No matter the song rap is rap, it's some of the artist who don't know true hip hop...and don't deserve the right to be apart of a community as rap or hip hop...
Rap should take the blame for all of the violence that Rappers be Rapping about. NOT THE WHOLE ENTIRE HIP HOP CULTURE. That really realistically doesn't make any sense.
@TEACHYOUTEEWHY ? Why should they take the blame? It's freedom of speech they aren't making anyone shoot someone or rob someone if people take rap as commands like that that's on them not the rappers.
Sorry these rappers dont get a sympathy pass from me about being broke from the projects trying to make it out. Many of these guys are from the suburbs and are lying about their "hard" life. @breezwonder Yeah but you personally might suck at rapping and be worse than a particular non-black rapper, but still try to ride the 'we created it' thing when actually it was created by especially created individuals that were black
Why people confusing Hip Hop for a hood thing? Hip Hop came from the hood but it doesn't mean it's a HOOD thing, it's an Art Form that anybody can adapt. When it comes to Hip Hop, it ain't where you from, it's where you at when you do Hip Hop.
I dont get why music lke gucci maine lil wayne wakka flocka make sales and all they portray is negative actions and a bunch of BS that they might not have done and we cannot acknowledge good music lyk Cyne, Nujabes, EMc or the other underground artists that speak positive movements. Even the spanish artists that most non bilingual ppl cant understand is very provocative, like Sietenueve- Contra Viento Y Marea is a good song that speaks the truth.
TI AND 50 can use all the screwball logic they want. What's wrong young brothers with just doing what's right and quit making those jacked up videos? They are just "reaching" hard for an excuse. Probably fearful of loosing their recording contracts. These are what you call the modern day Unlce Toms that destroy and step on the backs of other blacks for their own personal gain. As long as "they" are getting paid, they don't care.
@redbonegal how is this any different than ANY other business in America? All of this attack on shit that doesnt matter is silly. Media is just a reflection of what sells. U dont like it, dont buy it. Going after successful black people is always America's way to take shit off themselves and put it on the black community. The issue isnt media, its the dam capatilist society and free enterprise system. And those idiots in office. U want to blame 3 wars, the economy, fucked up education system-
@redbonegal rising gas prices, currupted businesses, and crime rate on some rappers? spend 5 mins researching any of this crap and see what the real problem is. You cant fix an issue by scapegoating and pointing fingers. BTW, its called the first amendment, this allows rappers and anyone else to say what ever they want, especially if it addresses an idea. Entertainment industry isnt an issue worth dealing with when you look at the big picture.
Did you forget these guys were broke and came from nothing. They also are rgiht a hoe is sland for a female that does things for money. a bitch is slang for a female or male that has a temper that doesnt fit the situation. nigga is the word my homie naw of days
DAMN...... T.I. said his piece didn't he? lol As harsh as it was, it was the truth. Stop bullshittin around the topic. If you're gonna have a debate let's be real. Tired of folks givin these hollywood answers for everything. If this is a real issue let's get down to it and talk for real. I loved his response.
The real problem is that Hip Hop brings long standing issues to the forefront in an aggressive manner with aggressive content. If Hip Hop was nothing but a bunch of artists sending out positive messages all the time (and not using the negativity to force things to the forefront), America would be happy because they could still ignore the issues. These newer forms of hip hop are so infectious that the otherside cant seem to do anything to keep it out of their homes.
dam ti rude thats why the south killed hip hop now nobody dont even listen to this bullshit out now im 19 and i just listen to old school hip hop p.s she is fine!! LMAO THERE ARE BITCHES NIGGAS AND HOES LIVE IN AMERICA AND P.S IF A BLACK PERSON WOULDA CALLED THE RUTERS WOMENS BBALL TEAM NAPPY HEADED HOES THAT WOULDNT EVEN GOT NO PLAY A NIGGA B LIKE DAM SON THEM HOES THAT PLAY FOR RUTGERS SOME NAPPY HEADED BITCHES
@bl0od3d i agree but when you go to a city like Los Angeles or a city similar, even when you go to "the burbs" so to speak, the crime and murder rate is JUST as BAD as the inner city, so for some cities that doesn't work.
50 dont fuck with master p, master p started some of this shit. he is a pioneer is the gangsta rap scene, he has paid his dues and has been around alot longer than you. so bow down and pay some respect to the platinum tank
Im ick Of People Interupting Let People Finish And Then Make Your Statement Im 13 And That Makes A Hell Of Alot More Since Than Interupting Good Points Which They All Had
You gotta love how there's a boom bap (that's what they call real hip hop, for all you dummies) beat in the background at 2 minutes, but they play nothing like that on their countdown programs...
Man forget all these guys, this guy is real; Just watch this guy you can see how passionate he is and you can hear it in his voice. When he raps he speaks the truth and expresses his emotions in a way no other artist does or can do. I actually believe he is the best in the industry right now. If you seriously want to listen to or promote real music made by a real artist, you know where to go. 9.bb/163042/channelakatv
