@ratedrsuperstar93qc it depends what kind of amp you have, generally you want to set the "drive/distortion/gain" control high up but not so high that it gets all fuzzy and you lose clarity, a tube amp with high volume will help a lot, its no pedal, you also need strong hand technique to hold the note

Man I may sound simple but I just can't see how you're getting that scale run at 1:17... your picking hand seems to strike just one string yet your fretting hand is sweeping... baffled lol! Sweeping is a major downfall in my playing but I so badly want to get this nailed!

its not a sweep he is doing a scale run with hammer ons and pull offs it looks like and hitting the strings hard enough he doesnt have to pick them individually a sweep is where you are bringing your pick hand and hitting each string once or varied number of strings and hitting many notes on that string before you hit the next string....not to take away from what he did being awesome though XD but shouldnt be mistaken as a sweep
