  • Thank you and Thank God!!! :)

  • I've just purchased a trimmer and this has been very informative thanks (is that better?)

  • take a pic it's easier !

  • I have a stihl and the oil pump has a whole in it and leaking gas from there and the gas+oil is not coming up to the filter, what should i do ?

  • Thanks for the vid. A friend gave me 3 old trimmers with dry/brittle fuel lines that were missing most of the lines so i didn't know the routing .This is the only video that showed how they are routed thanks once more.

  • @boschbeachbum Thanks! Glad we could help you out!

  • Hey Mark have the same ryobi as that any chance u could show me how to make carb adjustments on the trimmer to help me thanks

  • excellent video, thanks. I couldn't figure out how the filter was supposed to fit inside the gas tank.

  • I have a Troy 30cc I believe, trimmer from 2 seasons ago. It runs strong, at WOT on 1/2 choke, but no matter what, if I slide the 3-way choke selector to no-choke, it dies.

I disassembled the carb completely, soaked in thinner, and blew out and reassembled. it runs stronger, but still at only 1/2 choke.

I also removed the fuel filter temporarily to check to be sure it wasn't clogged. Same issue. Any ideas ?

  • @Em1nenceFr0nt It sounds like the muffler may be plugged with carbon and unburnt oil. Try removing the the spark arrestor screen from the muffler and cleaning it with a propane torch. If the muffler itself looks to be clogged you can usually also clean it out with the torch. If cleaning the muffler doesn't help then the problem is likely still with the carburetor. You may want to take a look at our carburetor cleaning video.

    Thanks!

  • @Em1nenceFr0nt - My trimmer has the same symtom with yours, did you get your trimmer fixed using the method he suggested?

  • I have an old homelite and a newer one, both have broken lines. The tank has the holes for the lines on the other end from the opening to the tank. how..I can't think of how on earth I'd be able to get to the other end and make a 90 degree turn to put new lines and filter in. Do I have to get another tank w/ gas lines already in it?

  • @sarah2007hood Try replacing the lines from the outside of the tank to the inside. Push the line through (from the outside) until it can be caught by a hook or something on the inside. Pull it through the fill opening. Replace the filter. Then pull the line back from the outside so that the filter seats itself in the proper location. This works for most trimmer fuel tanks that aren't designed with user-friendly fuel line replacement in mind. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

  • @eReplacementParts thanks so much that sounds do-able!