stupid rappers...stop blaming the record labels....they fuking pay you the big bucks....theyre just sell outs...who gives a crap about the non profit shit they do....theyre only doing it to serve their own conscience...
nope, thres nothing wrong with the rappers. Tell me this, when Tupac was saying 'the black the berry the sweeter the juice, the darker the flesh the deeper the roots' on keep your head up, why didnt yall pay attention but you paid attention to when he yelled 'thug life and saying fuck Biggy? this is not a rappers problem cause they are like the news, theyre reporting whats going on.
come on....lol...u must be delusional...these guys are multi millionaires...whatever they are so-called "reporting" isnt even their tru current lives....theyre the biggest frauds...the dumbest ppl are the ones who buy into this...and seriously they admit it themselves...they say they only promote this stuff cuz it sells...its not about "reporting" anything its all about the money anything that sells they will do....no morals or pride...anything for money...ridiculous
now they are multi millionaires but you just looking at their glory and not their story. Go into the lyrics closely. Ex 50 cent, 'I got shot 9 times but im still breathing, there is a prove theirs a God if you need a reason.' Thats telling his story. T.I, is speaking from the persective from someone whos from Bankhead, hes only been rich for 7 years but struggled for the majority of his 30yrs. Look at Kanye and Drake, they dont speak like someone from the hood cause they aint.
whoever said money was the root to all evil? Its what you do with that money and what do get that determines that. So are you saying the news media is evil? Because they have put out more evil on than hip hop? Are you saying the video game industry is evil? Because Call of Duty sold 7million copies in one week at $50 a pop. They are profiting far more than hip hop.
yes money is evil but for sum industries more so than others. doctors/engineers get paid alot too but thats cuz they do an important/stressful job & society needs them (PLUS they are heavily regulated industries)
eg compare: Bill Gates with say...TI...can u see the comparison?
the worse thing in the world is a fool with money....and thats all i see right now...foolish rappers with a whole heap of excuses and way too much money.
@koala8 The correct wording is "the love of money is the root of all evil". Just clarifying, because people often get it wrong and it's important to get the wording right if one is to understand it.
I find it incredibly rude how people always asume that hip hop artists are stupid. 50 cent spoke alot of sense in this show you cant paint the american flag without the colour red at the end otf the day I dont think that there aim is to promote violence they are just trying to show the world that america isn't as perfect as they like to make it out to be
@EbonyDollable The reason people assume hip-hop artists are stupid is because so many of the ones that attain a lot of prominence are woefully unable to express themselves articulately, which is ironic considering they make their money using language.
On top of that, I've observed that it's often the men who can't really articulate themselves, the women seem to do just fine...this is in light of study recently released highlighting how black males are failing academically. HMMMM....
You don't have to be a black person to be a bitch, a nigger, or a hoe. People need to realize this. People need to realize they need to be accountable for their own actions and not use entertainment as a scapegoat for the choices they make in their lives.
We think alike, there's two types of people in life the ones who go about their business & the ones who fight, it's no black or white thing either. young people can't blame their lifestyles for the fact they mug other broke youths, but the government can be responsible for the well being and conditions people especially young people are living in..
LOL TI's kids are gonna look at daddy one day and say, "Well u went to prison for guns and drugs even after you became rich, so what can you say to me about the lifestyle I choose to live?" Anybody who is a parent knows they have to lead by example
Every one of these artists are contradicting themselves. hip hop as been tooken over by the industry. Those dudes are puppets! parents cant do everything. they have outside influences too. People are weak minded to the point that music, especially hip-hop, is influencial period. And the artist wont tell you because they get paid to shut up and if they do shit will happen to them like mj, pac, bob marley, i can go on and on. Just start listening and stop bobbin to the beat. you'll wake up then..
When i was in school i wanted to fit in with my peers. So yes i wanted to dress like alot of my peers dressed. It wasnt because i wanted to be like them it was because like every other kid i wanted to be accepted. I started sagging my pants. Guess who stepped in and ended all of that. My fuckin parents. TI is on point with everything he says. I was a fool back then i know but now i dress the way i feel like dressing i dnt sag my pants at all but i still do me. I havent followed a trend in years.
Responsible parenting means questioning th validity/value/morals/ethics of music videos their children are being exposed to. Movies are rated & placed in appropriate time slots. X-rated is kept away from kids in adult stores and on adult channels but music videos have no such rating system and the fact that they're marketed to kids from the age of 6 years and up means parents do have a right to question them. It doesn't mean they cant exist but it does mean they must be marketed appropriately.
