there should be a movie made about Iasi, while the RUmanians were very much to blame, my understanding is that the Germans orchestrated a lot of it as well
Strange you should say that! So, nazier than Hitler's Germany, heh?
I'm not saying that Romania was innocent in WW2, but still! What makes you say such appalling remarks?
Romania, was stripped of 2 regions in 1941. Transylvania was given to Hungary and Russia took Basarabia! The nationalist movement had just the spark to ignite! Hate was everywhere those days! It's not an excuse, but a motive, a strong one!
In the end Antonescu and his ilk were shot, the Legion crushed!
sorry to hear abut it. any inocent ppl that die is a tragedy. I have a friend from Gaza and Hamas kill his father because he wasnt religion enough. the difference between the last war and the holocaust is big, Hamas target only civilian - only civilian and we are in war with tham and thay declare that thay want owr extinctens. the jew in the holocaust wastnt in war with anyone and didnt threat anyone and the killing was systematic
my grandfather wife and their little girl killed in gas chamber thet was specially designed for mass killing of my all jew nation. look at other data of civilian that die in the last wars in the world and you will see that in the last war it was the same - and Im not saying that ANY ppl that die in a war isnt tragic. we are all humans no matter religion or nationlty.
Lady, let me tell you something,i might be ashamed about what my ancestors did(or not) but i tell you, there is only what nazi state left in this world and that is Israel and one concetration camp left and is called Gaza. The diffrence is that i reconise, you dont.btw,i am christian,
the fact is that Arabs live in Israel as Israeli civilian - my professor is muslim Arab with all rights like mine, since 1948 all Arab countrys fight us, some decide to have peace with us and ppl from Gaza didnt and thay never stop fighting us and we fight back. ppl from Gaza come to Israeli hospital and treated like king, if I will come to Gaza thay will slaughter with a smile. ppl from Israel dont hate Arabs or Palatinian, German or Romanian. Nazi hate ppl do to nationlty and we dont
we fight Gaza because we moved out of Gaza but thay didnt stop fire Qasam rocket. if your little brother is violent and take a chair and try to throw it on your head, you will sit on him to stop his violent than he will cry thay you agresive!!! well the little brother have to calm down before we stop siting on him (so our head remain intact) - and we have better things to do other than sit on him like spending our money on education .
"there is only what nazi state left in this world and that is Israel " To be fair, there are unfortunately a number of places where right wing militaristic regimes hold sway, or where peoples are systematically brutalised and murdered.
Yes, if it is self defense. When has a country attacked another and not claimed, -and its people even believed- that it was self defense? Very few cases indeed. It is a very fine line to cross between defense and attack. Between defending a right (to life, for example) and doing the very opposite.
@NicosNicosNicosNicos After Israel removed military and civilian populations from the West Bank & Gaza Strip more than 8 years ago, so-called Paestinians have had NO rason whatever to fear Israel or attack Israel. Yet, Hezbollah, ten Hamas, continued to fire rockets at civilian population centers in Israel, not the least of all including Sderot! For 8 years this has persisted! I would emphatically call Israel's retaliation and protection of is citizens self-defense.
Ok about "protection of its citizens" but what about attacks on civilians? Missiles on the beach, devastation of Gaza, destroying the houses of RELATIVES of suspects (just emphasis, not shouting! :)). (among the other things that make the idea of having "NO reason to fear Israel" ring hollow to many an ear.)
I mean: should not citizens be constantly vigilant of the behaviour of politicians and the military they direct, rather than accept their self-justifying discourse at face value?
@NicosNicosNicosNicos I'm sorry to say that you make it sound like Israelis are raving lunatics on speed, out to murder-maim-kill every Arab in sight when this is simply not the case at all. The IDF has continuously released videos and updates ofits activities in the Mideast just for such occasions as arise from misinformation like you are disseminating here.
You can take a look and compare/contrast targets of the IDF versus targets and points of origin of rocket fire to and from Israel versus the same to an from Gaza. Must I also point out the vast differences in each from each side?
Whereas, targets of the IDF are military or militarized zones with armed civilians and weapons caches in civilian zones, rocket fire from Gaza emanate from civilian population concentrations, civilians beingused as shields for counter-offensive weapons, etc. I can go on "ad infinitum".... as in every war, some weapon fire will inevitably strike civilians, but, in th case of the terrorists, their rockets are fired indiscriminately and maliciously targeted at civilian centers.
Survivor? You're comparing the existence of Israel to the Holocaust? You're confused my friend, or deeply demented, or a deliberate liar. Those are the only options. Has Israel killed 4-6 million Palestinians? Have they lined them up and deliberately murdered them by the trainload, day after day after day for years? No. For that matter, when was the last time an Israeli blew himself up at a Palestinian wedding, or school, or bus?? Ummm ..... Never, that's when. You're deeply confused
It is time Romanians learnt the truth about Antonescu and the Army. They were criminals. This film should be shown in every Romanian school. They glorify Antonescu who was a criminal.
I'm a romanian, and sadly most of my countrymen, still hold Antonescu to their hearts! They have no idea about the Iasi pogrom, nor the Odessa genocide, where the romanian army killed over 50000 people! I was shocked when i learned of this! Hopefully, someone should make a film or something!
@brav0wing the entire population of Odessa was LESS than 50.000 at that time idiot! and about this IASI holohoax - how come the "survivors" never pointed to any mass graves? how come nobody ever proved their claims? how come pictures of bassarabian gulag-deportees are used to portray jewish holohoax victims? how come the jews rushed back to Romania from Transnistria when the russians reoccupied it if RO was such a bad place for them? how come half a million jews were saved and sent to Israel?
@unomnacajit111 PART 1:You clearly know geography mate, Odessa is the capital city of the province of Odessa that held around 180000 people, TWANK! The Iasi pogrom is highly documented with pictures of people being shot in the streets and rounded up in trains, pictures of jews being dead and exited from the trains do exist today still.
Not to mention the massacres that the Iron Guard did in bucharest during the unrests in 1941. The jews rushed back to Romania looking for shelter.
@unomnacajit111 PART 2: The policy of Antonescu and the Iron guard, coupled with antisemitic attitude and anger towards loosing Basarabia and Transylvania, generated the Iasi Pogrom. That doesn't mean that all the romanians hated the jews, like most all of the germans did. Many jews were sheltered by us. But such were the times. And now is the time to take responsability for those crimes. In my country there was a recent debate about this and no one denied the war crimes of Antonescu.
@shlomofeuerwerk it is time children learn what the jews did in the 19th and 20th century in RO and how it still affects them. It is time they learned that jews betrayed RO in WW1. It is time they learned jews made a business out of the extermination of romanians in Alsace and Loraine. It is time they learned jews caused famine, revolts and repressions in 1907. It is time they learn jews betrayed again in WW2. And that RO never took revenge and helped half a million of them flee to Israel, etc..

I know someone who lived an inferno in Romania during the nazi period, and he
has not been able to lead a normal life. Never married.Always haunted by the
nightmares of his past. Even when he walks on the sidewalk, he runs, as if someone is out to get him.
It's truly very sad.
