Mark is one of the finest people I know. He would come over and jam out with my dad and his friends and then come over some other days and teach my dad his songs
Mark May is the real deal! 1st time I heard he's band the Agitators was on the blues channel on Direct TV a bunch of years ago performing / You're Leaving Baby. WHAT A SONG! He came through the Hagerstown, MD area 1 time and I missed him. Sh#%t. Get his 1st album. It's killer!
i LOVE this guy! what a talent. i bought his telegraph road c.d. i swear it was 10 yrs ago.its STILL one of my gems. this video is the first time ive ever seen him performing. i wish he would come to the chicago area someday.
Mark is truly one of the finest players out there! I remember working my booth at the Texas Guitar Show one year, and I'm trying to "drum up some business" so I start playing my guitar and I'm playing "Back in the Joint", and I look out the corner of my eye and there is Mark watching ME play HIS song! I was so embarrassed, and he just gives me a thumbs up and tells me that I'm doing a great job! Then he proceeds to come in and show me more of the licks. What a true gem of a guy!
Thanks for posting this, even if the vid quality is bad. Mark is a great player as well as the rest of his band (sorry, can't recall everyones names) . If you can find his CD- Telephone Rd, buy it! You won't be disappointed! If you are in H-town go see him live, they are a great band!
FINALLY, Mark live on YouTube.... He's my MAN! Love love love him and have been seeing him live for years. Thanks SO much for sharing his awesome talent with us all!
Terrible video--does not give this outstanding guitarist/songwriter/singer his due. Agree with phatsideout that Mark is a very decent human being--really generous with his fans and other players.
I first discovered about Mark some 5 years ago and he's still one of my favourite pick everytime I want some good blues and funky sound around me.
One of the most talented and less known great bluesman around...wish he'll be touring around here someday...otherwise I'll have to step over there!;-)
You're so right, scottr1938. I definitely needed a tripod. Sorry for the unsteady camera work. Next time I'll use a tripod and do better, but I think Mark and the band still sound great no matter how shaky the photography.
yeah Ken I liked his tone and style, was getting dizzy trying to watch the video,is your brother signed to a label? You should check out my best friend playing his guitar on you tube and let me know what you think, his name is Frankie Starr
Mark May. Very nice man and extremely talented player. I always liked this tune and now that I know it's for his mom I like it even more. Wish Mark would give Fayetteville another chance.

@scottr1938 I agree! It's kinda hard to groove and rock out with a camera. Maybe someone should tell him, ya think???
