only two other languages?! C'MON! The Star Season was majorly important! It was the last season and I bet they didnt want in any other langage because of the Starlights!
@berry24 WELL I'm Brazilian and I know why they have male voice... is just to hide that they are Sailor(Women) and if they had female voice will get wierd too cause they have male apearence do they? then when they turn into women their voice changes too
@Coldsilfur4 If you think so, It means you haven't seen the episode they appear shirtless in the lake. they appear shirtless, with a very athletic male chest and male bermudas. Watch the series again!!
@berry24 WELL I'm Brazilian and I know why they have male voice... is just to hide that they are Sailor(Women) and if they had female voice will get weird too cause they have male apearence do they? then when they turn into women their voice changes too
@hurricanger LOL Yeah I know; you're not the first one I've heard it from. The whole concept is still weird to me. But it's fine with me whatever you guys think of them.
Coreylai, honestly, you should wait on posting a sured statement until you're ACTUALLY sure. There are cantonese speakers on here, like me, who laugh at your assumptions 'cause they're absolutely wrong. It's as if you don't even know how ignorant you sound.
'Bihn suhn' (bin san) means, "Alter the body!", or as we english speakers would say, "Transform!", in Cantonese. The non TVB version simply chose to use words from the english language as a substitute.
Brazil did the best job with the Starlights; I love how the contrast between them and the Three Lights was made further apart vocally, so it was less obvious that they were the same. Plus, I love the voices for the three in civilian form in that dub.
I really like the Brazilian....it is Very believeable that 3 male singers transform into 3 female sailor soldiers I like how each of them had different voices
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oh my god you moron you CAN check there are two dubbing versions from Hong Kong. One is shown on the TV and one shown on VCD. You idiot just minus our comment marks. If you still insist that you're right, you are hopeless and incorrigible, incurable.
I am also a cantonese Now I would like to tell you what they're saying
Fighter:戰鬥者流星力量,變身!(Jin Dau Je Lau Sing Lick Leung, Bin sun!)(Fighter Shooting-star Power,Transform<-not make up!)
Healer:治療者流星力量,變身!(G Liu Je Lau Sing Lick Leung, Bin sun!)(Healer Shooting-star Power, transform!)
Maker:創造者流星力量,變身!(Chong Jo Je Lau Sing Lick Leung, Bin sun!)(Creator/Maker Shooting-star Power, transform!)And then the last sentence:Sailor Starlights,而家出場!(Sailor Starlights,"Yi Ga Chuet Cheung"<-Now stage on)
This maybe a little late in the game, but let me just chime in for you, because I AM a cantonese speaker: Yes, it IS Cantonese. Trust me. I'm asian American, my parents are of Chinese origin, I would know.
Now, let me ask you one thing: have you actually heard Chinese before (other than from this video or other related youtube videos)? More to the point, have you heard how Mandarin and Cantonese sound and are you able to hear difference between the two?
LOL! Actually, that's close but not quite. "Bien shuhn" is more like it (the "sh" in certain accents is more short and less liquidy like the one we use in English. For example, my mom, as a vietnamese native, taught me the sharp 'sh' pronunciation).
And btw, 'xin' (pronounced, "chjeen") means gold. (金) :P
Do you realize that you're speaking to a lot of chinese-speaking youtubers (like me) who know better than you do whether or not the chinese segment of this video is in Mandarin or Cantonese?
While my reply here is nine to ten months later, with due respect, if you don't speak the dialects of the language or haven't heard them before, I suggest you simply let us cantonese/mandarin-speaking youtubers do the talking. I would hate to see you get embarassed. :(
wow!! I didn't know there wazs a version in mandarin... and the brazilian version is so diferent from the portuguese version. specially the voice of healer! tnx for the video!
Actually, I found that in someone´s youtube profile. everybody finds cantonese videos, and I found this one who people said was cantonese too. But I have a chinese friend here in my country and he saw this one and told me that was Mandarin.
I think many people in the net maybe mistakes both.
I think a lot of people make the mistake because they just don't understand that there's regional dialects (more like different languages) in China that are mutually unintelligible to each other.
I saw Saillor Starlights before.

Thats MANDARIN... ¬¬
Cantonese ends with MAKE UP...

no bin san IS cantonese. AND there are 2 versions of sailormoon in hong kong. This one is made for television viewing while "makeup" is for the VCDs
seraphofevil 4 years ago
go search up for pegasus92chan because he uploaded Sailormoon vids that ARE MANDARIN.
seraphofevil 4 years ago
this is cantonese. they say 變身(transform) at the end, but pronounced as cantonese.
cantonese = bin san
mandarin = bian xin
powerkjhclub 3 years ago 6
thank you...i dont understand why people argue against this.
ineedabuspass 3 years ago
powerkjhclub, if you don't mind, there's one very minor correction I'd like to point to you.
The phonetic pronunciation of 'body' is not "san". It's "sun/suhn". "San" (山) means mountains. lol
RapNameChaudeezy18 3 years ago
well..thank you for the correction..i don't speak cantonese...
and i did made another error...
in mandarin it should be, bian shen...i wrote as bian xin..
powerkjhclub 3 years ago
RapNameChaudeezy18 3 years ago
well..i wrote it according to the pinyin in mandarin.
xin is Sheen in Mandarin.

Yes take it from a person who actually speaks the language. This is Cantonese. The TVB Version does not say Make Up.

This version is way better than the potuguese one, but maker's voice is perhaps a bit too deep. Other thatn that, sounds great!
