Nah, after seeing the video I made some little research and I discovered this guy working in FOX in FL and found some email adress and I sent the video link to him...I hope so he could get it and see it...
@yessicaflores79 Groovy is a 1960s word. Also, phonographs and canyons are groovy. Yes, I heard about the Sahara closing, but the reality is that there isn't any loose nor excess money floating around anymore. And it's not like the new owners didn't try, as they were doing improvements and remodeling.
@coffee4binky And the robbery among their rooms (as some reviewers stated on tripadvisor) and the management not doing about it, and the manager saying: "We have Wynn where the Desert Inn once was. We have the Mirage where the Castaways once was. We have Bellagio where the Dunes used to be and we have the MGM Grand where the Marina was. And we can go on and on."...So I guess the Sahara will be demolished...
@yessicaflores79 Don't know anything about crime, presently, at casinos. Don't doubt it, either. I do know that the Mafia used to go into hotels rooms and local houses and steal stuff like no tomorrow, but people turned a blind eye to the Mafia in NV, because they kept both violent gangs, unions, and the state government in line. The movie Casino is accurate about Spilotro having tipsters around town, stealing from guests.
@coffee4binky Yeah, I remember that one...BTW, one of my favorite movies from all the times...At the end of the movie, it appears an instrumental song which points to the real casino whom happens all these stuff (Stardust) and yesterday, I read that the real Mr. Rothstein (Frank Rosenthal) was, indeed, an FBI informant and he has been offered to enter at the Witness Protection program, which he refused...
@coffee4binky BTW, despite to book myself at the Riviera and the IP on my upcoming trip in April...I will book at the Sahara, just to enjoy how does it feels staying there...and my whole idea is making my own version of Lady Gaga's "Dance in the dark" (inside of the room and casino)...
Steve Wynn originally saved this newer part of the Dunes when he demolished the older part (a sad day in my life) because he was going to build the Bellagio around it...then he decided to take the rest out so he could move the Bellagio back closer to the freeway. If you watch episodes of COPS from Vegas, you'll see this implosion in the open.
YouTube/Google user "SgtThom" has decided to go around on my videos with him and his "friends" and knock down all user ratings to half a star. I recommend blocking YouTube/Google user "SgtThom" to protect yourself as a fellow YouTube/Google user.
Oakey doakey. If there weren't copyright issues, I'd go ahead and post the strangeness ABC World News Now has on the dates after the implosion. All of it is stating September.
To be frank, 1993 till 2003 was a freaking blur in my life.
This South tower implosion was in July, 1994--wanted to drive up from Phoenix to see it, but had to work. This building was finished in 1979 and wasn't nearly as iconic as the North tower which had stood since about 1963.... Still wish I could've been here to see it live--thanks for posting!
July? Strange, but the ABC World News Now broadcast that follows has a September date. Maybe they had a computer glitch. LOL! Besides the point, here, all, watch building fall down go boom!
You can say that again! Everybody and his dog knows and has seen the North Tower...topple, but this South Tower footage just was a happenstance when I had woken up real early on morning from a sleepless night during the 9th grade. I think it was in Sep. 94. Footage of the South Tower collapsing is used in Casino towards the end, when deNiro calls the place Disneyland.
That Doug Smith guy looks handsome...

I was actually there when they imploded this building. It was just after I graduated from H.S. it happened in June of 1994.

What a great find! Not much is shown about the south tower. The fanfare from the North Tower's implosion overshadowed this.
