Their internet connection is dumb. I've not been able to watch any videos for a whole fucking week. It gives me about 5 seconds to watch a video then it buffers for 5 fucking minutes. It's hell, I tell you.

Funny thing is even though I transferred with a mac code AND contact virgin directly to confirm my last payment they are still trying to take money off me. I cancelled by direct debit, now they've got the debt collectors phoning me. IDIOTS!!!
I am having terrible problems with my virgin media router, when I connect my connection speeds are amazing however somedays it just decides to stop fucking working. I try turning the router on and off, leaving it 5 minutes off and then turning back on, it says the connection is excellent but there is no connection to the internet at all and it keeps telling me to keep turning it off and I;m sick of it :/
The majority of then people that complain though are the people that fail to understand that the majority of there advertising is either false. Or there fool you. Unlimited downloads is only valid from 50mb and above which takes me to my next point. 8mb broadband, 50mb broadband, why are they the same? Because i am saying 8 Megabytes and 50megabits. Unfortunately it's not false advertising. And designed for people that don't understand the fundamental differences between megabytes and megabits.
seriously, been with them for 4 years, since there name was "telewest broadband" ive had the fibre optic 10meg for ages. I can't complain. my ping is around 15ms and im on a router, wireless laptop. So unless you have a router from the 90s i guess its your own setup, or your area. Mine works perfect. But they're customer service does suck a bit. I do reccomend them though, they are the fastest in the UK.
Been with virgin ever since they started the internet service, Never had a problem. Now I have a 100MB Connection, On speedtest is shows up as 99.6MB, which is great. If your internet goes slow, its your problem.
Even if you got them speeds the ping would still be under 50ms. The only times ping go above 100ms is when your uploading at the same time as downloading. You have obviously got some sort of program running in the background!

I hate them! it would be quicker to take a USB stick and go to steam servers and copy across the game files then come back home and copy them to my PC than it would be to download a game using virgin media, plus its called virgin media because the people who run it are all virgins.

Sometimes VirginMedia’s network causes the problem, but you must remember that your connection is shared with other people in your street. So if they are misusing their connection you suffer. Also when you call tech support you are first diverted to first line support 90% don't know anything about broadband or computers in general, they just follow a screen that prompts them.
I love how you dont show us what else youve got running on your computer, cause you know for a fact you get more than that as i pinged your line. Turn youpr0n off and you'll get a better connection

Ive had 10mb for over 3-4years now with them and not 1 problem , but now almost everyday, I get between 1-2mb , And i barely even get that... virgin are completely useless now.
i download from torrents alot and get my full 2.5MB download speed from my 20 meg broadband but when i use that site its usualy below 10meg i think its the test sites there not good at all and depends on the amount of users using it.
first id suggeat buying a new computer as ur still running windows 2000 or earlyer, if thats not possible get a virus scanner and scan it! and also check what programs are running im betting some are using up ur bandwith

Im paying for 10Mb from Virgin, 95% of the time, I get 10Mb, if it does drop, It's only to arounf 7Mb. I am very happy with them, and better still, 50Mb as just become available in my area, Im gonna ring later on when the miss's gets back.

I'm getting a good solid 20 megabites through a cable. Your connection sucks or you're a victim to Virgin's download capping. BE is the way to go if you've got a BT phoneline.
I have just wrote to my MP to complain about what VM is doing now they have 24/7 auto throttling system so and here the best bit they say unlimited DL but you cant DL unlimited at broadband speeds they capp the 3% high users to 990k. Fuckin rip off thanks god i get out sep 5th never going back to VM. O2 or BE on a BT line is the best but i cant get the 24adsl2+ until my exchange is upgraded to the 21Centry BT network hopefully mid 2009 people pass this on let your friends know what VM is doing

Even if you got them speeds the ping would still be under 50ms. The only times ping go above 100ms is when your uploading at the same time as downloading. You have obviously got some sort of program running in the background!

Virgin Media was actually pretty good for me. Only once in about 1.5 years did it cut out for me. Awesome pings in games and constant 9.8mb down.
