  • One of the best versions on youtube. Harp and Bach goes very well together.

  • So simple, yet so beautiful

  • when someone plays this on a harp it kind of feels heavenly, doesn't it?

  • why would anyone dislike this?? it was perfect. =)

  • To this ONE person who disliked this, you are a complete PRAT!

  • @newall21 Well the interpretation isn't actually that WOW...

  • I think it is played on a clavichord which is similar to a harpsichord but hits the strings instead of plucking them. (just a guess)

  • This piece gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. Mainly because of it's significance. it is the opening piece to the most important compendium of western music, the well-tempered-clavier and it sounds as if it was the introductory piece to all western music.

  • I listen to this as I watch the sun set, It's light shimmering off fluffy cloudes, fresh air fills my lungs. Oh sometimes I do love life.

  • I luv this piece =) it allows you to express yourself

  • absolutely loved the interpretation --as Bach wrote it

  • absolutely loved the interpretation (as Bach wrote it!!!! )

  • belloo.

  • lalalalalala....

  • This is on a digital? Sounds pretty and smooth. I want one because I think it'll be easier on the fingers. lol

  • This is beauty in its purest form.

  • Wonderful

  • Wonderful version ! Who is the pianist ???

  • @JMEASYGOING No suena a piano, parece un arpa, no?

  • @yoleta

Oui, c'est magnifique à la harpe egalement

J'espere que tu parles français ? Do you prefer english ?

  • Thank you Camposi, and also the eleven people who like my comment.

  • Brilliant.

  • Amazing to think this was written almost 300 years ago.

  • Incredible piece .... and the theme is hidden in a few rock/pop songs I know. ....

  • Thank you for this exquisite masterpiece.

  • Well done. This is only the second version of Prelude number 1 I have found on YouTube in which the artist did not put some stupid flourish on in the last five seconds of the piece.

  • @ErieBoy62

I was just thinking the same. :)

  • @ErieBoy62 listen to the glen gould version, it is also real like this.

  • It sounds like a harp to me, too. (And I have the pic hanging up over my harpsichord.)

  • Yeah. Harpsichords sound different, plus it sticks to Bachs crescendos and diminuendos.

  • I don't think this is a harpsichord, it sounds awfully like a harp.

  • @MissyHolland

...sounds to me too like a "well tempered harp". ..... I think the pieces of Bach can be played on every instrument (organ, flute, synthesizer, piano, electric guitar .... they sound great!

  • ¡Ciertamente hermosa ésta obra1

  • I agree with William Buckley: "If Bach isn't in heaven, then I don't want to go there."

  • @MissyHolland

I´m sure he´s in heaven and when I go there one time - I want to take my guitar with me and have a session with him!

  • sounds like it's being played on a harp!

  • i think so too, musicoftheuniverse!
