Its a lot easier if you have a level 99 and you use a super repel or something, cause your not moving you can catch (I think) things that are equal or above that level only, excluding the legendaries that run around. So its just a crap ton faster that method than sitting there for a day fishy for it lol

Shame you can't get it to evolve. I was searching in that area for a high leveled Magikarp with a good nature and relatively high IVs, and I got a pretty good one which was I believe around level 50. It was awfully nice of the designers to put that in PLatinum.