all these loaded artists need to stop making the lucrative garbage they call music and go back to the bricks that raised them, see if they can cut it underground and if not, tough, go get a job like the people who used to buy your shitty albumbs for 20 a pop.
YOU CANT BE A RICH PHILANTHROPIST, PEOPLE SAY OPERAH IS GENEROUS? GENEROUS FOR GIVING 5 MILLION DOLLARS TO SAVE THE CHILDREN? SHE HAS HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AT HER DISPOSAL, 5 MILLION FOR CHARITY IS LIKE A C.E.O. WHO MAKES 100,000 A YEAR GIVING 60 BUCKS TO CHARITY
- OPERAH GIVING ONLY 5 MILLION IS CHEAP AND GREEDY AND THOUGHTLESS, HEARTLESS, HYPOCRITICAL AND UNFAIR, T.I., NELLY AND 50 CENT ARE NO DIFFERENT
bunch of rich artists complaining about one simple fact: they can't stop fucking up america because they want to stay paid. DON'T Balme the Labels, we already know they don't give a fuck and they aren't going to give a fuck about anything but profit...the ARTISTS on the other hand are SUPPOSED to sacrifice their own wealth, success and status in order to STOP crippling the black community.
THESE "ARTISTS" AREN'T SYMPATHETIC, YOU CAN'T BE SYMPATHETIC AND RICH, JUST LIKE OPRAH'S FAT ASS.
Nelly has a very good point; A lot of these black men don't own the label, and don't give a rats ass about the black community. I can feel why nelly got pissed.
Good series BTM. So sad how many individuals on the face of this planet are not willing to OWN UP! Promoting a self indulgent society w/o morals can not be covered up by "decent/honorable" acts. If you're wrong, you're wrong! Time to stop the blame game. I can say how many times I heard (just in this video) "...I agree....BUT...". That conjunction negates EVERYTHING one claims to have agreed w/ prior.
T.I. Was Right HE Spoke The Truth at the end It Starts At Home What parents need to do is Starting Raising their Kids and Act Like Parents And The Parents have to make the kids act like kids
if parents take responsibility rappers wuld lose money. they really dnt want that. ppl dnt kno the positive things rappers do because they dnt rap about it. if rappers rapped about going to school kids who dont have strong parenting wldnt fall victim to the things seen on the streets and heard in music. if its a problem with violence being all around the black neighborhoods why continue to keep it in the music. kids know its drugs &murder in their hood. rappers dnt need to tell them that.
now that channel could have put their time into something more important like how about a marathon for innocent people because lil wayne wasnt innocent and its this type of thing that makes rap influencial. society supports all the negatives, why be mad at the law for putting lil wayne in jail for a crime he committed! atleast t.i knew whaat he did was wrong and gave to the public before he went to jail
t.i really isnt at fault and he isnt the type of rappers tht puts out the negativity because all he does is speak truth and never promotes it and really he doesnt make scandalous booty shaking vids. lil wayne is more of the culprit who promotes cheating, shooting, and making women bitches. and i put fault in the priority of the rappers and labels because what upsets me is lil wayne goes to jail for a crime he is guilty of. and everyone says free him and that channel starts a marathon for it!
Man people need to realize its not black or white or brown or yellow anymore..... Yall wanna cure the community stop the blaming of colors of people.... its not like I asked god to make me this way and hey im half white half asian and im still broke but do you hear me talking shit NO just play the best hand with the cards your given
I think the argument that music influences how a person lives - is invalid. I'm not shakin' my ass in front of brothas! But I sure like to dance to it! lol Now c'mon, people.
this panel is so biased, how the fuck can you have a debate about hip hop and exclude talib, mos def, common, chuck d, immortal technique, maybe its just me but nelly and t.i. ain't the right cats to be the spokespeople for hip hop.
@cytonius1 because the mainstream media want people the casual hip hop listener is familiar with, don't get me wrong the rappers you mentioned are 10 times better then TI or Nelly but if they were on this show it would turn into an all out political debate! and those casual listeners wouldnt tune in.
@beefkilla i agree with the casual part, but those rappers are not just political, they have a more profound perspective on hip hop, than some sell out whack rappers
@3niToxico7 Its not about only making money, cant you see. One of the main themes here is how people make their money. If you are producing things that are positive and productive to society and it makes money, GO FOR IT. But the ends DO NOT justify the means. If 50 makes money through humanitarian efforts that would be far better than what he is doing now, however no one will really care about him then because this country and its people (in general) WANT his formula of rap and lifestyle,
lmfao at the beginning... get with the program and stop using those lyrics.. that honestly made me mad.. and it made me laugh.. lmfao who is he to decide wtf the prgram is..??
im not condoning coperate america.but if the record label is saying you have to be a certain way in order to sell. That would only make these rappers sellouts. They are willing to cave in to the pressure, because they see dollar signs. and it's sad.

