yes u need a special kind of tire. if u go to ebay they have a lot of dirft cars. just type in rc drift car and there u go. i bought my drift car from ebay and it goes 50 + mph and drifts and i love it, it works perfectily. some rc cars can drift without drift tires if it goes fast enough. hope this helps u pick ur car

it doesnt matter what setup you have as long as you have 4wd and a locked rear diff (how to lock diff: simply stick it full of paper) and PS use HPI T-drift Tyres or PE ones

I was out at speedi models and i was like "hey stephen, how much for that ta05" and he said "100 squid, 20 cockles" and i said "oh yeah, will you hook me up with kawada D4's for a bonito?" and stephen said "yes can do" so i paid 100 squid, 20 cockles and a bonito and went home. and then i went on tower hobbies and traded a mamba maxx for a seasnake medium. and that arrived and i was like 'Booyah!' and then i went outside and drifted for awhile, and thought to myself 'that was seafood well spent'

To get one of these going for £100 is difficult, as even the cheapest radio gear is £40+ new, so you'd have to buy a secondhand touring car or something with differentials that can be locked solid. Go to your local RC car club to see if anyone's selling an old one. Or check eBay as I've had complete rolling chassis for £30. And check some RC forums for what to do before you buy! New from a shop the good drift packages are around £150 just for the car!!! Radio is extra.

From what i read on the credit, they are mostly yokomo branded mr4tc-sd chassis and tamiya tl-01 chassis with different body shell strap on it with a few tt-01 thrown in the mix. a complete starter kit would prob' cost bout aus$250 up to the sky for an elec' powered ones (most stuff of can be modded with a better ones). U can get them in their nitro powered equavelent thou not recommend for new hobbyist as they are very heavy on mantaince and setups if not tlc.

TUDS: electric is better... it is cheaper, faster, and it is skillful for drifting. can I recomand a undercarriage? x-ray is very good, but it is expensive (for me), look for tamiya. they are pretty good and cheap. when do you want to drift you must also have drift tyres (yokomo).

No, you don't have a Gas powered RC truck. What you have is a Nitro Methane powered one. I hate few things more than fools who go buy something like a Traxxas T-Maxx and then say "Oh, I have a gas rc truck" NO, you don't. What you have is more money than sense. And why use nitro for drifting? It has less low-end torque, so it wouldn't work as well.
