These are not for use just casually shooting, they are mainly for load development where anyone in their right mind (leaving you out) would not sit and shoot a couple hundred rounds of heavy caliber ammo over the course of a weekend and feel like going to work Monday morning with a bum shoulder.

I didn't say developing a GUN, I said LOAD development, where you load batches of ammo with incremental charges to determine which one best suits the particular rifle you're going to use it in. You may even be testing several different powders and / or bullets. Some of us working folks don't have all the time in the world to play so we load up as much test ammo as can REASONABLY be fired in the time allotted and the review the results later, without a broken arm.