U want to blame 3 wars, the economy, fucked up education system-
ikcjjtt 9 months ago
@redbonegal rising gas prices, currupted businesses, and crime rate on some rappers? spend 5 mins researching any of this crap and see what the real problem is. You cant fix an issue by scapegoating and pointing fingers. BTW, its called the first amendment, this allows rappers and anyone else to say what ever they want, especially if it addresses an idea. Entertainment industry isnt an issue worth dealing with when you look at the big picture.

These newer forms of hip hop are so infectious that the otherside cant seem to do anything to keep it out of their homes.

nope, thres nothing wrong with the rappers. Tell me this, when Tupac was saying 'the black the berry the sweeter the juice, the darker the flesh the deeper the roots' on keep your head up, why didnt yall pay attention but you paid attention to when he yelled 'thug life and saying fuck Biggy? this is not a rappers problem cause they are like the news, theyre reporting whats going on.
burtontsu09 1 year ago
@burtontsu09
come on....lol...u must be delusional...these guys are multi millionaires...whatever they are so-called "reporting" isnt even their tru current lives....theyre the biggest frauds...the dumbest ppl are the ones who buy into this...and seriously they admit it themselves...they say they only promote this stuff cuz it sells...its not about "reporting" anything its all about the money anything that sells they will do....no morals or pride...anything for money...ridiculous
koala8 1 year ago
@koala8
now they are multi millionaires but you just looking at their glory and not their story. Look at Kanye and Drake, they dont speak like someone from the hood cause they aint.

