i dont like how phelps was on streamline and he had his right arm underneath the left but still pulled with the left arm first. little things like that makes huge difference in a race
@TheLeilisa Well partly, the really key are the proportions of the body. I mean long torso and relatively short legs (like Phelps). With these proportions you are like a motorboat in the water.
taller, better... at leas many thought so including me.
however, in 94, alexander popov thought that the new record holder should have been taller from him to beat his 100 m record. but it wasn't so. first klim and later on van den hoogenband broke the records although they are far shorter than him...
@projwal Yes he's pulling with an S, as it pulls a lot more water then just pulling straight down. It's also easier to enter EVF while pulling with an S than just pulling straight down
@thatirishkid333 thanks i need a couple of inches more in height , there is this herbal product named " helpo gowth formula" w....helpogrowth(.)commm that i have been using for months now, and actually can notice the difference. It makes you grow taller.
Damn! Even in slow motion he can do it faster than me!

@TheLeilisa having a longer torso and shorter legs is an advantage, so in phelps's case, yes.

he has a good double dolphin, its one of the main reasons he won the olympics.
ive tried his double dolphin but he has an over advantage, he dislocates his arms to be more areodynamic, making him glide through the water.

His freestyle is still fast, but man Popov had/has the best freestyle technique.

@cecisurfer yeah, same...i tried learning to bilateral breath but my stroke just fell apart, it was way less efecient

y is phelps only breathing to one side? isnt that bad?
catmuncheroncrak 2 years ago
it's a more common breathing pattern in sprints, a breath every other stroke is more air than every 3

this is great it shows how Phelps goes underwater while Vanderkaay is already swimming. No one goes under as long as Phelps
