I've met a girl from Chico!!! who was actually born there in SF Rave "popsycle". Than after few month I went to visit her and started doing it almost every other weekend. I live in San Jose but it was so worth driving there all the time. The best get away from "nurdville valley" into the best and most comfortable atmosphere of the Chico. If you want to be jobless and live on wellfare this is a great place to live more then 35% of the resedents in Chico get $900.00 in SSI "Crazy Money" the others get about $500.00 in Wellfare food stamps and what ever. Chico was a great place from the time I showed up to Chico in 2001-2005 I stayed till Jan 2009 but the crime is so bad that you have a 1-17 chances of getting robed by Gun or Knife Daly out of a population of 80,000 people. I live in chico california i have been here since i was 7 or 8 years of age, i have seen a water park leave, i have seen the old mall and its parking structure fall and become outlets and i have seen the rise of a the new mall, i have even been homless here, i used to hango ut in the downtown parks, childrens before it was over run with kids and drugs.

The new park daowntown is ok and beautiful but i miss the old one, lol the naked lounge has good hot cocao as well.

Thanks for showing the streets of Chico; it brought back a lot of memories. Especially hanging out in lower Bidwell park at night and hiding as security made their rounds (we were drinking there) LOL. It was nice meadering down Vallambrosa alongside the park in the daytime as well : )  Halloween was the best especially when you could walk the streets and not the sidewalks. I stayed in U.V. 2 for 2 1 /2 years and loved it. I'll always love my experience in Chico. Let's not forget BEER CAN ALLEY!

Those are the most common labels that get thrown at Chico and I can't argue entirely with them. There are a lot of parties, but no more in Chico than most schools have. If you just watch this video you can see how beautiful the downtown and the campus is. Each person makes their own life with what they want in Chico, but it offers resources and activities to do whatever you want.
