musicians, but not Ace or Peter.

Also Eric Kinnda sounds like Peter a bit as far as the way his sound and speech is done. They way he says things. Peter was not alsways like that when the make up was off. When the makeup was on it gave hin a more sure soundf in his voice. If you know what I am saying.

I take back all of my negative comments about this joker thinking he is Peter Criss. At first I was really upset that this dick-hole has Peter make up on...which looks really fucking stupid btw. But I just saw the KISS Wal-Mart commercial and I was so impressed with Eric's acting that now I totally love him. Seriosly, he represented Wal-Mart better than Miley Cyrus. You are so gifted. Thank you Eric...for making KISS a super group again. I was really worried there for awhile. Sell out fuck.

Eric is articulate and well spoken; plus , he is a hell of a skin basher. I was thoroughly impressed with him on KISS's two most recent tours. He adds an energy and strong backbone to the modern KISS sound.

I have been a KISS fan since 1977, when i was 6 years old. IMO Both Peter and Eric are incredible drummers. I feel the same way about Ace and Tommy, Both are great. I do think new makeup should have been given to Eric and Tommy and i don't think it would have hurt KISS at all. They still would have made great music and the live show would still blow you away. But when i see the Space Ace and Catman makeup i think of Ace and Peter, its really unfair to Eric,Tommy and the fans.

the Peter Criss make up is a hold back for Eric, Gene should let him stand out as himself, not a Peter Criss look a like. In the early 90s Eric really stood out as the kiss drummer., Now Eric and Tommy will be rememberd as Peter and Ace look a likes, Its disrespectful to Eric, Tommy, Peter, and Ace.

@atomicozz I am not a fan of the fact that Eric wears Peter's make-up. He is a far better drummer than Peter. If Gene & Paul were smart they would have given him & Tommy new make-up designs. Most of the resentment from fans would accept them a bit more.

A lot of the comments on here are posted by retards. Eric Singer is a far superior drummer to Peter Criss and I say that as a huge Peter Criss fan. Peter Criss is why I play the drums today. I am a KISS fan from before ALIVE! and I have no problem whatever with Eric taking on the character of the Catman. He does it well and plays the old parts and new parts flawlessly. Yes, I wish this was Peter, but his ego was not in line and to be truthful, his drumming ability was deteriorating.

I saw Kiss with Tommy and Eric and I must say that it is pitiful to see and hear about the internship. @01Spacemanspiff I completely disagree. Criss's drumming had style and flare. Eric just sounds like everyone else, and he DOESN'T play the drums parts the same. He 'straightens them up' if you will. All those nice syncopated beats that Peter used, Eric removes.

Eric is in a tough situation for being a drummer for KISS. Peter Criss had a problem drinking and was holding thre band up. Ace Frehley had a drug problem. He looks like hell to this day. Eric Carr died and by no fault of his own...Eric Singer need to pay bills like anyone else and he is a good drummer. Even peter Criss says he isa greeat drummer. If someone doesn't like to see Eric Singer in the band...well that is your own problem. Ace and Peter shot themselves in the foot. Good Man!

@zgomer1 - Ace Frehley is a much more talented guitarplayer as Thayer, he left Kiss by his own decision 2001! Drugs and Alc or not, it is the past, Simmons and Stanley wanted him to stay. Saw him live and it was great. And Kiss - saw them at Rock am Ring 2010 - horrible show. Kiss at its best after reunion was in the year 2000...imo. Singer and Thayer just have to do what Simmons and Stanley want, nothing more...they even don't get "much" money like Frehley and Criss in 1996-2001/03. Muppets!

@rubenick Dude, Ace was ALWAYS doing drugs. He missed recording sessions from hangovers, he was in car accidents. And Ace doesn't give a shit about KISS. Why do you thing he kept quiting? He pussied out in '82 an then again after the reunion era. Same thing with Peter except he didn't agree with his contract after the reunion era. Both guys really didn't carea about KISS after the destroyer era and they still don't.
