  • If you have OCD or think you have OCD go to a reputable site for information, like the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundations site. There is no evidence that hypotherapy or NLP will help OCD. There is a significant body of research showing that behavioral methods are the gold standard for OCD treatment.

  • @angela171717 I agree that of all the forms of psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the one that tends to get positive results. There hasnt been a scientific study into NLP and OCD yet, which is a shame. From personal experience over 16 years with a wide variety of obsessive behaviours I can certainly say these techniques can be very effective. It IS important to seek proper professional help. Not every CBT therapist will be able to help and thats also true of NLP practitioners too.

  • I remember I had OCD since I was a child & I remember having to be spelling words in my head as I was counting the letters & I would stop as soon as I reached a word that was either 10 letters or a sentence of 20 letters, very weird I know. Now I gotta be washing my hands everytime I feel I touched something with germs, I use Lysol for everything! off. Also if I buy something that later I see on sale either there or somewhere else, i have to return it to get the deal and not feel ripped off.

  • you should definitely check out ocdmesh.com.. great source of information.. help it build its online presence by subscribing to its feed, liking, sharing, and commenting.. enjoy! :)

  • somewhere

  • @TheBubbles6212 yea thats OCD... Seems small though. I read somewear counting down and reminding yourself your parents are just fine will stop it. Worka for me when I remember.

  • I have done a bit of research on OCD and I believe I have it. The only thing that happens to me is that I think if I don't do something (something as simple as listening to a song), someone in my family will die. Usually its if I don't touch a certain item in a certain spot a certain amount of times. I turned twelve a couple months ago and this isn't something new. I would like to seek help but I do not want to worry my parents. The impulse does not happen that often. Can anyone help me?

  • I have a fear of rabies and can't stop obsessing about it. Something touched my shoulder and I think it could be a rabid bat. I might get rabies and die. Please help.

  • It sucks every freakin OCD video I watch is always about freakin germs, I need help with OCD that isn't about germs I'm 19 and I've had OCD for about 7 years now and as years go by I start developing new problems and new obsessions

I wish I could go through one day without having to deal with it and I fight it all the time I've found ways for myself to deal with it but OCD finds new ways to make things harder then they have to be

  • Hypnotherapy is used to treat dubulitating conditions and relax you but anxiety can be frighting we have to try to ignore it and get on with ourselves in a neutral way to move forwards into doing our duties

  • i'am so fkd up form the ocd .. :(

  • My OCD has changed over the years, but at the moment I have breathing OCD.

I can only breathe in on plants, animals, light colours and people that are either related to me or who I think are worthy of a breath, I know it's insane but that's OCD for you, and I'm only fourteen.

  • Hi i m zeeshan:

  • I have OCD. Ive picked nearly 20 years off my eye lashes. I also have to inspect my everything before I put it in my mouth... just to make sure there isn't a hair in it.

  • Hello i now i have OCD

I get stressed when i buy things and get slightly damaged (Something which would bother most people) I get so iritated that i sell things or give things away, Im constantly arranging everything, I do it for hours and hours never happy and becoming so stressed

I dont understand, angles seems to affect the most if something isnt straight it will irritate me beyond belief

  • I have an extreme case of OCD where i have to recap all things i've learned, becuase im paranoid that i might forget, And sometimes i think about what my life is about and have to recap just to make sure i havent forgot, But i dont mind, and in some cases OCD isnt such a bad thing.

  • @AKATSUKIxRobbie I'm exactly the same, I have to keep going over things endlessly in my head because I think I'll forget if I don't. It's driving me mad!!

  • @crisis1991 Yeah it does tend to have that effect on you, i sometime's go through fazes of normality.

  • there is no cure for ocd and u should not be tilling people there is

  • yesturday i folloewed my OCD , today im trying to get rid of it and itss soo hardd i just wish it goes away

  • I have OCD..I really can't stand with these horrible thoughts in my head! but I always doing my best to stop it

  • maybe i was to hasty in my comment. I just don't like the idea of hypnosis. Someone altering your mind. It's bad enough that OCD is already doing that. I do think that it is better to try something to get over OCD then to try absolutely nothing.

  • Hipnosis will only work for a particular fear. Since fears are always swtching with OCD it is not an effective strategy to overcome OCD.

  • @YOUHAVEOCD Thanks for your comment but that depends who is doing the hypnosis. When you combine NLP with hypnotherapy you are treating the pattern, not the individual fear. The aim is to build choice and flexibilty into the persons thinking so that they are in charge of their thinking rather than seeminlgy being at the mercy of their thoughts.

  • I'm obsessed with computers, lines and right angles and I count anything that I see often. Particularly annoying is lines in the road - but I certainly can count fast :) Dividing them by the number of lamppost often gets me confused so I have to start again making travelling a pain as I have to redo certain roads. I also have some weird phobias (never been sure if that's my ocd though) I can't write down what I'm scared of as I'm too scared, but they're all stupid stuff.

  • I have OCD in: when closing doors i make sure it's locked by pulling it closed tight even if it's already closed, making sure furniture/objects are perfectly organized, hating the number 53, refreshing an online page after logging out at least 10 times to make sure I'm logged out (same goes for after saving documents on word/powerpoint, etc), and always checking the weather forecast (i'm overly fond of storms).

  • The noise in ones head can be deafening. I feel for you all.

  • i had to buy a new car cos i cant drive my old one, i cant go out the back way of my house, it has to be the front door, i cant go to the gym any more, i cant have a girl friend any more, i cant eat anything i havent made and bought myself, i cant go to the pub, i might as well be dead.

  • i have ocd it is with numbers and i hate odd numbers and il do something once but il do it again

  • @browny224 lol, i have it with even numbers, i don't like even numbers, almost everything i do has to be something to do with an odd number...

  • okay for my ocd, i have a problem with certainty and perfection with my things. like with my phone for an example, i always keep checking my phone for txt msg and missed calls and ect. i keep on checking for every almost 2 minutes and i cant stop until i get the feeling tht i dont have to check and i think its a serious problem for me. i do know wht im doing, but i cant control it. im always making sure my stuff is perfect and being certain when check on it

  • i cant stop making sure my eletronics are working and clean

  • I check water taps and make sure things are clean no bugs in my room etc. I try to restrict myself doing that but its a bit hard because I don't have any medications either at the moment

  • Heyy :)

Like with my OCD. i was diagnosed in September, I suffer from severe obsessive thoughts that I just cant get out of my head and I know that they are in no way rational. It has really impacted on my life. Thankfully I have been advised to go on meds by my doctor for it after going through a few months of CBT....fingers crossed that they will help each other to work, cos I do have the willpower :)

  • i get headaches from my OCD when i'm not able to fulfill my compulsion or obsession. with my ocd i am driven to touch things and move them in a different direction and when i'm outside move the grass and stones on the ground sometimes like when i'm playing baseball i have to use my feet to move grass clippings or dirt its the stupidest shit ever and ik it is but if i dont fulfill these compulsion i will get headaches and i will always be thinking about that compulsion. i also have pee shyness