at the end of the day its all just an excuse ....its simply just money that drives ppl to do what they do..money is the root of all evil.
koala8 1 year ago
@koala8
whoever said money was the root to all evil? Its what you do with that money and what do get that determines that. So are you saying the news media is evil? Because they have put out more evil on than hip hop? Are you saying the video game industry is evil? Because Call of Duty sold 7million copies in one week at $50 a pop. They are profiting far more than hip hop.
burtontsu09 1 year ago
@burtontsu09
yes money is evil but for sum industries more so than others. doctors/engineers get paid alot too but thats cuz they do an important/stressful job & society needs them (PLUS they are heavily regulated industries)
eg compare: Bill Gates with say...TI...can u see the comparison?
the worse thing in the world is a fool with money....and thats all i see right now...foolish rappers with a whole heap of excuses and way too much money.
why cant society just ignore these divas?
koala8 1 year ago
@koala8 The correct wording is "the love of money is the root of all evil". Just clarifying, because people often get it wrong and it's important to get the wording right if one is to understand it.

I find it incredibly rude how people always asume that hip hop artists are stupid. 50 cent spoke alot of sense in this show you cant paint the american flag without the colour red at the end otf the day I dont think that there aim is to promote violence they are just trying to show the world that america isn't as perfect as they like to make it out to be
EbonyDollable 1 year ago
@EbonyDollable The reason people assume hip-hop artists are stupid is because so many of the ones that attain a lot of prominence are woefully unable to express themselves articulately, which is ironic considering they make their money using language.
On top of that, I've observed that it's often the men who can't really articulate themselves, the women seem to do just fine...this is in light of study recently released highlighting how black males are failing academically. HMMMM....

You don't have to be a black person to be a bitch, a nigger, or a hoe. People need to realize this. People need to realize they need to be accountable for their own actions and not use entertainment as a scapegoat for the choices they make in their lives.
flaresama 1 year ago
We think alike, there's two types of people in life the ones who go about their business & the ones who fight, it's no black or white thing either. young people can't blame their lifestyles for the fact they mug other broke youths, but the government can be responsible for the well being and conditions people especially young people are living in..
Nomorehataz 1 year ago
LOL TI's kids are gonna look at daddy one day and say, "Well u went to prison for guns and drugs even after you became rich, so what can you say to me about the lifestyle I choose to live?" Anybody who is a parent knows they have to lead by example
11bigd22 1 year ago
Every one of these artists are contradicting themselves. hip hop as been tooken over by the industry. Those dudes are puppets! parents cant do everything. they have outside influences too. People are weak minded to the point that music, especially hip-hop, is influencial period. And the artist wont tell you because they get paid to shut up and if they do shit will happen to them like mj, pac, bob marley, i can go on and on. Just start listening and stop bobbin to the beat. you'll wake up then..

That conjunction negates EVERYTHING one claims to have agreed w/ prior.

if parents take responsibility rappers wuld lose money. they really dnt want that. ppl dnt kno the positive things rappers do because they dnt rap about it. if rappers rapped about going to school kids who dont have strong parenting wldnt fall victim to the things seen on the streets and heard in music. if its a problem with violence being all around the black neighborhoods why continue to keep it in the music. kids know its drugs &murder in their hood. rappers dnt need to tell them that.

now that channel could have put their time into something more important like how about a marathon for innocent people because lil wayne wasnt innocent and its this type of thing that makes rap influencial. society supports all the negatives, why be mad at the law for putting lil wayne in jail for a crime he committed! atleast t.i knew whaat he did was wrong and gave to the public before he went to jail
gardevoirjarron 1 year ago
t.i really isnt at fault and he isnt the type of rappers tht puts out the negativity because all he does is speak truth and never promotes it and really he doesnt make scandalous booty shaking vids. lil wayne is more of the culprit who promotes cheating, shooting, and making women bitches. and i put fault in the priority of the rappers and labels because what upsets me is lil wayne goes to jail for a crime he is guilty of. and everyone says free him and that channel starts a marathon for it!
