I think the reason Purdue Hoosiers don't believe the compliments is most Hoosiers R exclusive & distrust all who R not part of their exclusive cliques. Hoosiers view schmoozing as a sign of insobriety & being a poor, social climber/gold digger. Hoosiers R pretty sober-minded people with their feet planted firmly on the ground & not inclined to deceive or be deceived. Compliments R usually given appropriately. The CheerUp guys R hot. Someone should tell them that.
