What a compositional soloist. He references his orig. rubato idea in the opening meas. of his solo. I'm going to transcribe this as soon as I can. Truly one of the great masters of music in any era.

It seemed the drummer (Vinnie Colaiuta I believe) looked at the bassist with contempt around 4:20. The same with Chick around 5:46. Perhaps they desired more interaction from the bassist. Musicians care to comment?
